Selection of software development methodology by Employing a Multi-Criteria Decision-Making Approach Based on Logarithmic Bipolar Complex Fuzzy Aggregation Operators

Numerous factors, including project complexity, team size, customer collaboration, and development pace, must be taken into consideration while choosing a software development methodology. This problem is a multi-criteria decision-making dilemma since the many criteria frequently fight with one another and fluctuate in priority. In order to systematically select the best methodology, the multi-criteria decision-making technique assists in quantifying and assessing these factors. This ensures that decisions are made in a fair and informed manner within the context of the challenging software development environment. Thus, in this article, we develop a multi-criteria decision-making approach in the setting of bipolar complex fuzzy information for the prioritization and selection of optimal software development methodology. For this, we first, invent logarithmic operational laws and associated results for the bipolar complex fuzzy set. Then, we invent four aggregation operators by utilizing these logarithmic operational laws under the structure of bipolar complex fuzzy information that is, logarithmic bipolar complex fuzzy weighted averaging, logarithmic bipolar complex fuzzy ordered weighted averaging, logarithmic bipolar complex fuzzy weighted geometric, and logarithmic bipolar complex fuzzy ordered weighted geometric. After that, we solve a multi-criteria decision-making dilemma related to the prioritization and selection of software development methodology by considering the artificial data in the setting of bipolar complex fuzzy information and achieve that "Agile" is the optimal software development methodology among the considered four different software development methodologies, i.e., Waterfall, DevOps, Spiral, and Agile. In the last, we investigate the comparison study of the deduced theory to a few current theories to reveal the importance and supremacy of the constructed theory.

The diffusion of software into all areas of life and all forms of business, increases the demand for high-quality and secure software products. software development methodologies are designed to improve the quality of software by incorporating practices that promote quality in the developed software. software security is an important facet of software quality, particularly in this era, where most software is deployed for use over the Internet. Most research on developing high-quality and secure software is normally focused on teams at the expense of individual developers. In trying to fill this gap, in this paper we propose an agile secure-software development methodology. We design a methodology that promotes quality and security in the software products of solo developers. We integrate quality practices with lightweight security practices to produce agile secure software development practices. We draw quality practices from a solo software development framework designed in our previous study, while security practices are drawn from existing lightweight methodologies. We adapt Keramati and Mirian-Hosseinabadis algorithm to integrate the two sets of practices, taking care to maintain an optimum degree of agility in the target methodology. We evaluate the utility of the resultant methodology through a case study. Results from the case study show that our proposed methodology can be used to build quality and secure software products without compromising the agility of the methodology.

software security for agile methods, particularly for those designed for individual developers, is still a major concern. With most software products deployed over the Internet, security as a key component of software quality has become a major problem. In addressing this problem, this research proposes a solo software development methodology (SSDM) that uses as minimum resources as possible, at the same time conforming to the best practice for delivering secure and high-quality software products. Agile methods have excelled on delivering timely and quality software. At the same time research also shows that most agile methods do not address the problem of security in the developed software. A metasynthesis of SSDMs conducted in this thesis confirmed the lack practices that promote security in the developed software product. On the other hand, some researchers have demonstrated the feasibility of incorporating existing lightweight security practices into agile methods. This research uses Design Science Research (DSR) to build, demonstrate and evaluate a lightweight SSDM. Using an algorithm adapted for the purpose, the research systematically integrates lightweight security and quality practices to produce an agile secure-solo software development methodology (Secure-SSDM). A multiple-case study in an academic and industry setting is conducted to demonstrate and evaluate the utility of the methodology. This demonstration and evaluation thereof, indicates the applicability of the methodology in building high-quality and secure software products. Theoretical evaluation of the agility of the Secure-SSDM using the four-dimensional analytical tool (4-DAT) shows satisfactory compliance of the methodology with agile principles. software development is mostly carried by a group of individuals. software development methodologies are heavily utilized to organize these individuals and keep track of the entire software development process. Although previously proposed software development methodologies meet the needs of the industry and the firms, they are not usually suitable for research-based software projects that are carried by universities and individual researchers. In this paper, we aim to show the necessity of a new software development methodology for research-based problems carried by universities. The literature review will show the differences between industry and university software projects from certain aspects. These findings will be supported by the authors own research on the area. This qualitative research involves collecting data through interviews and applying Grounded Theory to better understand the development process.

The industry invests great amounts of resources in automation and maintenance systems. To encourage more efficient systems a design of a methodology is needed, it must work for software development in industrial automation processes. To obtain guidelines to design such a methodology, a literature review was performed. As a result, a methodology was developed based on good practices and lessons learned from software Engineering. It was made for the development of advanced structured software in industrial automation systems. Through user experiences analysis a positive validation was obtained, it confirms that a methodology for mechatronic and automation systems is necessary, also it is an almost unknown area, additionally, some observations about how to teach the methodology were also obtained.

Prototype Fast Breeder Reactor (PFBR) is sodium cooled reactor which is in the advanced stage of construction in Kalpakkam, India. Versa Module Europa bus based Real Time Computer (RTC) systems are deployed for Instrumentation & Control of PFBR. RTC systems have to perform safety functions within the stipulated time which calls for highly dependable software. Hence, well defined software development methodology is adopted for RTC systems starting from the requirement capture phase till the final validation of the software product. V-model is used for software development. IEC 60880 standard and AERB SG D-25 guideline are followed at each phase of software development. Requirements documents and design documents are prepared as per IEEE standards. Defensive programming strategies are followed for software development using C language. Verification and validation (V&V) of documents and software are carried out at each phase by independent V&V committee. Computer aided software engineering tools are used for software modelling, checking for MISRA C compliance and to carry out static and dynamic analysis. Various software metrics such as cyclomatic complexity, nesting depth and comment to code are checked. Test cases are generated using equivalence class partitioning, boundary value analysis and cause and effect graphing techniques. System integration testing is carried out wherein functional and performance requirements of the system are monitored. (C) 2015 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

The paper discusses the adoption and implementation of Agile software development methodology (SDM) in Botswana software development Industry (BSDI) organizations. Contemporary SDM models are not adopted and used in Africa inclusive Botswana, yet general literature review indicates that Agile SDM models are now the solution to many software development project problems. In light of this observation the study conducted an evaluation to determine the extent and level of Agile SDM adoption and implementation in BSDI organizations. A qualitative case study research was done based on the constructivist theory for people's knowledge is shaped based on their perceptions and external reality value (research phenomenon). The research design therefore ought to describe and explain the underpinning forces regulating the adoption and usage of Agile SDM in BSDI organizations. The theories Technology of Acceptance Theory (TAM2), Innovation Diffusion Theory (IDT) and Socio-Technical Systems Theory of Acceptance (STSTAT) were used to formulate the conceptual framework and also guide the questions populated in the research instruments;structured interview, semi -structured interview and an observation check list. Nine case studies of individual BSDI organizations were purposefully sampled and data gathered through the research instruments used. The results of the research conclude that most BSDI organizations are still using Traditional SDM or AD -HOC SDM to develop software than Agile SDM.

Quality is the degree of excellence of a product and one of the most important factors of software projects that mainly defines user satisfaction and success of the project. software methodologies represent a variety of tasks, processes, and roles to manage time, cost, and quality. The invention, innovation, and diffusion for technological advancement creates challenges of software projects, thus several existing methodologies albeit with limited scope. A software product is highly influenced by the latest technology and distributed project management opportunities. Management issues are introduced for a virtual project management environment when resource persons are in another corner of the world. To resolve the problem, this research presents a new software project management model (4-LPdM) with alternative actions and practices to effectively manage. The model was presented to 20 different organizations and 29 respondents gave feedback who had experience between 1-16 years in multiple sections of software engineering. The model is evaluated based on the factors of advanced PMBOK 4.0 (scope, cost, quality, resource, risk, plan) and two (management, sustainability) additional features according to the demand of experts. This research illustrates statistical analyses to examine the significance of the proposed model besides a comprehensive comparative study of the traditional methodology.

The sustainability of digital products is not limited to ecological aspects. From a strategic perspective, ecological as well as social and economic aspects are important. From a comprehensive understanding of sustainability, continuity in general is concerned, including product development and management itself. Sustainable digital product management should integrate the perspectives of the customer, the technology and the company and also pursue different sustainability strategies. From a strategic perspective, internal and external resources as well as corporate functions and temporary tasks should be balanced.
