Input-Output Jumps of Scalar Linear Systems

In the classic control systems analysis a known difficulty is to determine a transient output response when non-zero (discontinuous) initial conditions are present. This difficulty is overcome by means of the presented input-output jump relations. For a system with order n and relative degree r = n - m, these relations relate the jump discontinuities of the input and its derivatives up to the order m - 1 to the jump discontinuities of the output and its derivatives up to the order n - 1. A simplified behavior theory is used in deducing these straightforward relations. A simple, complete solution to the initial conditions problem that uses neither generalized derivatives nor ad hoc assumptions is then presented. This paper presents a robust nonlinear control design for a control moment gyroscope (CMG) in its single-input/single-output (SISO) configuration. The CMG unit, model 750 from Educational Control Products, is described, as well as its SISO dynamics. The control design is based on a sliding-mode control approach and aims at tracking a desired output trajectory in a wide operational range, despite uncertainties on some model parameters and output disturbances. Results are obtained from both numerical simulations and real-time practical experiments to validate the controller. Abstract This paper deals with the output stabilization of time-delay systems with sector-bounded nonlinearity. In this paper we will consider the problem of absolute stability for a class of time-delay systems which can be represented as a feedback connection of a linear dynamical system with unknown parameters and an uncertainty nonlinearity satisfying a sector constraint. For a class of output control algorithms a controller providing output asymptotic stability of equilibrium position is designed.

Rejection of Unknown Biased Harmonic Disturbance for Nonlinear System with input Delay

In this paper a new approach for cancellation of a biased harmonic disturbance is proposed. Compared with a number of known results in this paper the disturbance compensation problem is solved when the output variable is measured only, a relative degree of the plant is arbitrary and the control channel has delay. The reaction wheel pendulum on a movable platform is considered as the plant to demonstrate how proposed approach can be plugged. Created by hand disturbance moves the platform in horizontal surface and the pendulum is oscillating. The second goal of this work is the development of mechatronic applications using in education.

The problem of designing an output feedback compensator for any biased sinusoidal disturbance is considered. In this paper, we will develop the approach presented in (Marino et al. , 2003). In (Marino et al. , 2003) a compensator of order (2 n +6) is proposed, which solves the posed problem by using the adaptive observers developed in (Marino and Tomei, 1995; Marino et al. , 2001). This problem is solved by a ( n + 4)-order compensator.

In this paper we study the problem of minimizing the weighted amplitude of the time response dire to a given fixed input signal for single-input/single-output (SISO) continuous-time systems and focus on obtaining rational suboptimal solutions, An EAS (Euler approximating system)-based method is proposed for designing a rational L(x)-suboptimal controller for SISO systems, It is shown that this rational approximation is the best one among a set of rational approximations, in the sense of providing the tightest upper bound and that it can approximate the optimal cost arbitrarily close.
