Aiming at the low efficiency of traditional bridge crack detection and the problem of certain safety factors, this paper designs a bridge crack detection system based on machine learning. The system firstly carries out crack data collection and pre-processing, crack processing, classification and then crack parameter measurement, and finally integrates all the above steps into the GUI software interface. The whole system realizes the detection of bridge cracks and the display of parameters, and also gives the health condition of the bridge and suggestions. The design not only improves the efficiency of bridge crack detection, but also lays a good research foundation for practical engineering applications.

This research demonstrates that the jitter requirements for direct RF sampling systems and traditional direct conversion receivers are equivalent. Our results contradict the belief that sophisticated clocks, are necessary. Practical, everyday clocks similar to those used in direct conversion receiver systems are sufficient to ensure signal fidelity in 5G NR OFDM systems using direct RF sampling. This discovery streamlines the implementation of direct RF sampling systems, increasing their practicality and cost-effectiveness without sacrificing performance. Additionally, our study showcases the effortless application of the complete phase noise related research done in the past to direct RF sampling systems, encompassing inter-carrier interference effects, phase tracking systems, and phase noise compensation algorithms. This equivalence expands upon the existing knowledge base. From direct conversion systems to the direct RF domain, this provides a consistent and robust theoretical framework for understanding and mitigating phase noise effects in communication systems. This unified approach streamlines the development process, allowing engineers to work more efficiently. Researchers can use existing methodologies and solutions to address phase noise challenges in direct RF sampling systems. These findings contribute to the advancement and practical adoption of direct RF sampling in 5G NR OFDM and other communication systems, promoting efficiency and reliability in today’s communication technologies.

We present a robust method to infer network topology in the presence of outliers from given observations at nodes under the structural equation model. We introduce auxiliary matrices modeling Gaussian noise and sparse outliers. The topology identification task is cast as a minimization problem of the sum of three terms under constraints involving a bilinear form: (i) the squared Frobenius norm of the noise matrix, (ii) the $\ell_{1}$ norm of the adjacency matrix, and (iii) a weakly-convex sparsity-promoting function (the minimax concave penalty) of the outlier matrix. The problem is reformulated into an unconstrained optimization problem by introducing a linear operator, and an efficient alternating minimization method is presented. Simulation results show remarkable robustness of the proposed method.

The Brain-Computer Interface (BCI) Based Wheelchair Control System is a cutting-edge assistive technology designed to empower individuals with severe motor disabilities. This project leverages advancements in neuroscience and engineering to develop a wheelchair control system that enables users to navigate their environment using neural signals. The BCI interprets electroencephalography (EEG) signals Generated by the user’s mental processes, allowing for real-time communication between the brain and the wheelchair’s control *** system comprises an EEG headset, signal processing unit, microcontroller, and motorized wheelchair platform. The EEG headset records and processes the user’s brainwave signals, which are then transmitted to the signal processing unit for feature extraction and classification. A custom-designed algorithm analysis the EEG data to identify specific patterns associated with navigation commands. These commands are subsequently transmitted to the microcontroller, which interprets them into actionable instructions for controlling the wheelchair’s movement. The project also incorporates safety features, including obstacle detection and collision avoidance mechanisms. Ultrasonic sensors and computer vision algorithms are integrated to provide real-time feedback on the wheelchair’s surroundings, enabling the system to automatically adjust its trajectory to avoid potential *** enhance user-friendliness, a user interface application is developed to provide visual feedback and customizable settings for personalized control. Interference mitigation for integrated sensing and communication (ISAC) is important for guaranteeing both communication and sensing performances. To suppress the interference between the downlink sensing and the uplink communication, it is necessary to judiciously design the receiver at the base station (BS). In this paper, we develop an ISAC receiver design by formulating a joint target estimation, channel estimation, and symbol detection (JEED) problem based on the maximum a posteriori (MAP) criterion, which turns out to be a mixed-integer problem. To solve this difficult problem, we develop an alternating direction method of multipliers (ADMM)-based algorithm, which has fast convergence and only involves closed-form expression calculations in each iteration. Simulation results show that our proposed algorithm can achieve excellent performances in terms of communication bit error rate (BER) and target sensing accuracy.

Hyperspectral unmixing is an essential tool for analyzing hyperspectral data, especially in remote sensing. Many approaches have been developed for this problem, ranging from model-based to deep learning-based, and (hybrid) unrolled methods. However, the development of supervisedly trained deep learning-based unmixing methods is hindered by the lack of available labeled training datasets. In this paper, to enable the supervised training of neural networks for hyperspectral unmixing, we propose a methodology to construct a synthetic training database directly from the hyperspectral image to unmix. We use this data generation approach to train an unrolled unmixing method LPALM. The trained LPALM is assessed on two real hyperspectral datasets and shows the best performances compared to other classical, unrolled, and autoencoder-based unmixing methods. The electrocardiogram (ECG) is an important non-invasive tool for diagnosing heart and cardiovascular diseases. However, traditional ECG systems often provide images, which makes it challenging to directly utilize the image-based data in various applications that require 1-D signals. Therefore, the digitalization of ECG reports is essential for the establishment of electronic medical archives, advanced diagnostic tools, and intelligent healthcare systems. Previous efforts to digitize paper-based ECGs have been limited by the need to manually select regions of interest, limited accuracy in handling overlapping ECG leads, and lack of batch processing capabilities. We present a fully automated method for digitizing ECG reports that requires only a predefined lead distribution, eliminating the need for manual lead position selection. This method effectively addresses the challenge of overlapping leads and has the capability for automated batch processing. Validation against a subset of the PTB-XL dataset demonstrated high accuracy and reliability (Root Mean Square Error: 0.036 (mV), Pearson Correlation Coefficient: 0.977). To further verify the generalizability of the method, we applied the algorithm to hospital ECG reports. The results, evaluated by expert cardiologists, confirmed that our method produced consistently high-quality digitalization and demonstrated its applicability to different types of ECG reports.

Spatially coupled low-density parity-check (SC-LDPC) codes are a special type of sparse graph codes that have recently attracted great interest due to their capacity-approaching performance. To reduce the performance loss in-curred by short cycles, this paper proposes a method based on the greatest common divisor (GCD) full-length row-multiplier (FLRM) matrix to construct girth-8 quasi-cyclic SC-LDPC codes with improved performance and flexible code rates. Besides, we further extend the lower bound of the circulant permutation matrix (CPM) size to be compatible with different code lengths. Numerical results demonstrate that the proposed SC-LDPC code has performance gains of 1.05 dB and 1.0 dB compared with that based on RS structure at an BER of 10 −6 over AWGN channels for code rates 0.45 and 0.625, respectively. Additionally, SC-LDPC codes based on the GCD constraint achieve the trade-off between decoding performance and complexity..

Video compression is considered as an important step-in real-time application for 4K and 8K video contain. Actually, several techniques of compression are adopted and developed, but the Versatile Video Coding (VVC) standard is the latest one. VVC adopt many new and developed techniques such LMCS filter, motion estimation, intra prediction and Context-based Adaptive Binary Arithmetic Coding plus (CABAC + ). CABAC + is the only operation of entropy coding adopted in VVC video codec but it undergone modifications and improvement compared to that used in High Efficiency Video Coding (HEVC). CABAC is operate with three main modes: Bypass (BM), Terminate (TM) and Regular (RM). Additionally, the heavy calculation of RM results a long critical path delay and consume more resources. We propose in this work, software and material implementation of regular mode CABAC + decoder in the latest VVC standard. Firstly, the RM CABAC + algorithm is implemented on MATLAB software in order to control and manage the decoding process of syntax element. Secondly, the RM CABAC + algorithm is designed, implemented, synthesized and emulated. Finally, comparison results are carried out between that obtained with ModelSim and that obtained with Matlab in order to ensure the accuracy of our proposed design.

In scenarios with an unknown and time-varying number of targets, this paper proposes an underwater multi-target tracking method based on cross-entropy method data association for multi-array bearing fusion. The proposed method constructs a probability distribution over the association space under conditions of uncertain target numbers. Potential solutions for target birth and death, as well as the association between surviving targets and bearing measurements, are generated by random sampling. This approach enhances the tracking capability under conditions of a large and unknown number of targets. Simulation experiments validate the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm and improved performance compared to traditional methods.
