The problem of transmitting a remote source via multiple agents to a single destination is considered with secrecy constraints. In particular, noisy versions of a source are observed by multiple agents who then encode and transmit their observations to a decoder over dedicated noisy channel. The decoder should be able to reconstruct the remote source within a certain distortion limit. In addition, there exists an eavesdropper with correlated side information to the source who is capable of wiretapping the links from the agents to the decoder so as to extract as much information as possible about the source. Therefore, the agents should encode their observations in such a way that while as less information as possible is leaked to the eavesdropper the decoder can satisfy the distortion constraint. For this problem, we study the tradeoffs among agents' transmission rates, experienced distortion at the destination, and equivocation rates at the eavesdropper, and provide an achievable region.

We prove a new extremal inequality, motivated by the vector Gaussian broadcast channel and the distributed source coding with a single quadratic distortion constraint problem. As a corollary, this inequality yields a generalization of the classical vector entropy-power inequality (EPI). As another corollary, this inequality sheds insight into maximizing differential entropy of a sum of jointly distributed random variables, generalizing a classical result of Cover and Zhang

Digital communication has proliferated in a big way in the previous years. The advantages of digital communication are improved efficiency, better transmission accuracy, better noise immunity, requirement of lesser bandwidth, secrecy, and standardisation of transmission/reception equipment. Digital communication in a shipboard application is used for transmission of voice, data and picture between ships in an operational environment where accuracy, secrecy and immunity to noise/interference is essential. The advent of latest equipment capable of advanced signal processing techniques will result in prolific use of digital communication in shipboard applications. The paper aims at bringing out various aspects of digital communication vis-&-vis the dense electromagnetic environment that exists on a naval platform and their compatibility. The use and applicability of source coding, digital modulation techniques, error control coding and data security in mitigating the electromagnetic interference in a ship borne environment are discussed. The various problems of cochannel/adjacent channel interference and the effect of random/burst noise on a digital communication system are also brought out. Achieving immunity of digital communication to interference by use of various spread spectrum techniques is also discussed.

We develop a multi-channel channel-optimized scheme for embedded zerotree wavelet (EZW) image compression in a noisy transmission environment. A block-based modification for EZW is applied to improve the robustness of EZW, and to produce several coded bitstreams for transmission over multiple channels with different noise conditions. Then the respective channel noise is considered in the rate-distortion analysis, and the resultant rate-distortion functions are used for optimal bit allocation among the coded bitstreams. The case of burst noise is analyzed as an example.

Multi-label image classification is a critical task in computer vision, in which the correlations between labels are typically exploited by modern classifiers for an effective classification. In this study, we propose LV-CIT, a black-box testing method that applies Combinatorial Interaction Testing (CIT) to systematically test the ability of classifiers to handle such correlations. Specifically, LV-CIT views each label of the label space as an input-parameter taking binary values (indicating whether an object appears in an image), and manages to generate a label value covering array as the set of test cases to cover certain combinations of label values. Then, for each test case, LV-CIT relies on an object library to generate composite test images that perfectly match the specified labels, and reports classification errors if such labels cannot be correctly recognised. The experimental results on two popular datasets with six state-of-the-art image classifiers show that LV-CIT is more efficient than the existing CIT tools in generating label value covering arrays. LV-CIT is also effective in errors revelation, as it can find 111% more errors by using 20% fewer test images than the existing methods for testing multi-label image classifiers.

Software serves as a cornerstone in the functionality of devices and systems that seamlessly integrate into our daily lives. However, the complexity of these systems, often developed by multiple programmers, leaves room for inadvertent errors in the code. These errors, known as software vulnerabilities, represent flaws or defects in the software's construction that malicious actors can exploit to gain unauthorized access or privileges within the system. Despite advancements in understanding vulnerabilities, the prevalence of reported vulnerabilities continues to rise, emphasizing the critical importance of software security research. In response to this growing concern, there is a pressing need for tools to assist programmers in identifying and mitigating vulnerabilities during the code development process. As part of our ongoing research paper into detection of vulnerabilities, along with methods for their prevention and detection. Furthermore, we delve into recent advancements in utilizing machine learning techniques to enhance vulnerability detection across various types of software vulnerabilities. We have tested on real data set and the results are better than existing models.

In dynamic edge environments, many nodes are constantly changing their geographical locations, leading to unstable network links and even disconnections among nodes relying on wireless communication. Existing research mainly considers optimizing resource allocation and task processing delays, ignoring the impact of transmission delays in fluctuating network environments. However, the transmission time of tasks or requests may be longer than the processing time, which can significantly affect the quality of service for delay-sensitive services. In such scenarios, the static strategies of EdgeMesh always perform terribly under unstable network. This makes the transmission time of task data fluctuate frequently, resulting in an increase in response time. Therefore, we proposed an adaptive strategy based on network-aware to improve the transmission delay. We implemented such a strategy by developing a proxy named NAP to assist EdgeMesh in dynamic traffic management. In order to adapt to the complex and volatile conditions of edge networks, NAP monitors every node in real-time. It determines the feasible path with the shortest expected transmission time based on the size of different task data, network and resources status among nodes, then proxies the traffic and forwards it in the kernel state. Numerous experimental results demonstrate that NAP can reduce task transmission time by $50 \%$ and significantly improve the end-to-end request latency in edge computing environments compared to native strategies of EdgeMesh.

We study state estimation via wireless sensor networks over fading channels affected by random packet loss. In the configuration examined, the sensors send their measurements to a single gateway, which decides upon the source coding scheme and the sensor transmitter power levels. The decision process is carried out on-line and adapts to changing channel conditions to achieve an optimal trade-off between estimation quality and sensor energy expenditure. In particular, if some channel conditions are poor, then the gateway commands the corresponding sensors to increase power levels and use multiple-description coding. Simulations based on measured channel data illustrate that the proposed scheme gives excellent results.

The paper addresses the fundamental information theoretic limits — in terms of achievable rates and distortions — in a broad class of multiterminal communication scenarios with general continuous-valued sources and channels. A general framework is presented which involves fine discretization of the source and channel variables followed by communication over the resulting discretized network. In order to evaluate fundamental performance limits under the proposed discretization process, convergence results for information measures are provided. The framework is used to study the distributed source coding in source coding, as well as the computation over multiple access channels in channel coding. In each case, a communication scheme is presented, the resulting achievable region is derived, and the region is evaluated for Gaussian sources and channels.

In this work, we investigate an instance of the Heegard-Berger problem with two sources and arbitrarily correlated side information at two decoders, in which the reconstruction sets at the decoders are degraded. Specifically, two sources are to be encoded in a manner that one of the two is reproduced losslessly by both decoders, and the other is reproduced to within some prescribed distortion level at one of the two decoders. We establish the optimal rate-distortion function for this model. The investigation of the result in some special cases also sheds light on the utility of joint compression of the two sources.
