What are the standard functions of electronic clinical pathways?

Purpose: The present study was performed to determine the standard functions of electronic clinical pathways (eCP) embedded in electronic medical records with regard to demand definition. Methods: The standard functions of eCP were decided by the required functions determined from interviews with hospital staff, those derived from the implementation of paper-based clinical pathways (CPs), and additional functions generated through the shift from a paper-based to an electronic system. Moreover, the proposed standard functions and those of eCP embedded in electronic medical records for large hospitals were compared by inter-views with five vendors. Results: Seventeen functions were deemed necessary for eCP, and these were classified into six categories: displaying, recording, ordering, editing, variance, and statistics. Although most of these functions are already included in eCP products, their implementations differ between products. Conclusions: We propose 17 standard functions required for eCP embedded in electronic medical records. The functions for editing patient checklists, checking the occurrence of variance, and statistics are especially important and should be implemented as standard functions. It is well known that solutions of many ordinary differential equations allow presentation in the power series form. In the paper we introduce and analyze rigorous conditions under which the later series (solutions) can be reduced to a finite sum of standard functions. Some areas of practical applicability of the proposed algorithm are discussed.

Hybridizing salp swarm algorithm with particle swarm optimization algorithm for recent optimization functions

The salp swarm algorithm (SSA) has shown its fast search speed in several challenging problems. Research shows that not every nature-inspired approach is suitable for all applications and functions. Additionally, it does not provide the best exploration and exploitation for each function during the search process. Therefore, there were several researches attempts to improve the exploration and exploitation of the meta-heuristics by developing the newly hybrid approaches. This inspired our current research and therefore, we developed a newly hybrid approach called hybrid salp swarm algorithm with particle swarm optimization for searching the superior quality of optimal solutions of the standard and engineering functions. The hybrid variant integrates the advantages of SSA and PSO to eliminate many disadvantages such as the trapping in local optima and the unbalanced exploitation. We have used the velocity phase of the PSO approach in salp swarm approach in order to avoid the premature convergence of the optimal solutions in the search space, escape from ignoring in local minima and improve the exploitation tendencies. The new approach has been verified on different dimensions of the given functions. Additionally, the proposed technique has been compared with a wide range of algorithms in order to confirm its efficiency in solving standard CEC 2005, CEC 2017 test suits and engineering problems. The simulation results show that the proposed hybrid approach provides competitive, often superior results as compared to other existing algorithms in the research community.

INTLIB is meant to be a readily available, portable, exhaustively documented interval arithmetic library, written in standard Fortran 77. Its underlying philosophy is to provide a standard for interval operations to aid in efficiently transporting programs involving interval arithmetic. The model is the BLAS package, for basic linear algebra operations. The library is composed of elementary interval arithmetic routines, standard function routines for interval data and values, and utility routines. The library can be used with INTBIS (Algorithm 681), and a Fortran 90 module to use the library to define an interval data type is available from the first author.

Exp-function and other standard function methods for solving nonlinear differential equations are generalized in this paper. An analytical criterion determining if a solution can be expressed in a form comprising standard functions is derived. New computational algorithm for automatic identification of the structure of the solution is constructed. The algorithm provides information if the solution can be expressed as a sum of standard functions, a ratio of sums of standard functions, or even a more complex algebraic form involving standard functions. In this paper a semi-analytical technique for generating quadrotor trajectories using the projection of sub-Riemannian curves on SE(3) onto R-3 is presented. The benefits of using these trajectories are that they have constant speed and acceleration magnitude, are smooth and analytically defined in terms of standard functions. Also, they are sub-optimal with respect to a weighted quadratic cost function of the translational and angular velocities. This paper shows, through simulation, that these curves are also dynamically feasible. In addition, a method for changing the velocity profile along these curves using time parametrisation, allowing for smooth rest-to-rest manoeuvres, is shown. An obstacle avoidance strategy using these analytically defined curves is demonstrated by producing multiple trajectories of different shapes. This is achieved by adding a final velocity perturbation to the error function that is minimised when generating the trajectory.

The principle of differential evolutionary algorithm is easy to understand, and it has the advantages of fast convergence, simple operation and good stability, which has been favored by many researchers. However, the differential evolution algorithm is easy to fall into the local optimum, and even cause the algorithm to stagnate, the low efficiency, and the unstable convergence speed of algorithm. This paper proposes an improved differential evolution (SAF-DE) algorithm, which uses the perturbation formula to perturb the individual values in the population to make individual more diversified. So as to achieve the purpose of improving the accuracy and convergence speed in the optimization process of the differential evolution algorithm. algorithm, the improved algorithm has higher convergence speed and accuracy on some standard functions.
