To increase redundant observations and estimate fractional cycle bias (FCB) in a global network and whole session, hundreds of globally distributed Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) tracking stations are required in the server side. However, the improvement of computational efficiency for FCB estimation and un-difference ambiguity fixing is a critical issue. In this paper, using a multi-node and multi-core platform based on task parallel library, a strategy for multi-core un-difference parallel resolution is proposed. Based on MapReduce, a workflow for multi-node FCB parallel estimation and un-difference ambiguity parallel fixing is developed. As a result, the efficiency of FCB estimating and ambiguity fixing is improved significantly. Data from global International GNSS Service (IGS) tracking stations are used in the experiment. In the server side, the speed-up ratio of FCB estimation using a six-node and four-core platform reaches 14.76 times. In the user side, globally distributed user stations are applied to parallel ambiguity fixing, whereupon the speed-up ratio under the same platform is improved to 12.33 times. In addition, the average accuracy of static hourly solutions for 16 user stations improves from 2.50, 3.12 and 0.99 cm to 1.30, 0.77 and 0.65 cm in the vertical, east and north components, respectively. Global navigation satellite system real-time processing requires low latency, high timeliness, and high computational efficiency. A typical application is providing corrections using data from a regional Continuously Operating Reference Station (CORS) network. Usually the wide-lane and narrow-lane fractional cycle biases (FCBs) are determined at the server and broadcast to users to fix undifferenced ambiguity. Also, a tropospheric model is established at the server and broadcast to users to obtain accurate and reliable a priori zenith total delays for precise point positioning (PPP) using the ionospheric-free (IF) observation combination. Currently, serial methods are typically applied, i.e., all reference stations are involved in estimating the wide-lane and narrow-lane FCBs and establishing a regional tropospheric delay model. To improve the efficiency and shorten the latency, we develop a parallel computation method for regional CORS network corrections based on IF PPP by adopting a multicore parallel computing technology task parallel library, wherein parallel computations involving the FCBs, tropospheric delays, and tropospheric model are successively performed based on data parallelism, in which the same operation is performed concurrently on elements in an array, and task parallelism, which refers to one or more independent tasks running concurrently. Data covering four seasons from the Hong Kong and southwestern America CORS networks are utilized in the experiment. The single differenced FCBs between satellites are determined within each full pass, and a tropospheric model with an internal accuracy better than 1.4cm and an external accuracy better than 1.6cm is derived at the server. With the parallel implementation, the speedup ratios of FCB estimation and tropospheric modeling are 1.79, 3.15, 5.59, and 9.69 times higher for dual-core, quad-core, octa-core, and hexadeca-core platforms, respectively, than for a single-core platform.

This paper describes the development activity on a low cost high performance fruit grader employing distributed network architecture to interface the GigE machine vision camera and field IO devices. The fruits are transported over a dynamic conveyor and images are synchronously captured for frame analysis during triggered events. Geometrical features such as diameter, perimeter, area and circularity are extracted under a laboratory simulated real-time condition in the absence of suitable field conveyor. task parallel library data flow computing concept is adopted under windows. Net Framework for effective individual core resource utilization in a multi core CPU configuration in order to achieve high performance measure. The scalable and upgradable dual core PC based hardware components are utilized for direct interface to cater the individual application demands by suitable software configuration. The system is capable of processing 6 to 10 fruits per second throughput per lane with good measurement accuracy and repeatability.

3D depth cameras are low-cost, plug & play solution to generate point cloud. 3D depth camera yields depth images which do not convey the actual distance. A 3D camera driver does not support raw depth data output, these are usually filtered and calibrated as per the sensor specifications and hence a method is required to map every pixel back to its original point in 3D space. This paper demonstrates the method to triangulate a pixel from the 2D depth image back to its actual position in 3D space. Further this method illustrates the independence of this mapping operation, which facilitates parallel computing. Triangulation method and ratios between the pixel positions and camera parameters are used to estimate the true position in 3D space. The algorithm performance can be increased by 70% by the usage of TPL libraries. This performance differs from processor to processor

With continuous increasing of the data scale of GNSS observations network, the computing pressure of data processing is growing. The undifferenced precise point positioning (PPP) model is one of the main strategies of GNSS network data processing. With the increasing of stations' scale, the processing time of PPP pattern also increases linearly, the traditional serial processing pattern need to consume a large amount of computing time. As the PPP model is not related, this model has good characteristics of parallel processing between stations. This paper established a distributed parallel processing strategy based on the PPP model, which can not only improve the efficiency of data processing, but also enhance the efficiency of hardware performance. However, due to the high concurrency of data access and processing, the parallel programming is faced with great challenges which can cause immeasurable results. In this paper, by analyzing the flow characteristics of the PPP method, a parallel GNSS data process model at multi-core and multi node level was set up, and a lightweight parallel programming model was adopted to realize the parallel model. Through a large number of data tests and experiments, high efficiency of parallel processing of GNSS data based on the PPP model was achieved. The experiment shows that, under the environment of four multi-core nodes, the parallel processing is at least six times faster than the traditional serial processing.

The article discusses main development aspects of the load balancer for the cluster. The goal is to increase the speed of queries processing to a database running with PostgreSQL DBMS on the Windows operating system. The developed balancing method was chosen by performance and reliability criteria. The software module distributes evenly the load between 4 cluster nodes depending on how much CPU is used on each of the work nodes. The dynamic load balancer processes SQL queries in parallel. The parallel database management module performs encryption of the queries results. The work speed of the developed balancing software module has been studied on a representative set of queries, the obtained results were compared with the work of load balancing configuration consisting of 2 work nodes, and with parallel and sequential processing of the representative set of queries on a single node.
