The rising interdisciplinarity and complexity of the Distributed Automation systems (DASs) require the systems to be modeled in an unambiguous and high-level abstract way for cross-discipline/stage communication and interoperability in the model-Driven Development (MDD) lifecycle. The concept of the system architecture model in systems engineering has been adopted for this challenge. To support the creation and analysis of this model, a modeling framework with a modeling methodology, modeling language, knowledge base, and related toolkit is established based on SysML and Semantic Web Technologies. A modeling methodology which is the core of the framework for modeling the architecture of DASs is formally defined with domain-specificity, comprehensiveness, discipline-neutrality, and platformin-dependency. Based on it, the SysML-DAS modeling language is extended from SysML, and the systemarchitecture Ontology is built with the help of the Knowledge Extraction Tool. This ontology works as the knowledge base not only to provide a unified and unambiguous view of the system but also to support the automated accomplishment of tasks in the MDD process. As a typical task, the semantic correctness and integrity of the system architecture model can be assessed by the Knowledge Analysis Tool in this framework.

We propose a supervisory control design process that merges descriptions at the level of the systemarchitecture with specific design methods related to supervisory control synthesis. The advantages of this proposal are a better integration of the supervisory control design with other design processes and stakeholders, improving the potential to automate part of the design process, and a complete specification in a modeling language that remains independent of the particular language of code implementation.

We propose a method for automatically extracting information that is relevant for the controller design activities from a model that represents architecture-level information and concerns, and show how the extracted information can be analyzed for control design purposes. Control design is an inherently multidisciplinary activity that can benefit from improvements in the communication and exchange of updated design information between stakeholders during product development. In this proposal, the critical source of improvement for communication is the use of architecture-level models at the core of design activities. The main contributions of this work are the use of an architecturemodel and the extraction of information (relevant to control design) from it, while, with the exception of an experimental contribution, the control analysis process is taken from existing linear structured system techniques.

With the growing penetration of wind power and photovoltaic generation, the problem of grid connection of new energy generation (NEG) has become increasingly challenging. The rapid expansion of energy storage technology brings a new hope to efficient utilization of new energy. This paper focuses on the impact of energy storage technology in the field of large-scale grid-tied new energy. This paper outlines the systemarchitecture involving real-time database, decision-making system and the grid connection of NEG. Also, it mainly examines how to smooth the fluctuations of NEG by coordinating energy storage system (ESS). To address the problem, a control strategy based on the requirement of the connection of wind power and photovoltaic generation as well as the state of charge (SOC) of energy system is proposed. Evaluation of the proposed fluctuation-suppressing algorithm using example simulation shows that the strategy significantly reduces the fluctuation rate. Meanwhile system architecture model based on real-time database increases the reliability and operational efficiency of the whole system.
