Change detection (CD) in heterogeneous remote sensing images plays a crucial role in earth observation tasks with high timeliness. However, it is frequently unavailable for existing heterogeneous CD frameworks to control false alarm rate due to the lack of appropriate statistical modeling for heterogeneous data, leading to inaccurate identification on real changed areas overshadowed by false alarms. To address this issue, motivated by the constant false alarm rate (CFAR) strategy in traditional radar signal processing, we propose a new Copula-CFAR-CD method to theoretically control false alarm rate in heterogeneous CD. In our Copula-CFAR-CD, copula functions are trained to simulate the statistical dependence of unchanged areas between heterogeneous images. Then, CFAR thresholds are calculated based on the trained copula functions and the CD results corresponding to expectant false alarm rates are obtained. Our Copula-CFAR-CD delineates a roadmap for implementing controllable false alarms in heterogeneous CD, and experimental results on two real heterogeneous CD datasets demonstrate the effectiveness of our method.

Compressed Sensing (CS) is an efficient signal processing technique that can accurately acquire and reconstruct signals at lower sampling rates exploiting the sparsity of the signals. In the field of image processing, compressed sensing image reconstruction algorithms utilize the sparse representation of images to recover the original image from small number of observations. The core of this algorithm lies in the sparse representation of the signal, the construction of the observation matrix, and the selection of the reconstruction. First, it is assumed that the original image can be sparsely represented in a certain sparse basis, such as wavelet transform or sparse dictionary. Then the sparse coefficients are randomly sampled to obtain the observations. Finally, the image is reconstructed using a compressed sensing algorithm based on the sampling data and the observation matrix. performance of the reconstruction algorithm is affected by factors such as the sparsity of the signal, the design of the observation matrix, and the selection of the reconstruction algorithm To improve the reconstruction performance, various improved algorithms have been proposed in recent years, such as the iterative hard thresholding algorithm with variable step size and the deep learning image compressed sensing algorithm.

In this research, an RF transmitter localization algorithm using the phase difference rate of change method, which is expected to be applicable in electronic support systems on airborne platforms, is introduced. Traditionally, in RF transmitter localization, the intersection of lines of bearing (LOB) obtained from angle of arrival information taken from different measurement points is used. This method, known as triangulation, relies on LOB having different angles and takes a long time. This situation causes constraints in localization systems. However, the method known as phase difference rate of change, which is considered a direct position determination method, allows positioning instantaneously. Within the scope of the study, a model of the method was established, simulated, and used for positioning purposes.

Orthogonal time-frequency-space (OTFS) modulation transforms the time-varying channel into the delay-Doppler domain, and the fading coefficient of the channel in the delay-Doppler domain is near constant. OTFS modulation realizes the quantized representation of the channel in the delay dimension and the Doppler dimension, and the system has the good performance of anti-multipath effect and anti-Doppler expansion. Therefore, we extend the two-dimensional decision feedback equalization (2D-DFE) to the OTFS system, and propose a 2D adaptive multichannel DFE for OTFS system with superposition pilot (SP). Based on the superior performance of the algorithm, this paper applies the method to underwater acoustic (UWA) communications to deal with UWA channel with large delay and large Doppler. At the same time, the sparse nature of the delay-Doppler domain channel is exploited to achieve fast convergence and fast tracking using the normalized least mean square (NLMS) algorithm. Simulation results show that the proposed equalizer could achieve more satisfactory BER performance and improve the band utilization.

Adaptive streaming over HTTP aims to maximize user Quality-of-Experience through video quality adaptation. Conventional adaptation schemes measure the video quality for variable bitrate (VBR) video in terms of the average bitrate. However, video bitrate is not an accurate measure of perceptual quality. Alternative quality measures, such as the Video Multi-method Assessment Fusion (VMAF), can be used to better represent the quality perceived by the viewer. Studying the VMAF of video chunks across the same bitrate level shows that user QoE depends not only on the overall video quality, but also on the content complexity. This work proposes a deep Q-learning (DQL) adaptation algorithm that accounts for content complexity by prioritizing complex video chunks during bitrate selection. Simulation results show that the average video quality is improved by using complexity-aware streaming over the baseline algorithms,

The integration of electroencephalography (EEG) and photoplethysmography (PPG) in consumer-grade wearable devices is revolutionizing healthcare by enabling continuous health monitoring. However, these devices face significant challenges in terms of power consumption, computational complexity, and data storage, necessitating efficient data compression techniques. This paper proposes a modified Golomb-Rice coding method tailored for lossy compression of multi-channel EEG and PPG signals. By leveraging the statistical properties of filtered data and employing an optimized parameter estimation strategy, the proposed method achieves high compression ratios while minimizing computational overhead and preserving critical signal information. The proposed algorithm shifts data to handle negative values, scales and converts it into an appropriate format for encoding, and uses a novel parameter estimation technique to optimize the Golomb-Rice parameter. Extensive simulations on EEG and PPG datasets demonstrate that this parameter estimation method yields significantly better performance, improving both efficiency and processing speed. Results underscore the importance of preprocessing in data compression and provide a robust framework for future advancements in biomedical signal processing.

5G systems are introduced in the modern era to void latency, interference and to increase the system efficiency. But the coexistence in these systems may cause the users data to attack with interference. Hence, to avoid such interferences a linearly constrained least mean square filter is designed. Algorithm for 5G Interference-coexistence communication reduces the mean square error when compared to all other previous methods. Adaptive beamforming is a signal processing technique that improves the signal strength in a particular direction by combining sounds from an array of microphones with specific delays. Adaptive beam-forming uses various algorithms to identify the signals in the desired direction and separate the interference from the undesired/unwanted direction.

The rapid advancement and utilization of Mobile Ad Hoc Networks(MANETs) have led to the widespread application of deep learning in intelligent routing issues. While current intelligent routing algorithms concentrate on identifying the best next-hop node through deep learning, they overlook the influence of the dynamic external electromagnetic environment and their own network setting on the routing approach. Consequently, this paper introduces a deep reinforcement learning-based intelligent routing decision-making technique. Tailored to diverse routing approaches needed for various service types and intricate link conditions, this method allows nodes to flexibly adapt their routing strategies in response to real-time service requirements and environmental variations. Through simulations, it is observed that the intelligent routing policy decision-making technique exhibits superior overall performance compared to a single routing policy.

Facial paralysis is characterized by sudden weakness or paralysis in the muscles on one side of the face, resulting in an asymmetrical facial appearance and difficulty performing normal facial movements, such as closing one eye or smiling. In this article our aim is to characterize the values of 5 features that describe 5 facial expressions in healthy subjects. To this end, signal processing is performed to find quantitative values for the facial expressions. From the calculated features, discrepancies of 3.55% to 23.35% were found between both sides of the face in healthy subjects for the smile facial expression. This algorithm will be integrated as a user interface for facial mapping and recovery follow-up in future work.
