ZigBee technology has great potential in the field of environmental monitoring because of its advantages of low power consumption, low cost and high reliability. In this paper, an intelligent temperature and humidity detection system based on ZigBee and WiFi is proposed. The heterogeneous integration of ZigBee network and WiFi network is realized by using ZigBee protocol stack. The real-time monitoring of temperature and humidity and remote data transmission are realized. (C) 2020 The Authors. Published by Elsevier B.V.

This paper developed a temperature and humidity monitoring system for a plant growth cabinet based on the embedded *** monitoring system took a STM32 microprocessor as its core controller, and the accurate acquisition, display and control of environmental factors (including temperature, humidity) in the plant growth cabinet were achieved by the monitoring system. In order to solve the problem of low accuracy of such monitoring system, the means and variances of the temperature and humidity data after fusion were obtained from a batch estimation fusion method based on average values. Then an adaptive weighted fusion was applied on each layer of sensor data in accordance with the optimal weight distribution principle to obtain accurate temperature and humidity values. The testing results shows that the system is quite stable and reliable, which can monitor and display the real-time temperature and humidity existed in the plant growth cabinet accurately and satisfy the needs for control. © 2018, Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

Year-round monitoring of temperature and humidity using a Sensor Network installed in the Hokkaido Centennial Memorial Tower

Daily and seasonal changes in temperature (T) and relative humidity (RH) were monitored using a sensor network system installed in the Hokkaido Centennial Memorial Tower, built more than 50 years ago using weathering steel, to investigate its corrosion condition. Five T-RH sensors were set at the south side wall, inside the south tower, in the semi -open central area, inside the north tower, and on the north side wall on the 4th, 14th, and 24th floors. The T changed as a function of altitude, location in the floor, season, weather, solar radiation, diurnal cycle, distance from the wall, etc. The highest T of the south wall at daytime in the winter season could rise more than 30 degrees C even if the outer temperature was below 0 degrees C due to solar radiation causing the repetition of ice or snow melting in the daytime and freezing of water at night. The change in RH and T inside the tower followed a Tomashov-type RH-T curve (high RH at low T in the morning and evening). In winter, however, T and RH distribution, i.e., high-RH (> ca.60%) area below the freezing point and low-RH area with the high-T, caused air transportation inside the tower, condensation (and freezing) in the low-T area, and drying in the high-T area. In the visual inspections, severe corrosion, such as blistering and peeling, has been observed at the bottom of the tower, where snow has accumulated, and rainwater has stayed for a long time, especially at welds and joints.

Mildew is an important issue in grain storage, due to the very expensive losses that can arise due to grain spoilage by mildew. monitoring the conditions which allow mildew to develop is important and current monitoring technology cannot readily, or safely, be used for internal humidity monitoring of the very large quantities of grain kept in storage. In this work, a quasi-distributed, tailored fiber optic temperature and humidity sensor system suitable for use in the large granaries has been developed. Dust from the grain is a major issue and the sensor system copes well with this. Various sensor designs have been evaluated and building on prior work, a design with a humidity sensitivity of 5.8pm/%RH, a measurement error of 2%RH, and response time of 4.3 minutes, which is more than adequate for the applications discussed has been developed. Field-testing of the sensor system was carried out at a major storage facility in China, monitoring over an extended period of 4 months, giving results consistent with the outputs from other point sensors currently used in the granary. The fiber optic sensor system developed shows the additional advantages that as a quasi-distributed system, it can be used to record the temperature and humidity distribution across a longitudinal section of the large size of the grain pile, in real time, reflecting the changes in the internal moisture content. The results obtained showed the sensor system has broad market application prospects in this and other important areas of agricultural and food storage.

This paper introduced a system based on wireless network technology, which achieved node-to-node data collection and transmission. The ZigBee-based wireless network of the system adopted the chip CC2530 of TI company. The system developed applications based on Z-STACK for data collection and wireless transmission, it used VC++ to make a PC software for real-time monitoring of temperature and humidity. The research results show the feasibility of the system, and it would be widely used in the measure field of agriculture.

The control to temperature and humidity of small civilian granary is great important to grain storage. In this paper, we propose a smart surveillance device to monitor temperature and humidity in real-time to ensure high quality food storage. This simple and small size device could achieve good anti-jamming at extremely low power consumption. It could automatically trigger the sound-light alarm when either temperature or humidity is higher than a preset threshold value.

The advancement of communication and information technology has facilitated the creation of the Internet of Things (IoT). Today, IoT plays a crucial role in tracking, recording, storing, displaying, and communicating data across various fields such as healthcare, smart cities, engineering, and more. This paper introduces a smart system designed for nursing staff in hospital wards, utilizing smart devices (STM32) with wireless capabilities and an ESP8266 WiFi communication module. These devices register and log in to the public cloud via a broadband network. The system integrates various sensors to detect light and humidity levels in the ward and includes a flame alarm function. It also controls small lamps and fans through infrared remote control and mobile phone. Additionally, the system monitors patients' heart rates and simulates blood pressure. Using the ESP8266's MQTT protocol, it uploads various data to the Alibaba Cloud platform for display. Users can observe this data through their mobile phones and send control instructions. The system also pushes notifications through DingTalk. The design and implementation of this system will enhance the efficiency and security of nursing work in hospital wards.

With the development of single-chip microcomputer technology, the demand for intelligent equipment is increasing. This paper introduces a digital bee hive monitoring system, which is used to solve the difficult problems in bee farming. The system mainly uses STM32F103C8T6 single chip microcomputer and DHT11 temperature and humidity sensor to achieve data acquisition, processing, display and other functions, can automatically adjust temperature and humidity parameters, easy to operate, can be unattended. This paper introduces the overall design block diagram and working principle of the system, details the hardware circuit design of each functional module, and expounds the application program design and the operation of wireless module to send information. The test results show that all functions can be realized and the power consumption and stability meet the design requirements. The design has feasibility and economic value, and provides a suitable monitoring platform for users.
