Irreducible decomposition of monomial ideals has an increasing number of applications from biology to pure math. This paper presents the slice algorithm for computing irreducible decompositions, Alexander duals and socles of monomial ideals. The paper includes experiments showing good performance in practice. A new high performance 3D printer using the column coordinate system and slice algorithm has been designed. A new solution has been proposed to solve the problem that the hydraulic rotary vane actuators require lots of end seals. The new 3D printer doesn't need consider the section difference of the rotation section. In this paper, first, the proposed 3D printer principle is given in detail. Then the designed prototype and the first experiments are presented demonstrating the novelty and the efficiency of our solution.
