Cost -based importance measures (CIMs) enable efficient prioritization of system components and cost-effective strategies for reliable operation of complex systems with minimized expenses. However, existing CIMs are limited to scenarios with well-defined partial derivatives of total improvement cost concerning component reliability. Furthermore, in the cost minimization reliability optimization model (ROM), these CIMs only assess the effect of varying component reliability on overall cost, ignoring the comprehensive impact of constraints on component ranking. To bridge this gap, we propose a novel cost -based importance measure tailored for the cost minimization ROM, called the cost minimization ROM -based importance measure (CMRIM). This measure offers a comprehensive assessment of how variations in component reliability impact both the objective function and constraints, irrespective of the existence of partial derivatives of total improvement cost concerning component reliability. The CMRIM mechanism is subsequently examined to guide the formulation of optimization rules. Theoretical analysis confirms CMRIM's effectiveness in guiding reliability optimization strategies. Additionally, a CMRIM-based genetic algorithm (CMGA) is developed for the cost minimization ROM. Empirical results across various system scales demonstrate CMGA's ability to pinpoint optimal solutions with minimal cost. Moreover, CMGA exhibits accelerated convergence, heightened robustness, and superior computational efficiency compared to alternative optimization methods.

We have studied the AC-4 algorithm and then present key value ordering heuristic forming the new solving algorithm BT-KVV, which is based on the AC-4 algorithm. This algorithm takes full advantage of the state information of the data structure used in the AC-4 algorithm after the process of arc consistency. The algorithm sorts the values of the variables' domain according to the key importance of the values. So this order forces the solving algorithm to give priority to extend the key values of variables. In this way, the efficiency of the solving algorithm can be improved a lot. The result of our experiments shows that our algorithm has much more advantage over other solving algorithms. © 2010 IEEE.

We have studied the AC-4 algorithm and then present value ordering heuristic for solving algorithm BT-MSV which is based on the AC-4 algorithm. This algorithm takes full advantage of supported information which is recorded in the data structure of the AC-4 algorithm during the process of arc consistency. The algorithm sorts the value of the variables' domain according to the supported information. So this order enforces the algorithm to extend the values of variables which have more support. In this way, the efficiency of the algorithm can be improved. The result of our experiments shows that our algorithm has much more advantage over other solving algorithms. ©2010 IEEE.

Optimized vehicle scheduling and filling model based on effective space and integrated solving algorithm

We established an integrated and optimized model of vehicle scheduling problem and vehicle filling problem for solving an extremely complex delivery mode-multi-type vehicles, non-full loads, pickup and delivery in logistics and delivery system. The integrated and optimized model is based on our previous research result-effective space method. An integrated algorithm suitable for the integrated and optimized model was proposed and corresponding computer programs were designed to solve practical problems. The results indicates the programs can work out optimized delivery routes and concrete loading projects. The model and algorithm have many virtues and are valuable in practice.

New multi-objective optimization model for tourism systems with fuzzy data and new algorithm for solving this model

Tourism is one of the fastest-growing industries in the world and the most significant service sector industry. A fundamental question that can be prompted is how to minimize the total tour cost and, at the same time, design the tour to make the tourists get maximum satisfaction. This paper proposes a new multi-objective optimization model for tourism systems. We have considered problem modelling in the form of multi-objective optimization in which we can optimize the conflicting goals at the same time. Here we have considered a provider of tour packages that intends to minimize its total costs and, at the same time, maximize the satisfaction of tourists with their packages. In our proposed model, some of the model parameters are fuzzy numbers, so an appropriate algorithm is proposed to solve the multi-objective optimization model. The results can offer constructive suggestions on how to design tours on the part of tourism enterprises and choose a proper tour. The main advantage of this study is to consider the problem of optimizing tourism systems in the form of a multi-objective optimization problem that uses both fuzzy and non-fuzzy numbers at the same time. Also, to deal with this specific multi-objective optimization model, a new algorithm based on the Epsilon constraint method is proposed. The proposed algorithm is used in a case study, and in this example, it performed better than the other algorithms.

Considering the development of the hybrid wind and solar photovoltaic generation and smart grid, Active Front-End (AFE) converters for high-power applications are facing significant opportunities and challenges related to power quality and efficiency. The Pre-programmed Pulse-Width Modulation (PPWM) techniques can strictly control the harmonic spectrum of a specified voltage or current waveform generated by a high-power AFE converters, and have been extensively applied to reduce or even eliminate the harmonic distortion with low switching losses for high-power converters in order to deal with these issues aforementioned. For the PPWM techniques with low switching frequency, Selective Harmonic Elimination (SHE) and Selective Harmonic Mitigation (SHM) have been the prevailing solutions and gain widespread popularity, among which SHM can provide further control of the harmonic spectrum in cases of similar switching losses to SHE. Over the past several decades, the applications of SHE and SHM have been extended to high-power AFE converters. Thus, the aim of this study is to provide a comprehensive literature review regarding their various formulations, solving algorithms, and existing problems to high-power AFE converters. In addition, the suggestions for future applications of PPWM in high-power AFE converters are also discussed.

A Determined Equivalent and algorithms of solving a Fuzzy-linear Programming Problem

Solution of a fuzzy-linear programming problem is reduced to solving a determined nonlinear extreme problem. The rules for ranking and estimating the domination for the fuzzy-sets, represented by LR fuzzy-intervals, are proposed. The monotonicity of fuzzy-sets, the left-hand sides of constraints and the optimality criterion of the problem relative to the vector of determined variables are established. The algorithms of solving the problem on the basis of the modified branch-arid-bound method are developed.

In this paper we study Boolean equation systems, and how to eliminate variables from them while bounding the degree of polynomials produced. A procedure for variable elimination is introduced, and we relate the techniques to Grobner bases and XL methods. We prove that by increasing the degree of the polynomials in the system by one for each variable eliminated, we preserve the solution space, provided that the system satisfies a particular condition. We then estimate how many variables we need to eliminate in order to solve the resulting system by re-linearization, and show that we get complexities lower than the trivial brute-force O(2n) when the system is overdetermined.
