The recursive deterministic perceptron neural network

We introduce a feedforward multilayer neural network which is a generalization of the single layer perceptron topology (SLPT), called recursive deterministic perceptron (RDP). This new model is capable of solving any two-class classification problem, as opposed to the single layer perceptron which can only solve classification problems dealing with linearly separable sets (two subsets X and Y of R-d are said to be linearly separable if there exists a hyperplane such that the elements of X and Y lie on the two opposite sides of R-d delimited by this hyperplane). We propose several growing methods for constructing a RDP. These growing methods build a RDP by successively adding intermediate neurons (IN) to the topology (an IN corresponds to a SLPT). Thus, as a result, we obtain a multilayer perceptron topology, which together with the weights, are determined automatically by the constructing algorithms. Each IN augments the affine dimension of the set of input vectors. This augmentation is done by adding the output of each of these INs, as a new component, to every input vector. The construction of a new IN is made by selecting a subset from the set of augmented input vectors which is LS from the rest of this set. This process ends with LS classes in almost n - 1 steps where n is the number of input vectors. For this construction, if we assume that the selected LS subsets are of maximum cardinality, the problem is proven to be NP-complete. We also introduce a generalization of the RDP model for classification of m classes (m > 2) allowing to always separate m classes. This generalization is based on a new notion of linear separability for m classes, and it follows naturally from the RDP. This new model can be used to compute functions with a finite domain, and thus, to approximate continuous functions. Unconditionally provably secure cancellable biometrics based on a quotient polynomial ring

Biometric authentication has attracted attention because of its high security and usability. However, biometric features such as fingerprints are unchangeable throughout the life of individuals. Thus, once biometric data have been compromised, they cannot be used for authentication securely ever again. To address this issue, an authentication scheme called cancellable biometrics has been studied. However, there remains a major challenge to achieve both strong security and practical accuracy. The correlation invariant random filtering (CIRF) is an algorithm for cancellable biometrics with provable security and practical accuracy. However, the security proof requires an unrealistically strong assumption with regard to biometric features. The authors examine the security of the CIRF when the assumption is not satisfied, and show that there are vulnerabilities. To address the problems, the authors interpret the CIRF from an algebraic point of view and generalise it based on a quotient polynomial ring. Then several theorems are proved, which derive a new transformation algorithm. The security of the algorithm without any condition on the biometric features is proved. The authors also evaluate the accuracy of the algorithm by applying it to the chip matching algorithm for fingerprint verification and show that it does not degrade the matching accuracy.

Scheduling model-to-model transformations with continuations

Model transformations are at the heart of model-driven engineering because they allow the automation of diverse kinds of model manipulations. transformation scheduling is a key issue in the design and implementation of many transformation languages. This paper reports our results using continuations as the underlying technique for building a scheduling mechanism implicitly driven by data dependence among transformation rules. To support our experiments, we have built a proof-of-concept model transformation language, which is also reported here. First, we motivate the problem by analyzing the scheduling mechanism of current model transformation languages. Then, we introduce the notion of continuation, showing its applicability to model transformations. Afterwards, we present our approach, notably explaining how dependence is specified and giving the scheduling algorithm. We also analyze the lazy resolution of rules and how to deal with collection operations. The approach is validated by an implementation that targets the Java Virtual Machine and by running of the performance benchmarks that show its efficiency and scalability. Besides, we discuss how it can be applied to other existing transformation languages and present several applicability scenarios. Copyright (C) 2013 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.

Instead of using the FFT, all the real joint time-frequency transformations (JTFT) can be evaluated by the same efficient transformation algorithm, using different time-indexed autocorrelation functions. The approach presented dramatically reduces the computation load. Research suggests that a software package or a custom VLSI chip may implement real JTFTs.

Combining subsystems in dynamical systems

The subject of this paper is the combining of subsystems into the total dynamical system. It describes the unified mathematical representation of different types of subsystem combinations in the matrix form: series, parallel, feedback, and all its possible combinations, including multichannel combining. This paper also represents an effective straightforward computer transformation algorithm for the representation of subsystem combining as the total system in the state space. An example illustrates the use of this method.

In the development of ocean dynamics, nonlinear partial differential equations have important applications. Dynamic equation can be divided into continuous equation and pulse equation, the general dynamic equation including the form's equation, form equation flushing, jagged periodic impulsive equation, step frequency pulse equation, linear frequency modulation equation, nonlinear frequency modulation, phase coded equation, etc., here introduces commonly used equation of linear frequency modulation, nonlinear frequency modulation, phase coded equation, etc. In order to further improve the processing capacity of the dynamic equation, on the basis of the detailed analysis of the nonlinear partial differential model algorithm, the Mat lab tool was used to realize the simulation verification of the algorithm model. The principles of pulse pressure, MTI, MTD, CFAR, ranging, velocity measurement and Angle measurement were analyzed and elaborated.

The main purpose of this paper is to represent how knowledge-based Enterprise Model (EM) as problem domain data storage may be used in Information Systems (IS) engineering process. Enterprise Meta-Model (EMM) presented more than two decades ago justifies EM structure. EM stores problem domain data gathered by analyst and this EM structure can be used for project models creation in IS design phase. Unified Modeling Language (UML) models are one of the possible models, which can be generated from EM. These models can be generated through transformation algorithms. To present possibility of UML models generation from EM particular problem domain example is defined in this paper. Presented example demonstrates that data stored in EM is enough for different UML models generation and this paper presents that different UML behavioral models can be generated from EM and can illustrate same problem domain from different perspectives.

• With ever increasing competition, companies are collaborating in networks with projects increasingly spanning across different teams in companies with divisions in different geographical locations and with partner companies with different specializations. This creates the situation in which different companies must interact effectively to achieve a common goal in a multi-domain network environment. In this paper, a new approach for Multi-Domain Matrix (MDM) analysis based on empirical research on 4 companies in a network is presented. The approach builds on the perspective that the MDM consists of several matrices whose interrelationships can be explored. The perspective leads to the formulation of an aggregation of novel concepts for Multi-Domain Analysis which in turn leads us to a novel MDM phenomenon of managerial importance which has been named supercircuit in this paper.

The LADAR system is a device that generates a depth map using reflected laser range information after irradiating a laser pulse onto a terrain or target. In recent years, it is important to acquire accurate 3D coordinates of target objects with target identification from 3D raw data.(1-3) The existing LADAR system does not have the function to calculate the target coordinates, but recently, its coordinate system LADAR is actively researched to find the target coordinates. In order to accurately calculate the target coordinates, accurate position information (GPS) of the LADAR system and distance to the target and angle of the laser are required. Generally, digital magnetic compass (DMC) should be used to obtain accurate angles. However, in a region in strong magnetic fields, DMC cannot guarantee its accuracy and its usage is limited. In this paper, we propose a coordinate calibration system to replace DMC and a method to extract accurate angle information using GPS and encoder for robust target coordinate extraction to the magnetic field variation. As experimental results of the proposed system, it is confirmed that it is a robust system in the magnetic field environment compared with the coordinate system using the existing DMC. This is an improved technique for obtaining accurate target coordinates in various environments. Using the proposed LADAR system, it is possible to construct a smart defense system to extract the precise target latitude and longitude coordinate system and to transmit the information to the associated Missile base and command center.
