This paper presents an artificial neural network applied to control a standalone microgrid in French Guiana. This microgrid is composed of a Photovoltaic (PV) source and a battery storage to supply a DC load. In this paper, different configurations of neural network associated with the Levenberg-Marquardt algorithm are tested to choose the best configuration to optimize the control of our system. Then, we focus on the advantage of using this type of control compared to the conventional proportional integral control (PI control). Finally, we present and discuss the results of our simulation obtained with Matlab Simulink software.

In this paper, we suggest a novel routing algorithm for network-on-chip (NoC) based on multilevel congestion control (MLCC). MLCC improves the routing efficiency when NoC is in moderate or severe congestion level. MLCC decides how to do congestion control depending on the different congestion level of the routers. Our experimental results show that MLCC achieves significant better performance than other traditional routing algorithms under uniform and transpose traffic.

One of the most important modules on the distribution management system (DMS) is the fault location framework, which requires an effective algorithm to identify the fault line channel from the data provided by different intelligent electronic devices (IEDs). The accuracy of this process leads to smart features of intelligent network monitoring and efficient isolation. This paper proposes the algorithm core of a fault locator software, based on undirected Dijkstra implemented in MATLAB, and co-simulated in three standard feeders systems with distributed generation using DSSim-PC and integrated in LabVIEW as a whole framework of a fault location manager.

In recent years, with the rapid development of smartphone devices and mobile cellular network technology, real-time virtual reality feedback software and games based on mobile phone cameras have developed rapidly. However, current existing real-scene item matching algorithms usually need to rely on Internet connections or require the high-performance computing power of devices to meet the demand. For this reason, this paper proposes a real-scene item registration algorithm based on the SURF algorithm, which has the advantages of good real-time performance, low calculation amount, and easy implementation. It can be adopted and further developed in real-scene software for item recognition and registration used in games and intelligent robots.

In industry we see an increasing interest in (evolutionary) many objective optimization algorithms. However, the majority of engineers only using, not researching, optimizers have a limited understanding of the pros and cons of different algorithms and therefore rely on either third-party recommendations or benchmark tests to pick the most suitable methods for their problems. Unfortunately, most benchmarks are targeting an academic audience leaving the practitioner often in doubt about the correct choices. In this article we try to outline the essential requirements for a many-objective optimization algorithm portfolio management from an industrial perspective and compare the situation in our field to another domain with similar issues, image processing. We want to address one of the core practical issues: “Given a limited computational or time budget for my optimization project, which optimization algorithms should I try?”.

In the research and development of practical MT (machine translation) system, the translation of complex long sentences is a major problem. Aiming at the Korean translation proofreading system of syntax and phrases, which attaches importance to accuracy calibration and can not solve the problem of poor coherence, an intelligent proofreading system based on improved phrase translation model is proposed. In addition, the overall system is designed. Through the overall architecture of the system, the software and hardware of the system are designed, and the hardware design is mainly the search module, so as to improve the search accuracy. By designing the same knowledge representation form for different languages, the universality of the algorithm for different language translation systems is realized. The results show that the system can meet the proofreading needs of users and improve the proofreading efficiency.

Engineers developing complex embedded SoC designs are increasingly finding that traditional verification techniques are inadequate for delivering bug-free first pass silicon. The design community is turning to pre-silicon prototypes built from FPGA devices as a technique for meeting such challenges. We propose 'HashChip' and implement a strategy for its pre-silicon prototyping. The 'HashChip' is a hardware architecture aimed at providing a unified solution for three different cryptographic manipulation detection codes extensively used in the field of network security, namely, MD5, SHAI and RIPEMD160. Prototyping is attempted on a wide variety of FPGAs prior to ASIC implementation and the performance of the architecture is analyzed.

Recently, there has been an extensive research effort in building efficient large language model (LLM) inference serving systems. These efforts not only include innovations in the algorithm and software domains but also constitute developments of various hardware acceleration techniques. Nevertheless, there is a lack of simulation infrastructure capable of accurately modeling versatile hardware-software behaviors in LLM serving systems without extensively extending the simulation *** paper aims to develop an effective simulation tool, called LLMServingSim, to support future research in LLM serving systems. In designing LLMServingSim, we focus on two limitations of existing simulators: (1) they lack consideration of the dynamic workload variations of LLM inference serving due to its autoregressive nature, and (2) they incur repetitive simulations without leveraging algorithmic redundancies in LLMs. To address these limitations, LLMServingSim simulates the LLM serving in the granularity of iterations, leveraging the computation redundancies across decoder blocks and reusing the simulation results from previous iterations. Additionally, LLMServingSim provides a flexible framework that allows users to plug in any accelerator compiler-and-simulation stacks for exploring various system designs with heterogeneous processors. Our experiments demonstrate that LLMServingSim produces simulation results closely following the performance behaviors of real GPU-based LLM serving system with less than 14.7% error rate, while offering 91.5× faster simulation speed compared to existing accelerator simulators.

The paper provide a new algorithm for multiple radar time series similarity matcing. The main difficulty for multiple radar time series similarity matching lies in huge data amount and too many factors will be considered. So, the previous algorithm on this area has existance of false dismissals and false alarms. The traditional methods mostly based on Euclidean distance and pay little attention to the influence of amplitude change, frequency persistence and internal structure of sequence. The matching method held out in the paper firstly devided the radar spatial data into certatin segments based on its' spatial position. Then, the mutidemession time series in each data segments can maped to a time interval with certain length. The step can transform multiple radar time series to three-demession time series and greatly reduce the complexity of algorithm. In order to improve the accuracy of the method, some weighted factor with consideration of amplitude change, frequency persistence and internal structure of radar sequence is carried out to define an accuracy distance measure for two sequences. With the predefined distance measure, a multiple radar time series similarity measure modal and an algrothm for similarity matching is discussed in detail. At the end of the paper, the method in the paper is applied in actually radar observed data and proved its better performance.

This paper explores the origins and consequences of two inherent non-uniformities in the software systems engineering process: 1. An inherent non-uniformity of requirements "levels" in the beginning of the software systems requirements engineering process. 2. A resultant lack of parallelism between levels of refinement of abstraction in the expression of requirements and levels of refinement and decomposition in systems and software design. These non-uniformities are shown to be potentially contributing factors, possibly the principal contributing factors, to the "algorithms as requirements" versus "algorithms as design" conundrum, a key component of the "what" versus "how" distinction in software requirements versus software design documents that has never been as settled as we might wish it to have been. A reasonably rigorous argument is made that the first of these non-uniformities is related to an intrinsically ambiguous role for algorithms in the software systems engineering process and that it is intrinsic problem, not an artifact of poor requirements syntax in the various languages in which requirements are expressed. As the second problem, the lack of parallelism between levels of requirements and levels of design follows from the first, it too would seem therefore to be an intrinsic issue, not unique to any specific requirements or design methodology. To resolve the ambiguity and the problems it has lead to in software systems engineering processes, the necessity for a dualistic view of algorithms is proposed and the practical engineering consequences of the dualism are discussed. A careful set of semantics to distinguish between the dualism's alternatives is proposed and recommended for use in organizing and expressing requirements for software intensive systems.
