Future media delivery includes immersive applications using augmented reality (AR) technologies, which mix virtual elements into physical reality. This technological trend innovates the experience of online services and content, with interactions between parallel digital worlds. However, the channel for delivering this technology has challenges in meeting the requirements for correct operation, such as correct and timely allocation of processing and memory and respecting energy consumption. Multi-User Augmented Reality (MUAR) service employs multi-access edge computing for collaborative 3D interactions on mobile devices. Service Function (SF) chains contain this service across edge servers to enable partial SF sharing among users with similar views. We propose the dynamic multi-criteria and mobility-aware Orchestration of SF Chains for Immersive Multi-user applications called OSCIM, which minimizes SF chaining instantiation costs with partial SF sharing while maintaining strict computational demands of MUAR services. Results indicate that OSCIM enhances session acceptance, resource efficiency, and latency compared to existing methods.

Dragonfly topologies have gathered great interest as one of the most promising interconnection patterns for the networks at the core of HPC clusters. In this paper, we configure several simulated InfiniBand-based clusters with a Dragonfly topology, and we analyze the performance in these configurations of the routing engines included in the latest release of the InfiniBand Subnet Manager (OpenSM v3.3.19).

The paper deals with one of the key engineering design problem - an electroniccomputer equipment partitioning. The partitioning problem belongs to the class of NP-complex and NP-hard problems. The problem is defined as a partition of a graph into parts. A search architecture, based on a novel strategy “bioinspired search - evolution”, involves two levels. The authors suggest a new integrated approach involved a bacterial optimizationat at the first stage and a genetic algorithm, which can obtain quazi-optimal solutions in polynomial time, at the second stage. In terms of this approach the authors developed a two-level combined algorithm and a software for computational research with the use of test examples and benchmarks. Tests and experiments showed the effectiveness of the suggested approach. The time complexity of algorithms can be represented as O(nlogn) in the best case and O(n 2 ) in the worst case.

Real-world optimization problems are very difficult and have high degrees of uncertainty. Conventional optimization algorithms have some limitations (i.e., local solution attainment and/or divergence) in solving such problems. On the other hand, meta-heuristic algorithms prove to be competent in outperforming deterministic algorithms, especially when the complexity of the problem increases. Practitioners have utilized those unconventional algorithms for the past few decades. This paper presents an overview of the literature employing the Artificial Bee Colony (ABC) algorithm in their solution approach. The ABC algorithm is a recently introduced population-based meta-heuristic optimization technique inspired by the intelligent foraging behavior of honeybee swarms. Key features of the ABC algorithm, as well as its performance characteristics, are also discussed.

This paper presents the sizing optimization of photovoltaic panels and batteries in home energy management systems using the in-house developed web-based application. The application can recommend an optimal size of the PV panels and batteries to minimize power consumption from the grid for residential homes. Users can vary configurations and energy constraints, such as a home load profile and include EV in their design for best results. The optimization algorithm is performed on the developer side and the results are rendered on the web-based user interface. A case study of a residential house with a monthly electricity usage of 366 kWh is chosen to test the developed software. With the design suggestion, the system is simulated with real irradiance data over a month and it is found that this house has a potential of lower grid energy consumption up to 20% with 2 PV panels installed and the saving number increases to nearly 100% saving with both PV and battery installed.

The object of consideration is design automation and prototyping of complex signals and their generation and processing devices. The subject of the analysis is the substantiation of the structure, composition and implementation method of a modeling system aimed at modeling and prototyping promising devices for the generation and processing of complex signals based on fast transformations in Galois fields. The purpose of the analysis is a reasonable choice of methods and tools for computational, simulation and prototyping that achieve high display accuracy, performance, flexibility and ease of modeling. The solutions are based on the principles and mathematical models developed by the authors: methods and algorithms for fast transformations in Galois fields, an algebraic representation model and the structure of fast delay acquisition devices for a subclass of sequences. The article is devoted to the development of a software and hardware modeling systems that allows the most accurate mapping of fast algebraic transformations in Galois fields to algorithmic models of various levels of representation to ensure high performance, flexibility and ease of modeling, as well as prototyping of promising devices for the generation and processing of complex signals. The results of the work will be useful in the design of promising devices of various information and communication systems, scientific research, as well as in the educational process.

This paper presents the development of a mathematical model representation of variable series capacitors which are also known as flexible AC transmission systems (FACTS) in power system economic dispatch. The objective of this research is to find the optimal locations of FACTS devices for improved economic dispatch. The proposed approach is based on the decomposition-coordination method and the network compensation technique. Taking the advantages of accumulated experience in power system optimization and the existence of the optimal power flow (OFF) software, the software development cost for implementing the proposed algorithm is reduced. In this paper, digital simulation studies on small power systems with and without variable series capacitors were conducted respectively. The purpose of these simulation studies is to assess the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm in minimizing the operating cost and enhancing the system performance. The results of the simulation studies and the proposed algorithm are presented and discussed in greater detail.

Since adopting globalization in 1991, India's economy has become the fifth-largest in the world. This is due to technological advancements and the modernization of industries. Consequently, many people have moved from rural areas to cities in pursuit of jobs and modern conveniences. This rapid population shift has greatly influenced Land-Use and LandCover (LULC). Monitoring these LULC changes is vital for understanding landscape transformations. Moradabad District, Uttar Pradesh, was selected to study the changes in LULC for current research work. Landsat 8 OLI data for years 2014, 2019, and 2024 for the same season i.e. summer, was taken to minimize variations in environmental factors. However, to ensure optimal spectral information, the Optimum Index Factor (OIF) was chosen to get the best possible combination of satellite image bands for each year to minimize data redundancy. Moreover, various indices like the Biophysical Composition-Index (BCI), Normalized-Difference-Vegetation Index (NDVI), and Modified-Normalized-Difference-Water-Index (MNDWI), were used for assessing enhanced features in LULC changes. ArcGIS Pro 2.9.0 software was used to perform supervised classification using Maximum-Likelihood Classification (MLC), Support-Vector-Machine (SVM), and Random-Tree (RT) algorithms for all mentioned years individually. Besides of it, the results of the above-mentioned algorithms were compared. Further, the results of the LULC maps revealed a significant shift in urbanization between 2014-2019 and 2019-2024. It will provide valuable insights for future agriculture and urban planning.
