Measurement-device-independent quantum key distribution (MDI-QKD) is considered one of the most promising protocols due to its high performance and security. To implement the MDI-QKD system in practice, clock synchronization is a crucial step to correctly generate the secret keys. However, as practical applications advance, the complexity and cost of synchronization have become significant challenges for the implementation of MDI-QKD. In this study, we introduce a qubit-based synchronization algorithm specifically designed for MDI-QKD. By utilizing the property of Hong-Ou-Mandel interference, we achieve clock synchronization between parties of MDI-QKD without the need for additional hardware. The cost-effectiveness and simplicity of this approach are expected to significantly facilitate the practical deployment of MDI-QKD.

VHDL-AMS is the Analog and Mixed-Signal Extensions to VHDL. The paper gives a brief overview of the added features to VHDL. A mixed-signal simulator has been developed based on VHDL-AMS. A new synchronization algorithm is adopted in the simulator. Using the new algorithm the analog kernel does not need to synchronize the digital kernel at each digital event time point. The efficiency of the new synchronization algorithm is tested by examples. Simulation results show the newly developed algorithm can speed up the simulation.

In the navigation data processing, the speed and accuracy of the frame synchronization processing plays an important role in system efficiency and signal analysis. Unlike other navigation message which synchronized using a fixed sequence, In GPS L1C CNAV-2 navigation message, and the synchronization code uses the BCH (51, 8) code based TOI (Time of Interval) and is no longer fixed binary sequence. The TOI, in GPS L1C CNAV-2 navigation message, is the 18 s count value in every 2 h while indicated by ITOW (Interval Time of Week) and cyclically changes between 0 and 399. Thus, the BCH coding generated by the TOI is circular. Thus, the synchronization algorithm used in fixed binary sequence does not work anymore. Beside, circularity makes us have to count maximum correlation in the two adjacent frames simultaneously and traversal 256 pairs of sequences at last in each detection, which influence the speed of the frame detection and the real timeliness of receiver. To solve this problem, beginning with the shift registers which generate synchronized code of GPS L1C CNAV-2 navigation message, this paper analysis the three characteristics of the loop resistance, autocorrelation, and cross-correlation. Then, the paper designs the fast adaptive synchronization algorithm for GPS L1C CNAV-2 navigation message. In this synchronization algorithm, the first step is estimating the number of error bit in the front nine bit of 52 bit, an integral BCH coding. Then, filter and sort these possible pairs of sequences. When we count the maximum correlation in the two adjacent frames simultaneously, the pairs of sequences is detected based on the priority order. Thus, the fast adaptive synchronization algorithm makes the fast synchronization and low rate of false synchronization in different signal conditions.

Time synchronization is one of core technologies in Distributed Systems and Communication Fields. The "Network Time Protocol" (NTP) is the current widely accepted standard for synchronizing clocks over the Internet. NTP uses a hierarchical scheme in order to synchronize the clocks in the network. It mainly adopts a phase-locked loop technique to adjust the local clock. This paper develops a time synchronization algorithm based on frequency adjustment in distributed system, which has a better performance compared with current algorithm, which uses the method of phase adjusting time. Under the same accuracy requirement, the algorithm has much less time requests to the NTP server and higher stability in performance, which decreases a lot on the load of server. This algorithm is more effective and would have preferable value in application.

This paper presents the study and simulation of synchronization algorithm for a three phase grid connected photovoltaic (PV) system. The synchronization algorithm employs synchronous reference frame based phase locked loop with a positive sequence detection. As compared to other methods, this algorithm provides a higher degree of immunity and insensitivity to noise and harmonic distortions. The maximum efficiency of the system may be achieved by overcoming the voltage unbalances and frequency distortion using this algorithm. The synchronization algorithm is studied by using a three phase parallel, 6 kilowatt load connected to three phase grid connected photovoltaic system.
