In recent years, according to the need of intelligent video surveillance system increasing rapidly in metropolitan cities ,a design based on $3C2440 microprocessor and embedded Linux operating system is adopted for real-time video target tracking. However, it is very challenging as embedded systems usually afford limited processing power and limited resources. Therefore, to address this problem, a real-time tracking algorithm using multi-features based on compressive sensing is proposed and implemented The algorithm uses multiple matrix as the projection matrix of the compressive sensing and the compressed date as the multiple features to extract useful information needed by tracking process. Functions and libraries in OpenCV which were developed by Intel Corporation are utilized for building the tracking algorithms. It is tested with variant video sequences and the results show that the algorithm achieves stable tracking for the target moved of the light changed.

An infrared (IR) imaging tracker has been developed by the Defence Research Establishment Valcartier (DREV) to emulate IR seekers representative of the next generation of anti-aircraft missiles. The main application of this tracker is to perform research on the susceptibility of IR imaging seekers to countermeasures such as decoy flares and jamming by modulated sources. The tracker is composed of a 3-to-5 mu m IR focal plane array camera and fixed optics mounted on a motorized gimbaled platform. High-speed processors are used to process in real time the IR images to detect and discriminate the targets in the tracker's field of view (FOV). The digital tracking loop provides tracker stabilization. A multitude of image processing and target discrimination algorithms can be implemented in the tracker. The complexity of these algorithms must take into account the potential processing limitation of the seeker on-board processor. A specific tracking algorithm has been developed to reject false targets such as decoy flares. Its performance has been evaluated in presence of countermeasures by means of a hardware-in-the-loop simulation facility.

This paper will describe a digital simulation model to assess the effectiveness of infrared imaging seeking missiles in presence of background and countermeasures. The model reproduces the infrared (IR) scene observed by the imaging seeker and generates the images at the detector output. The model replicates the image processing for automatic detection of potential targets in the seeker's field of view (FOV), and the target selection by the tracking algorithm. A model of a two-degree-of-freedom gyro stabilized seeker platform is also presented. The seeker platform is driven by the tracking algorithm to reduce the error between the seeker axis and the line of sight. The simulation also includes models for the missile aerodynamics in six degrees of freedom, the missile guidance and control system and the target and missile trajectories. As an illustration of the model, some results of simulation are shown for a target engaged by an infrared seeking missile using an imaging sensor.

This paper presents an adaptive approach to real-time multi-object localisation in addition to Siteswap inference, and performance evaluation metrics for juggling routines, employing a proposed bimodal machine learning-enhanced state-space model implementation. Considering the complex multi-modal characteristics exhibited by objects during performances, the paper introduces a bespoke Interacting Multiple Model (IMM) component for increased Siteswap beat detection accuracy and gravitational acceleration inference, and a scheme for causal Siteswap inference derived through machine learning-enhanced IMM mode outputs. The algorithm effectively models the transitory behaviour of the system, enabling rapid and smooth transitions between the two discrete tracking cases (airborne, and caught) and accurate Siteswap inference under a variety of camera and environmental conditions. The employment of beat tracking algorithms that exploit optimal compromises in time domain onset detection functions and Tempograms, enables effective error correction of Siteswap detections, in addition to providing performance analysis and visualisation utilities. Experimentally, the algorithm is capable of object tracking and Siteswap inference with up to 11 objects for a variety of challenging Siteswaps and conditions, serving as a versatile performance analysis, evaluation, and visualisation utility.

The motion of an object (e.g. ship, jet, pedestrian, bird, drone, etc.) is usually governed by premeditated actions as per an underlying intent, for instance reaching a destination. In this paper, we introduce a novel intent-driven dynamical model based on a continuous-time intrinsic coordinate model. By combining this model with particle filtering, a seamless approach for jointly predicting the destination and estimating the state of a highly manoeuvrable object is developed. We examine the proposed inference technique using real data with different measurement models to demonstrate its efficacy. In particular, we show that the introduced approach can be a flexible and competitive alternative, in terms of prediction and estimation performance, to other existing methods for various measurement models including nonlinear ones.

There are many different tracking methods and algorithms in development and use. It would be useful to compare these methods to determine which tracking algorithms are most appropriate for different situations. To make it possible to compare these methods a common database of input data has been set up. This database includes raw image sequences, filtered image sequences and detection lists. The data may be used by TBD (track before detect) and TAD (track after detect) trackers. The raw image sequences have been preprocessed to correct bad channels and remove pointing and stabilization errors and are available to the tracking community. Researchers are invited to make use of this data and present their results. This paper describes the database, how to access it and the results of using the Multiple Hypotheses tracking algorithm on the image sequences contained within. A description of the signal processing used on the images and the MHT algorithm will also be included.

In the ultra–relativistic lead–lead collisions at the CERN Large Hadron Collider (LHC), a state of matter called Quark Gluon Plasma (QGP) is created. A typical signature of a heavy ion collision (HIC) correlated to the production of the QGP is the large number of particles produced (d N ch /d η up to 2000 in Pb–Pb collisions at p s NN =5.02 TeV). This high multiplicity environment poses a tremendous experimental challenge on the experiments that have to cope with the high density of signals in their sensitive volume. A Large Ion Collider Experiment (ALICE) has been designed to deal with the harsh environment of a HIC and to study in details the characteristics of the QGP. Among the particles produced in a HIC, light nuclei and their anti–matter companions are of special interest since the production mechanism of such loosely bound states is not clear in high energy collisions. The production rate at the LHC for the lightest of these objects, the deuteron, is approximately one every ten Pb–Pb collisions with the highest charged particle density. Heavier nuclei, such as the 3 He, are even more rare. The first goal of this work is to search with the ALICE experiment the haystack of particles produced in Pb–Pb collisions at p s NN =2.76 TeV and p s NN =5.02 TeV to find (anti–)deuterons and (anti–) 3 He. It is possible to distinguish some of the leading features of the main models describing the (anti–)nuclei production, by studying the characteristics of their transverse momentum spectra, their evolution with the particle multiplicity and their relation to the measured yield of protons. It will be also evident that the detailed study of heavier nuclei is limited by the amount of data collected by the ALICE experiment. In its third run, starting in 2020, the LHC will deliver Pb–Pb collisions at the unprecedented interaction rate of 50 kHz. The problem of finite-time control for attitude tracking maneuver of a rigid spacecraft is investigated. External disturbance, unknown inertia parameters are addressed. As stepping stone, a sliding mode controller is designed. It requires the upper bound of the lumped uncertainty including disturbance and inertia matrix. However, this upper bound may not be easily obtained. Therefore, an adaptive sliding mode control law is then proposed to release that drawback. Adaptive technique is applied to estimate that bound. It is proved that the closed-loop attitude tracking system is finite-time stable. The tracking errors of the attitude and the angular velocity are asymptotically stabilized. Moreover, the upper bound on the lumped uncertainty can be exactly estimated in finite time. The attitude tracking performance with application of the control scheme is evaluated through a numerical example.

Automatic target detection and tracking for an infrared imaging seeker is a complex topic. The IR sensor images are processed in real time to detect and discriminate the targets in the seeker's field of view (FOV). A multitude of image processing and target discrimination algorithms can be implemented in the seeker. The complexity of these algorithms must take into account the potential processing limitation of the seeker on-board processor. Tunable band-pass spatial filters have been considered to optimize the target detection in the input image of the seeker. The spatial frequency features are extracted from the target which is selected by the tracking algorithm. The center spatial frequency of the filter is then automatically tuned to that of the target. Various techniques to derive two-dimensional tunable band-pass filters are presented in this paper. The convolution windows must be characterized by a limited size for real-time application. The sensitivity of the filters to an amplitude threshold variation in the target detection will be evaluated.

Spatial Correlation: An Interactive Display of Virtual Gesture Sculpture

Spatial Correlation is an interactive digital artwork that provides a new window into the process of creating freeform handcrafted virtual sculptures while standing in an immersive Cave virtual reality (VR) environment. The piece originates in the lab, where the artist's full-body, dance-like sculpting process is recorded using a combination of spatial tracking devices and an array of nine synchronized video cameras. Later, in the gallery, these raw data are reinterpreted as part of an interactive visualization that relates the three spaces in which the sculpture exists: 1) the physical lab/studio space in which the sculpture was created, 2) the digital virtual space in which the sculpture is mathematically defined and stored, and 3) the physical gallery space in which viewers now interact with the sculpture.
