sliding mode variable structure control strategy of bearingless induction motor based on inverse system decoupling

A bearingless induction motor is a multivariable, nonlinear and strong coupling object. To achieve its dynamic decoupling control with high performance and improve the system stability, a sliding mode variable structure (SMVS) control strategy based on inverse system decoupling is proposed. First, taking the stator current as the control variable, by means of inverse system method, the bearingless induction motor system is decoupled into four pseudolinear subsystems, including motor speed subsystem, rotor flux-linkage subsystem and two radial displacement component subsystems. Then, according to the SMVS control theory, the regulator is designed for each subsystem. To overcome the chattering problem of the system, an exponential reaching law is introduced to the SMVS regulator;based on Lyapunov theory, system stability is analyzed. From the simulation experimental results, it is clear that the system has better dynamic decoupling control performance, a stronger ability to resist load disturbance and stronger robustness to the variation of motor parameters. Based on the mathematical model of the permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM), a novel sliding mode variable structure input-output feedback linearization controller is proposed. A precision linearization method is employed to achieve input-output linearization and decoupling control of the motor, which is decoupled into a second-order linear speed subsystem and a first-order linear d-axis current subsystem. sliding mode variable structure is simple, and easy to combine with other intelligent methods, especially it has robustness to external disturbances. So the combination of sliding mode variable structure and feedback linearization could make the design method robust and quick dynamic. At the same time, an observer based on extended state observer is designed to evaluate the load torque of the system online. Theoretical analysis and matlab simulation results prove the effectiveness of the proposed method.

It is difficult to establish the precise mathematical model of agricultural wheeled robots with differential drive for path tracking control, due to characteristics of nonlinear, strong coupling and multivariable. Here, path tracking control is studied for agricultural wheeled robot with differential drive based on sliding mode variable structure. Firstly, the motion model of agricultural wheeled robots with differential drive is established and control goal is determined for path tracking. Then, sliding mode variable structure is applied to design the controller. Finally, tracking simulations were conducted with circle and sine curves to verify the controller's performance, and further real tests were carried out on a circle with a radius of 7 m at a test field. The simulations show that the robot can asymptotically stabilize the given trajectory when there is external interference, and the real tests indicate a good tracking performance with a maximum tracking of 0.21 m. The effectiveness of sliding mode controller is verified for trajectory tracking control of agricultural wheeled robots with differential drive. © 2018

A novel method for the stabilization of a class of networked control system (NCS) with communication delays has been presented. By constructing a sliding manifold that can compensates delay, a sliding mode variable structure control scheme that has exponentially approaching characteristic is proposed. System stability under the control law is then analyzed, and maximum allowed network-induced delay is obtained. A numerical example has been considered to illustrate the main results.

Based on the mathematical model of Vienna rectifier, the controller of Vienna rectifier is researched and designed. The voltage outer loop adopt the sliding mode variable structure control (SMC), in order to obtain a stable DC output voltage when Vienna rectifier is starting or is affected by the load disturbance and so on. The deviation of the output voltage is selected as the sliding mode switching function. For the chattering problems of the traditional index approach rate, the variable index approach law is proposed in this paper. The current inner loop uses model predictive control on finite set (FCS-MPC) of no modulation unit, easy to add constraints, strong anti-interference ability. Finally, the proposed control strategy is simulated. The simulation results show that the method is correct and effective,the Vienna rectifier has strong robustness and anti-interference ability.

By analyzing the correlative relationships of the motor and the load of a crane lifter, a mathematics model for a crane system is established. Based on this model, a speed sliding mode controller is designed by regarding the load speed as the control object. To guarantee the higher running performance of the system, a rotor flux sliding mode controller and a rotor flux observer are designed. The running speed is also planned and designed according to different operating conditions. A simulation model of the control system is presented in Matlab/Simulink environment. The simulation results show the control system has satisfied dynamic performance and strong robustness to disturbances.

Dynamic modeling of Brake in Power-Split DHT and Pressure Tracking Control with sliding mode variable structure Method

Since the mode transition performance of power-split DHT (Dedicated Hybrid Transmission) are directly influenced by torque dynamic characteristic of the brake, the brake pressure should be controlled accurately. In this paper, a dynamic model of brake and its pressure regulating system are established by considering system nonlinear characteristics and input disturbances, and a sliding mode variable structure controller is developed to track the brake pressure. First, the operation principle of DHT's pressure regulating system is introduced. Second, the dynamic models of solenoid proportional pressure valve, electromagnetic direction switching valve and brake are established with AMESim parametric plant model. Furthermore, a sliding mode variable structure controller for tracking pressure is designed based on MATLAB/Simulink. Finally, the AMESim parametric plant model is validated by measurements, and the proposed controller are verified by AMESim and Simulink co-simulation. The results show that the system dynamics can be well characterized by the AMESim parametric plant model. The target pressure can be tracked rapidly and accurately by using sliding mode variable structure controller and the controller has better robustness.

This paper presents the design of a sliding mode variable structure observer, which is used for the fault detection and isolation of sensors and actuators in uncertain nonlinear systems. Firstly, the coordinate of a system output equation is transformed, and a sensor fault is equivalent to an actuator one by using a low-pass filter. Then using a coordinate transformation to transform the equivalent equation into three sub-systems, and the uncertainties only exist in the second one, while the first contains actuator faults and the third has equivalent actuator faults. The design of three observers, respectively, corresponding to the above sub-systems, the actuator faults, sensor faults as well as the unknown input disturbances are reconstructed separately as a result. Two simulation examples confirm the truth of effectiveness of the reconstruction plan.

According to the application and development of sliding mode variable structure control theory, discussed the rapid development of the two different sliding surfaces in recent years, focusing on the development courses advantages and disadvantages of them. Alleviation of chattering is the most important problem in sliding mode control. This article summarized two kinds of methods: reaching law and continuous methods. Finally, the recent ten years development and further research directions are discussed.
