In the development of secondary systems of stations and substations, including relay protection, automation, control, electric power metering and other features, there have recently been qualitative changes related to the introduction of digital technologies. The introduction of digital technologies is supported by innovative development programmes such as «Digital Transformation 2030». The essence of introducing digital technologies is related to the use of digital data transmission channels according to common standards. “Digital substation” projects are being actively implemented with transmission of digital information at all levels, starting with primary equipment, including transmission of information, both from current and voltage measuring transformers, and switchgear. Currently, digital measuring transformers are being actively developed and beginning to be introduced, in which information on measured current and voltage is presented in a digital code. New approaches to measuring primary current and voltage, and the transmission of information pose new challenges and open up new prospects of improving signals processing methods used for relay protection purposes. This determines the relevance of the objective of our research - developing and studying approaches to the digital processing of signals in digital current and voltage measuring transformers. As a result, the approach to determining synchronized values of current vectors was studied by processing information obtained from primary current converters. The characteristics of the algorithm for obtaining the vector were analyzed, and the dependences of errors on the influence of distorting factors were plotted. The proposed approach to obtaining the vector is a development of the existing approach by obtaining information from current sensors operating on different physical principles. The study shows the advantages of the proposed method.

The marine environment can impede accurate detection due to various noises. These combined impediments lower the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of the bearing measurement and increase the likelihood of undetected target intervals over entire signal processing time. When performing Target Motion Analysis (TMA) by using these bearing measurements, noises can cause discontinuities in the target trajectory, thereby degrade TMA performance. In this paper, we propose a technique for estimating the bearing measurement trajectory on a Bearing Time Records (BTR) diagram in low SNR environments. The proposed method called the integrated highest probability data association - amplitude information (IHPDA-AI) algorithm applies probabilistic distributions of signal amplitudes of the target and clutter to evaluate the data association probability calculation unlike the existing HPDA (Highest Probability Data Association) algorithm. The performance of the proposed algorithm is validated through Monte Carlo simulations. The proposed technique is assessed by comparing the performance of the integrated probabilistic strongest neighbor filter with m-validated measurement (IPSNF-m) algorithm and the cumulative IPSNF-m (CPSNF-m) algorithm using simulated BTR diagrams in various SNR environments.

This article provides an overview of CAN (Controller Area Network) analyzers used to observe and analyze communications on a CAN network. These analysis devices are widely used in various fields such as automotive, embedded electronics, industrial automation, etc. They are useful and offer numerous advantages, including easy message reading. Additionally, this paper describes the design of a new CAN analyzer and it's Human Interface Machine (HIM) we have created, along with its own features and characteristics, that we called it CANalyzerS, s means a simplified version compared to existing one. This type of CAN analyzer is specifically dedicated to monitoring and diagnosing faults in connected cars. The results obtained are very satisfactory.

Traditional analog-to-digital converters (ADCs) often struggle to balance high sampling rates with power efficiency, limiting their effectiveness in advanced radar and communication systems. Neuromorphic ADCs capture samples only when a signal crosses a specific threshold. This asynchronous sampling strategy effectively compresses incoming datastreams, enabling neuromorphic ADCs to achieve higher sampling rates at reduced power consumption compared to conventional ADCs. However, existing algorithms are poorly suited for processing the asynchronous samples. Conventional techniques like matched filters are inapplicable and most established deep learning algorithms expect regularly sampled data. This work introduces a spiking neural network (SNN) architecture specifically designed for processing asynchronous radar samples. Our novel approach is applied to Radar High-Resolution Range Profile (HRRP) based target classification. Remarkably, our experiments demonstrate that combining a neuromorphic ADC with an SNN achieves performance on par with high-sample-rate conventional ADCs paired with Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) while reducing the overall sampling rate by more than 95%.

A modified inverse Radon transform is proposed to address the issue of phase estimation bias in short-pulse micro-Doppler signals. The proposed algorithm achieves compensation for phase estimation deviations by constructing a modified signal, thus mitigating the impact on the estimation of subsequent components. Simulation experiments verify that the proposed modified inverse Radon transform can accurately estimate the micro-Doppler features in short pulse.

This research introduces a neural architecture search (NAS) based backbone network called IRVD-NAS, which is designed for infrared vehicle identification (IRVD) in aerial photography. IRVD is a challenging task due to small target sizes, low image resolution, and complex backgrounds. To solve these problems, IRVD-NAS first searches for a lightweight yet effective backbone structure and further improves the results using a delayed down-sampling strategy. Unlike previous NAS methods, IRVD-NAS uses detection accuracy as the supervision signal, instead of classification accuracy, which is more favorable for the infrared vehicle detection task. Besides detection loss, the target-background pixel ratio is also used as a supervision signal to mitigate the interference caused by small vehicle targets and complex backgrounds. We suggest a down-sampling delay approach to enhance the detection of minuscule objects, based on the network architecture that was investigated. By giving more importance to detailed features at lower levels, this approach can greatly enhance the ability to detect small targets without requiring much computational resources. Extensive experiments on DroneVehicle dataset show that IRVD-NAS significantly improves accuracy and achieves real-time speed in the aerial photography infrared vehicle detection task.

Flash floods represent a serious problem, especially in urban areas, due to the consequences of sediment transport and other phenomena affecting security and life quality of citizens. The availability of low-cost solutions for the real-time monitoring of such phenomena, with particular regards to the water level in urban areas, is of main interest for the realization of early warning systems aimed to predict and handle hazardous events. In this paper a water level monitoring system, based on a low-cost vision system and a dedicated signal processing implemented on an embedded hardware platform, is presented. Main advantage of the proposed approach resides in the adopted sensing methodology, which besides being low-cost, allows for a robust estimation of the water level, without the need for active (powered) ground devices. A proof-of-concept aimed prototype has been realized and its performances have been assessed by means of a dedicated experimental survey. Obtained results highlight high sensitivity and specificity in the water level recognition, with an accuracy close to 100% over the whole explored detection range.

Low earth orbit (LEO) satellite network is promising to meet the low latency, extensive coverage, and flexible networking requirements for future 6G communications. To realize efficient data transmission in dynamic LEO satellite network, an appropriate routing strategy is essential. In this paper, we investigate a multi-task LEO satellite network. Specifically, the routing strategies for all tasks are designed to maximize the quality of service (QoS) for data transmission. Since the formulated problem is a mixed-integer nonlinear programming problem, a multi-agent reinforcement learning-based routing algorithm (MARL-RA) is proposed to address this problem. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed algorithm significantly improves the QoS of data transmission and reduces the end-to-end (E2E) delay by 50%, 33% and 16.7% compared to other benchmark schemes, respectively.

To enable widespread use of Integrated Sensing and Communication (ISAC) in future communication systems, an important requirement is the ease of integration. A possible way to achieve this is to use existing communication reference signals for sensing, such as the 5G Positioning Reference signal (PRS). Existing works have demonstrated promising results by using the PRS with classical signal processing techniques. However, this approach suffers from a loss of SNR due to the sparse resource allocation. In this work, we improve upon existing results by combining the 5G PRS with compressed sensing methods. We demonstrate that our method achieves better noise robustness compared to the existing works and has super-resolution properties, making it an ideal choice for range-Doppler map generation and target detection even in noisy environments.

Millimeter wave (mm-Wave) frequencies provide high data rates while encountering issues like high penetration losses and obstruction. To overcome these challenges, large antenna arrays and analog beamforming with phase shifters are utilized. This can lead to overlapping coverage areas and interference between beams, making resource scheduling (user, beam, time, and data rate) a complex and critical issue. This paper proposes four algorithms for coordinated multi-BS, multibeam scheduling of users in the time domain. Next, we propose two approaches for rate management amongst the scheduled users in the time domain. Finally, we present some numerical results illustrating the effectiveness of the proposed strategies and algorithms.
