This paper presents a form grinding simulation of twin-screw compressor rotors with high precision. The simulation interface has been developed using *** programming language based on SWapi (solidworks Application Programming Interface), and the mathematical model of rotor form grinding has been established for generating the tool-feeding path. Based on the proposed procedure, the machined rotor model can be rapidly obtained with the required precision. Furthermore, the grinding area and tool abrasion on the grinding wheel can be both estimated and displayed through the use of existing SW tools for longevity assessment.

The traditional design method of bearing is mainly based on the manual design process which invites numerous calculations. The small change in shape or size of assembly component will cause massive chain reaction like revision of blueprint because of many interrelated design issues. Hence, the bearing design needs to be changed in order to match the altered component. Advanced design methods such as CAD/CAM provide solutions for these issues by using of parametric modeling technique. This paper presents a typical knowledge based engineering system for rapid design and modeling of bearings based on operating conditions by integrating commercially available CAD package solidworks with Microsoft Access. An inference engine and proper user interface was developed for bearing design for assisting the engineering designers. The developed system proved itself as better application of engineering by utilizing the reuse of the design knowledge.

Use development platform of solidworks software to improve the efficiency of generating numerical concrete and aggregate content and can handle with complex geometric shape aggregate. Propose a gravel aggregate generation method that cutting entity with planes and a cobble aggregate generation method that lofting of alpine curves to produce pebbles. Improvements of delivery method are made in three aspects: using the background grid with gradient mesh density to find delivery position;checking interference with solidworks api function;and moving aggregate close to and contact with another aggregate in three directions freely. And the generation of three-grade numerical concrete is taken as an example. The results show that the method is simple and reliable, and the aggregate content of grade two, grade three and grade four concrete can reach 55, 64 and 72%, respectively, and the aggregate with complex shape can be simulated. This paper shows that the pretreatment process of mass numerical concrete is completed for the first time by using solidworks, and the pretreatment method of the original background mesh is improved, so that it is more suitable for the large pretreatment process. This method can provide a good reference for the pretreatment process of mass and high-content numerical concrete.

This paper describes the study of aerodynamic processes of drying of capillary-porous materials, in particular for CAD model of wood drying chamber. This model is designed in the solidworks environment. The research is done by creating an experiment in the solidworks Flow Simulation environment, by which we were able to recreate the aerodynamic processes in the studied CAD model. As a result of the experiment, we obtained the numerical values of the wood drying agent parameters according to the time iterations, including temperature, humidity and velocity of air masses. For parameterization of this CAD model, we created a software that can automatically design components and create assembly by using solidworks api. In addition, the software provides an opportunity to study of the interaction of aerodynamic processes of CAD model and the stacks of lumber, through its representation in the form of a three-dimensional array, whose elements are 3D cubes. This representation allows us to use the theory of cellular automata during this study. Also in this paper, you can see the results of modeling the air masses trajectory, as well as the graphs of temperature and humidity change of the wood drying agent according to the time iterations.

Study on the cutting time of the hypoid gear tooth flank

Hypoid-gear cutting is a highly specified and complicated metal cutting process. The degree of freedom (DOF) of a six-axis computer numerical control (CNC) machine tools is sufficiently high to emulate the complex generating motion of conventional hypoid-gear cutting. This study presents a proposal for a constant material removal rate (CMRR) cutting process for hypoid gears with the aid of CNC flexibility. The relative spatial relationship between the cutter and the workpiece is kept strictly identical to the machine settings of the conventional hypoid generator. A hypoid gear cutting plan is developed to implement the CMRR concept by varying the feed rate and cradle roll velocity (CRV) to retain the cutting torque within a certain range during the cutting process. A CRV function can be numerically obtained to provide a material-removal polynomial (MRP) curve. The validation of the proposed CMRR process is experimentally verified on a six-axis CNC hypoid-gear generator by measuring the electrical current of the cutter spindle motor, which is proportional to the cutting torque. Machining time is reduced to 38%, and the maximum cutting torques is not exceeded. (C) 2014 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.

Assembly sequence planning has drawn the attention of many researchers over the last years. Despite, the great development of CAD software in many aspects (simulation algorithms, interfaces, and ergonomics), automatic generation of assembly sequence planning from CAD assembly remains an issue to improve especially with the increasing complexity of industrial products. In this paper, an approach of assembly sequence planning generation from a CAD assembly model is presented. In order to generate feasible assembly sequence planning, the developed approach begins with the exploration of CAD assembly. Then, a collision analysis is performed to identify all possible obstacles during the components' motion. An example of CAD assembly is presented in all sections of this paper in order to demonstrate the efficiency of the proposed approach.

The assembly sequence plan (ASP) is a relatively new concept that has drawn the attention of many researchers over the last years. In spite of the enormous development of CAD Software in many aspects, the automatic generation of ASP from CAD assembly remains a subject to improve especially with the growing complexity of industrial products. This article presents an ASP generation approach based on CAD assembly data. To generate ASP, the developed method is composed of two mains steps. The first one is the extraction of the CAD assembly data. To identify all possible obstacles during the components' displacement, an interference analysis process is performed in the second step. An illustrative example of the CAD assembly is detailed in the different stages of this article.

The current design method of the pot rubber bearing and the existing problems have been analysised. It was ensured that dimension driving method was applied in the solidworks modeling driven by Visual Basic. The pre-processing of FEA on the upper bearing plate based on solidworks Simulation was ensured, and took the part as an example to show how to use Visual Basic to drive solidworks Simulation to realize FEA.

Multicoptor unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) are popular robotics platforms in various research and applications fields. Research in robotics, control, estimation and computer vision relies heavily on open-source software and hardware to build custom UAV. This is motivated by lower cost of material and rapid development desire. The presented tool automates the task of obtaining realistic models for simulation and visualization of multicoptors using state-of-the-art Computer Aided Design engineering tools (CAD). Users interact with the software through a desktop application that offers interface to CAD tools, hardware database and simulation files generation. Custom models can be generated for three popular multirotor simulators. Modeling parameters accuracy has been validated using data of IRIS+ quadcopter model.
