With the development of e-commerce and the progress of science and technology, the logistics system needs to develop and progress. Traditional manual logistics has low efficiency, high cost, and is prone to mistakes. Efficient logistics system is playing an increasingly important role in enhancing the economy, and the use of computer simulation technology to optimize the logistics system has become a popular research field. The paper first analyzes the computer simulation technology and the logistics system, then establishes the logistics simulation model and studies the real-time simulation algorithm of the logistics system, and uses the partial particle swarm algorithm to find the optimal solution, and finally verifies its rationality. © 2024 IEEE.

Logistics service providers (LSPs) offering container transport to the hinterland of the Netherlands face the challenge of efficiently using the capacity of the barge in order to minimize cost, while part of the relevant information is still lacking at the moment decisions have to be made. The existing infrastructure and the transporta- tion activities are studied and modeled as an online optimization problem with simultaneously vehicle routing and container-to-mode assignment. A characteristic of great importance in the problem is the uncertainty element that reflects in the requested appointment times that have to be confirmed by another agent in the net- work. An online optimization approach is proposed, where the input data come in sequentially and decisions have to be made in between, because new information becomes available only after the decision has been made. At each decision moment, the uncertainty element is converted to an offline optimization problem by disre- garding the uncertainty or by simulating various potential future scenarios. Sub- sequently, the problem is modeled as a multi-commodity network design problem on a time-space graph. Four different solution methods are developed in order to solve the online optimization problem. Three confirmation based methods concern a model in which the uncertainty element is partially disregarded, by assuming that each requested appointment time will be scheduled at a specific time relative to the requested one. Alternatively, a much more complex method is developed in which various future scenarios are simulated for the requested appointment times given their probability vector. The simulation based model seeks robust solutions that are resistant to change, i. e., feasible and (sub)optimal for every potential future sce- nario that has been simulated. PurposeIn multi-criteria ranking problems, the UTA-like methods can be used to infer the value functions that restore the decision-maker's (DM's) indirect preference information. These value functions represent all possible preference systems for the DM. In this paper, we aim to develop a method for determining the complete ranking of alternatives based on all such value ***/methodology/approachWe extend the DM's inductive preference for value functions in the selection of a representative value function to rankings of alternatives and construct a novel measure referred as the representativeness index to evaluate the performance of rankings relative to the inductive preference. Subsequently, by exploring all value functions that are capable of generating a ranking, two robust representativeness indices are constructed and a simulation algorithm is proposed for calculating the robust representativeness *** the ranking based on the representative value function can be seen as selecting the ranking with the largest representativeness index. Additionally, we find through a case study that the ranking determined based on robust representativeness indices has good robustness in the sense of inductive ***/valueThe inductive preference is a manifestation of the DM's preference system. This paper proposes a method for measuring the performance of rankings relative to inductive preferences. The performance of a ranking is defined as the performance of all value functions that can produce that ranking relative to the inductive preference. In turn, it is possible to identify the ranking that best matches the DM's preference system.

Hydraulic Performance of a Residential Stormwater Infiltration Gallery

An increasing number of municipalities are encouraging homeowners to implement on-site residential stormwater management. In some communities, this encouragement takes the form of a stormwater utility fee or rain tax that may be reduced if homeowners take measures to reduce runoff. The most commonly cited techniques for reducing runoff are disconnecting downspouts or installing rain barrels, rain gardens, or permeable pavements. The analysis presented here examines the hydraulic performance of the less commonly recommended residential stormwater infiltration gallery designed to reduce off-site runoff from roof gutters. Case study simulation results based on a 10-year precipitation record for Cleveland, Ohio, indicate that a 30-m (100-ft) infiltration gallery sitting atop soil with a modest infiltration rate of 0.64cm/h (0.25in./h) could attain a single downspout roof service-area runoff reduction of 90%, and a 61-m (200-ft) gallery could attain a whole roof runoff reduction of more than 85%. This performance is superior to that expected from rain barrels or modest-size rain gardens, and the operation-free and low-maintenance gallery would address many of the concerns often expressed by homeowners about other stormwater-management options. High accuracy multiple scatter modelling for 3D whole body PET

A new technique for modelling multiple- order Compton scatter which uses the absolute probabilities relating the image space to the projection space in 3D whole body PET is presented. The details considered in this work give a valuable insight into the scatter problem, particularly for multiple scatter. Such modelling is advantageous for large attenuating media where scatter is a dominant component of the measured data, and where multiple scatter may dominate the total scatter depending on the energy threshold and object size. The model offers distinct features setting it apart from previous research: ( 1) specification of the scatter distribution for each voxel based on the transmission data, the physics of Compton scattering and the specification of a given PET system;( 2) independence from the true activity distribution;( 3) in principle no scaling or iterative process is required to find the distribution;( 4) explicit multiple scatter modelling;( 5) no scatter subtraction or addition to the forward model when included in the system matrix used with statistical image reconstruction methods;( 6) adaptability to many different scatter compensation methods from simple and fast to more sophisticated and therefore slower methods;( 7) accuracy equivalent to that of a Monte Carlo model. The scatter model has been validated using Monte Carlo simulation (SimSET).

Rain Barrel-Urban Garden Stormwater Management Performance

Accelerated stormwater runoff creates environmental problems in many urban communities. Methods for reducing this runoff are available, but most do not work well if soils are poorly drained. Analysis of a rain barrel implementation strategy that diverts only roof runoff, for which there is a beneficial garden use, is presented and illustrated with a case study application. This approach reduces operation to the growing season and requires that the rain barrel function to benefit the garden and to reduce runoff, but may improve homeowner acceptance and operation. General methods for quantifying and bounding system effectiveness are illustrated. Case study results indicate that a 50-gal. (189-L) rain barrel connected to 25% of a 2,000-ft(2) (186-m(2)) residential roof and serving a 150-ft(2) (14-m(2)) garden in Cleveland Heights, Ohio, would reduce the total roof growing-season runoff by 2.4-5.4% and the total annual roof runoff by 1.4-3.1%, depending on the irrigation strategy applied. Increasing garden and barrel size could increase the annual runoff reduction to 7.4%, but barrel capacity constrains additional reductions. These results illustrate the stormwater management limitations of rain barrels used in the case study location. In master-field simulations of lattice QCD, the expectation values of interest are obtained from a single or at most a few representative gauge-field configurations on very large lattices. If the light quarks are included, the generation of these fields using standard techniques is however challenging in view of various algorithmic instabilities and precision issues. Ways to overcome these problems are described here for the case of the O(a)-improved Wilson formulation of lattice QCD and the viability of the proposed measures is then checked in extensive simulations of the theory with 2 + 1 flavours of quarks. A method has been developed for optimizing the axial enrichment and gadolinia distributions for the reload BWR fuel under control rod programming. The problem was to minimize the enrichment requirement subject to the criticality and axial power peaking constraints. The optimization technique was based on the successive linear programming method, each linear programming problem being solved by a goal programming algorithm. A rapid and practically accurate core neutronics model, named the modified one-dimensional core model, was developed to describe the batch-averaged burnup behavior of the reload fuel. A core burnup simulation algorithm, employing a burnup-power-void iteration, was also developed to calculate the rigorous equilibrium cycle performance. This method was applied to the optimization of axial two- and 24-region fuels for demonstrative purposes. The optimal solutions for both fuels have proved the optimality of what is called burnup shape optimization spectral shift. For the two-region fuel with a practical power peaking of 1.4, the enrichment distribution was nearly uniform, because a bottom-peaked burnup shape flattens the axial power shape. Optimization of the 24-region fuel bas shown a potential improvement in BWR fuel cycle economics, which will guide future advancement in BWR fuel designs.

Colored Fuzzy Petri Nets for Dealing with Genetic Regulatory Networks

Fuzzy approaches play an important role in the modeling of genetic regulatory networks (GRNs) with incomplete quantitative data. However, current fuzzy approaches such as fuzzy logic and fuzzy Petri nets (FPNs) can neither clearly describe causal relationships between genes as each interaction between genes is represented by a couple of fuzzy rules, nor easily deal with large GRNs. To address these issues, this paper presents a new class of colored fuzzy Petri nets (CFPNs) by combining colored Petri nets with FPNs, which makes it possible to clearly represent interactions among genes or to construct a compact model for a large GRN requiring many fuzzy rules. We give the definition of CFPNs and a simulation approach which incorporates a reasoning algorithm, as well as a detailed procedure for modeling and analyzing GRNs with CFPNs. We illustrate our approach using a simple example comprising six genes.

Optimization and management of the energy produced by a wind energizing system

The present paper presents a new method for sizing and techno-economical optimization of an autonomous wind system. The main objective of the present study is to find the optimum size of system, able to accomplish the energy requirements of a given load distribution, for a specific site, and to analyze the impact of different parameters on the system size. Modeling of the autonomous wind system is considered as the first step in the optimal sizing procedure. In this paper, more accurate mathematical models for characterizing the main subsystems (wind generator and unit of storage) are proposed. Based on lack of energy to generate probability (LEGP), percentage of the surplus of energy produced (PSEP) and the cost of the kilowatt-hour produced (C(kWh)). the second step consists in optimizing the sizing of a system. A simulation software code has been developed to carry out the analysis for optimizing the size of the system. Also, a case study using the software code has been presented to determine the optimal system configuration used to satisfy the requirements of a typical residential home (5 kWh/day) located in Sfax, Tunisia.
