Hybrid-adaptive differential evolution with decay function applied to transmission network expansion planning with renewable energy resources generation

As the country implements the reform of the electricity market and a large number of renewable energy resources (RES) are connected to the grid, the model and algorithm of traditional transmission network expansion planning (TNEP) are not suitable. A model of TNEP is built, in which the investment cost of new lines and the market-based annual congestion surplus are selected as objective functions. A probabilistic DC power flow method is used to describe uncertainties of RES generation. A new algorithm, Hybrid-Adaptive Differential Evolution with Decay Function (HyDE-DF), is applied to solve the model of TNEP for the first time. Analysis and comparison in the IEEE 18-bus system and the 52-bus system in an area of Sichuan Province prove the feasibility, effectivity, and practicability of the model and solving algorithm. Some comparisons are performed using other variants of Differential Evolution (DE) and a swarm intelligence optimization algorithm to demonstrate the performance superiority of the new algorithm and new application. It is worth mentioning that in the 52-bus system of an area of Sichuan Province, the investment cost obtained by the new algorithm is at least one or two orders of magnitude lower than other algorithms.

Minimizing the total completion time of an urban delivery problem with uncertain assembly time

This paper studies a stochastic programming problem to minimize the total completion time consists of the travel time and the assembly time, for a new class of urban delivery problems. The problem is formulated into a chance-constrained programming problem and the probability distribution characteristics of the uncertainty of product assembly time are obtained using a statistical learning method. Then the original chance-constrained programming problem can be converted into an equivalent deterministic programming problem. Subsequently, an algorithm consisting of two sub-heuristics is proposed to solve the deterministic problem. Finally, comprehensive numerical experiments with real dataset show the superiority of the model and the algorithm.

Dynamical Input Reconstruction Problem for a Quasi-Linear Stochastic System

The problem of reconstructing unknown inputs in a quasi-linear stochastic system with diffusion depending on the phase state is investigated by means of the approach of the theory of dynamic inversion. The statement when the simultaneous reconstruction of disturbances in the deterministic and stochastic terms of the system is performed from the discrete information on a number of realizations of the stochastic process is considered. The problem is reduced to an inverse problem for ordinary differential equations describing the mathematical expectation and covariance matrix of the process. A finite-step software-oriented solving algorithm based on the method of auxiliary controlled models is proposed. The key result of the paper is an estimate for the convergence rate of the algorithm with respect to the number of measurable realizations. © 2018

An iterative correction method for practically LPN solving

The LPN problem, lying at the core of many cryptographic constructions for lightweight and postquantum cryptography, has recently received much attention. Accordingly, BKW, Gauss algorithm, and their improved or hybrid variants have been proposed to solve the LPN problem. In this paper, we propose an intelligent method for LPN solving from a wholly new perspective by iterative correcting the secret, which can successfully reduce the dimension of the LPN problem. While the challenge is that there are so many independent secret variables of the given checking parity equations with noise in LPN problems, a set of rules should be developed to effectively direct and correct the secret. To solve this problem, we skillfully introduce the genetic algorithm to simulate the process of iterative correction and further add vaccination technology to guide and speed up the iterative process. Owing to the small memory and data consumption of our algorithm, we conducted experiments and, for the first time, solved the largest practical LPN (256 , 1/8) instance in 30 days, which shows the superiority of our method. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first time the iterative correction method and the intelligent algorithm have been successfully applied to LPN problems.

New multi-objective optimization model for tourism systems with fuzzy data and new approach developed epsilon constraint method

Tourism is one of the fastest-growing industries in the world and the most significant service sector industry. A fundamental question that can be prompted is how to minimize the total tour cost and, at the same time, design the tour to make the tourists get maximum satisfaction. This paper proposes a new multi-objective optimization model for tourism systems with fuzzy data and new approach developed Epsilon constraint method. We have considered problem modelling in the form of multi-objective optimization in which we can optimize the conflicting goals at the same time. Here we have considered a provider of tour packages that intends to minimize its total costs and, at the same time, maximize the satisfaction of tourists with their packages. In our proposed model, some of the model parameters are fuzzy numbers, so an appropriate algorithm is proposed to solve the multi-objective optimization model. The results can offer constructive suggestions on how to design tours on the part of tourism enterprises and choose a proper tour. One of the advantages of the method used in this article is the simultaneous use of deterministic (certain) variables and fuzzy variables, which is presented as a multi-objective optimization model. Also, a new constraint is added to our model according to the relationship between cost and satisfaction level. Also, to deal with this specific multi-objective optimization model, a new algorithm with new approach Developed Epsilon constraint method is proposed. The proposed algorithm is used in a case study, and in this example, it performed better than the other algorithms.

Problem solving is a hot research area in educational technology. Arithmetic problem is the basis of many other problems thus it is important to develop algorithms to solve arithmetic problems. This paper proposes an arithmetic problem solver based on BERT model and mathematical cognitive pattern for solving the simple arithmetic word problems. Firstly, BERT model was used to obtain the semantic representation of the problem text. Then two different neural networks were adopted to identify the cognitive pattern and the variable contained in it successively. Finally, for each problem, all the variables are mapped to the corresponding cognitive pattern so as to instantiate an equation, and the program directly calculated the equation and got the answer. The experiment used 392 AddSub type problems from previous research and 474 Mix type problems collected in this paper. The result shows the solver achieved the 91.1% problems on Add-Sub type dataset and 75.5% problems on Mix-type dataset.

Small-Signal Stability Analysis and Voltage Control Parameter Design for DC Microgrids

Small-signal instability issues will occur in the DC microgrid when the high-frequency oscillation peaks of the voltage closed-loop transfer function are not effectively suppressed. To ensure the small-signal stability of DC microgrids, the concept of a small-signal stability domain for voltage control parameters is proposed. Based on the voltage closed-loop transfer function, a small-signal-stability-domain-solving algorithm is proposed. With this stability domain, the impact of voltage-proportional coefficient and voltage-integral coefficient on oscillation frequency (or damping factor) is quantitatively analyzed. In addition, the influence of current control parameters on the small-signal stability boundary is also analyzed. With the introduction of this stability domain, a design method for voltage control parameters has been proposed. The voltage control parameters, which are quantitatively designed by this method, are able to maintain the small-signal stability of the system. Finally, based on the RT-BOX hardware-in-the-loop experimental platform, a switching model for a typical DC microgrid is established. Additionally, the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm and designed control parameters is verified by multiple sets of experimental results.

In this paper, protocol insecurity problem is described, and AI planning system is used to solve the problem. Based on running characteristics and laws of cryptographic protocols, a planning-based formal model for cryptographic protocol analysis is presented, after its first-order syntax, formal definition and operational semantics are given, formalization for protocol honest agents, the intruder and protocol insecurity goals are presented, and a SAT-based solving algorithm for attack planning is proposed.
