Facial expressions play a main role in determining the internal impressions of the human. Therefore, dealing with these expressions by machine learning attract the attention of many researches. However, the large number of extracted features of faces is a hard task in this process due to the numbers of irrelative and repeated features among them. This paper tries to decrease the extracted feature of facial expression images by deleting repeated features to increase the performance and decrease the computation time of the recognition task. Therefore, in this paper, a dataset of students' facial expression is used, and the binary sine-cosine algorithm (SCA) is applied to select the most relative features. The experiment results showed that, the SCA reduced the features number by 87% as well as it achieved the high accuracy results and outperformed all other methods.

Energy storage systems have great potential in maintaining the power balance and sustaining the grid frequency during sudden disturbances to support the automatic generation control in a power system. Hence, the role of a capacitive energy storage unit as an energy storage device and a thyristor-controlled phase shifter in the automatic generation control of a two-area interconnected power system having multiple gas-hydro-thermal mixed generating units in a deregulated power environment has been investigated in this paper. The recently developed sine-cosine algorithm is used to search the optimal gains of the proportional-integral controller using the integral of time-multiplied absolute error criteria. In addition, the effectiveness of the sine-cosine algorithm tuned proportional-integral controller is also compared with the popular particle swarm optimization algorithm tuned proportional-integral controller in different contract (unilateral, bilateral and contract violation cases) scenarios of the proposed deregulated power system. The impact of the coordinated action of the capacitive energy storage and thyristor-controlled phase shifter units has been validated on the area frequency, tie-line power, and generated power of different units. The analyses revealed that sine-cosine algorithm optimized proportional-integral controller with a capacitive energy storage unit give better dynamic response in all scenarios of the deregulated electricity market under different operating conditions. In this paper, a novel context-based 3D Otsu algorithm using human learning optimization (HLO) is proposed for multilevel color image segmentation. The performance of 3D Otsu algorithm is reported to be poor while dealing with between-class variances through the aid of three-dimensional histogram. To overcome this problem, the concept of context thresholding has been exploited to derive pixel intensity values and spatial information. The nature of spatial context and histogram of an image is very similar. The use of energy curve for 3D Otsu gives satisfactory results but it is more time-consuming during the process of threshold selection. HLO is a recently developed meta-heuristic optimization algorithm that involves the use of learning operators developed by mimicking human learning mechanisms. In this paper, in order to avoid an exhaustive search to obtain optimal thresholds, HLO is used. Experimental studies reported in this paper demonstrate that the proposed method is better than the histogram-based 1D Otsu, 2D Otsu, and 3D Otsu methods. These claims have been confirmed by comparing fidelity parameters such as mean error (ME), mean squared error (MSE), peak signal-to-noise ratio (PSNR), feature similarity index (FSIM), structure similarity index (SSIM) and entropy. In order to minimize total production time in multi-pass milling process, selecting optimal values of the process parameters is of great importance. The parameter optimization model of multipass milling process is a Constrained Non-Linear Programming formulation. Due to nonlinearity and complexity of the mathematical model, developing new solution methodologies, which can provide efficient solutions, is essential. For this purpose, in this paper a novel hybrid algorithm called sine-cosine Whale Optimization algorithm is proposed for parameter optimization problem of multi-pass milling process in order to minimize total production time. The SCWOA uses exploration and exploitation abilities of the two basic algorithms to achieve better solutions. To show efficiency of the proposed algorithm, an experimental study is carried out and the result of the proposed algorithm is compared to the ones in the literature. The findings revealed that SCWOA provides promising solutions which result in significantly lower production time.

In this paper exact solutions of two variants of a modified Camassa-Holm equation are determined by using direct ansatze. As a result, compactons solutions: solitons with the absence of infinite tails, solitons: nonlinear localized waves of infinite support, solitary patterns solutions having infinite slopes or cusps, and plane periodic solutions are established. It is also found that the qualitative change in the physical structure of solutions depends mainly on whether the exponent of the wave function u(x,t) and the expression (2k-c) are positive or negative.
