Inter turn short circuit (ITSC) faults in the permanent magnet synchronous motors (PMSMs) using applied signal processing methods might not be detected at low severities or in early stage. Four supervised machine learning (ML) algorithms, namely decision tree (DT), random forest (RF), extreme gradient boosting (XGB), and support vector machine (SVM) are used to classify different incipient faults with the healthy condition. Phase current datasets of an in-house PMSM are collected in the healthy, 2% ITSC, and 5% ITSC fault conditions. Statistical features, namely root mean square (RMS) crest, impulse, kurtosis, standard deviation, are calculated based on the measured data for the classification. Wrapper-based feature selection (WFS) technique is employed to optimize the best features to maximize the classification accuracy while reducing computational complexity. It is found that the combination of RMS factor, standard deviation, and crest factor is the best feature for fault classifications of 2% ITSC and 5% ITSC.

Kernel adaptive filters (KAFs) based on random features spaces, e.g., random Fourier features space (RFFS) and Gaussian Hermite Fourier space (GHFS) have obtained significant success in signal processing. However, RFFS and GHFS face challenges of insufficient approximation accuracy and performance sensitivity to input dimensionality, respectively. To address these issues, a novel mixture random features spaces (MRFS) method is proposed based on multikernel method. Combining the maximum correntropy criterion (MCC) and stochastic gradient method, a robust mixture random features spaces maximum correntropy criterion (MRFSMCC) algorithm is thus obtained. Simulations on nonlinear system identification and Mackey-Glass time-series prediction validate the superiorities of proposed MRFSMCC under mixed impulsive environments.

This study presents the CIAF-PFNLMS algorithm, an abbreviation for Proportionate Fast Normalized Least Mean Square with Competent Individual Activation Factors. This algorithm provides a competent method for calculating individual activation factors. This guarantees that the gain remains proportional to its associated coefficient even when the coefficient is inactive, in accordance with the concept of proportionality. This proves very beneficial in scenarios involving sparse impulse responses, leading to significant performance improvements. Additionally, the algorithm smoothly integrates the Fast Normalized Least Mean Square (FNLMS) adaptation gain into its framework, making it effective in environments with dispersive impulse responses and capable of accurately tracking echo path variations. In our study, we performed simulations to validate the capabilities of the proposed algorithm. We evaluated its performance across a range of scenarios, including sparse and dispersive environments, non-stationary situations, and compared it with established algorithms.

Electroencephalography (EEG) is widely utilized in Brain-Computer Interface (BCI) applications for detecting and interpreting brain activity to control external devices. In this work, MSS-LMF is suggested to excision of unwanted signals. The non-stationary signals are estimated using two reference signals. The suggested technique is used to estimate the reference signals, which are then removed from the raw data in order to produce the clean EEG signals. Synthetic and experimental data are both used in the studies. When compared to other approaches, the simulation results demonstrated that the suggested algorithm performed better. Root mean square is evaluated to show the performance of algorithm. The correlation coefficient has obtained 98.32%.

In many scenarios, sensors installed in USV scan only detect either the above-water or underwater part of ob-stacles, which leads to errors in obstacle avoidance. In this paper, the obstacle information detected by the sonar and visual camera is used to perform cross-domain data fusion. In low-speed operation mode, the prior binding information (surface and underwater) such as coordinate and direction will be used to match the collected image information (surface and underwater) until the desired matching level is achieved, directly determining the target orientation. When the coordinate matching level falls below the threshold or when the target ID information is missing, data processing module including cluster analysis, confidence filtering, and information entropy assessment will be employed to allocate weights to heterogeneous information, such as the distance and direction of the obstacle. In the fusion model, the Monte Carlo algorithm is applied to calculate the nonsynchronous error between the obstacles detected by the sonar and the visual sensor. Corresponding angle calculations are performed, and the information such as the distance and direction is converted into latitude and longitude coordinates. Compared to the traditional approach of simply merging surface or underwater obstacle information, we have integrated the information of the same obstacle from both above and below the water surface and enhance the reliability and accuracy of decision-making for unmanned surface vehicles.

In Vehicular Social Networks (VSN), the high speed of vehicles and the unpredictability of their directions lead to constantly changing network topologies and frequent interruptions in communication links. As a result, there are high rates of message loss and transmission delays during message transmission. To address these issues, a probability-based routing algorithm (ProSim) for VSN is proposed, which utilizes opportunistic encounters between nodes for message transmission. The VSN routing algorithm is designed based on the social relationships between vehicles to mitigate the high loss rates and delays caused by communication link interruptions. It involves selecting the encounter probability and social similarity of vehicle nodes as social relationships, quantifying them, and calculating the transmission probability. Simulations using real road data show that ProSim, compared with three classic routing algorithms: Direct Delivery (DD), Epidemic, and PRoPHET, can effectively improve the message transmission rate while controlling transmission overhead and delay. The Versal Adaptive Compute Acceleration Platform (ACAP) is a new architecture that combines AI Engines (AIEs) with reconfigurable fabric. This architecture offers significant acceleration potential for uniform recurrences in various domains, such as deep learning, high-performance computation, and signal processing. However, efficiently mapping these computations onto the Versal ACAP architecture while achieving high utilization of AIEs poses a challenge. To address this issue, we propose a mapping scheme called WideSA, which aims to accelerate uniform recurrences on the Versal ACAP architecture by leveraging the features of both the hardware and the computations. Considering the array architecture of AIEs, our approach utilizes space-time transformations based on the polyhedral model to generate legally optimized systolic array mappings. Concurrently, we have developed a routing-aware PLIO assignment algorithm tailored for communication on the AlE array, and the algorithm aims at successful compilation while maximizing array utilization. Furthermore, we introduce an automatic mapping framework. This framework is designed to generate the corresponding executable code for uniform recurrences, which encompasses the AlE kernel program, programmable logic bitstreams, and the host program. The experimental results validate the effectiveness of our mapping scheme. Specifically, when applying our scheme to matrix multiplication computations on the VCK5000 board, we achieve a throughput of 4.15TOPS on float data type, which is 1.11 x higher compared to the state-of-the-art accelerator on the Versal ACAP architecture.

This paper proposes a new active thermogra-phy methodology for the non-destructive investigation and reconstruction of internal structures in multilayered printed circuit boards through the digital image processing of superficial thermal records. The methodology relies on the sequential composition of three digital signal processing techniques standing for the raw-data signal reconstruction, the transformation of the thermal information in a virtual acoustic wave, and the virtual wave analysis for the source spatial reconstruction. The methodology is validated through finite element simulations which proves that this imaging methodology is capable of localizing and reconstructing the shape of the traces. The main novelty is the application of a recent new algorithm for thermal imaging for the monitoring of internal traces in multilayered printed circuits and the design-from-PCB.

The complexity of Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS) and the diversity of their components make them vulnerable to cyber attacks. The interaction between cyberspace and the physical environment complicates the assessment of threats and weaknesses, leading to new security challenges. In this paper, the presented concept involves creating a control system using Raspberry Pi 4 to simulate an external attack. Our contribution encompasses logical verification and authentication of both internal and external commands implemented as an embedded hardware layer within our CPS.

Energy storage battery pack is the core component of the seismic station energy supply, to ensure the seismic station green economy, safe and stable operation, improve the lithium battery charge state accurate estimation, is proposed based on adaptive particle swarm improved estimate battery State-of-Charge extension Kalman filter algorithm, through the forgetting factor recurrence multiplication online identification battery model parameters based on the SOC estimate, the Adaptive Mixovariation Particle Swarm Optimization algorithm optimization Extended Kalman Filter algorithm noise variance matrix, and the system and the measurement noise matrix optimization, further improve the estimation accuracy of SOC. The results show that the AMPSO-EKF algorithm can accurately identify the battery model parameters and the SOC values, and can correct the initial error of the state variable well.
