turbo code with iterative channel estimator using soft-output of turbo decoder

For the iterative decoding of turbo codes it is necessary to know the channel stare parameters in order to estimate the a posteriori probability of the information bits. The authors propose a new iterative channel estimator using the soft output of a turbo code, and analyse the performance of the turbo code over a correlated flat Rayleigh fading channel. The channel estimation error of the proposed channel estimator is reduced according to the number of iterations. Simulation results show that the use of the proposed iterative channel estimator improves turbo code performance.

Evaluating Puncture and Non-puncture for the turbo code Model based the on AWGN Channel with 16-QAM

In general, a 5G new radio network is defined by three primary utilization situations, namely upgraded versatile broadband, ultra-reliable, and low latency interchanges of information, as well as huge machine-type correspondences. These utilizations require improved throughput, inertness, dependability contrasted, and a 4G framework. As a coding plan for information, 5G turbo codes attain high throughput, a variable code rate, and length, and crossover programmed rehash with good error-detecting capability. The execution boundaries of 5G advancements are normal and are tens and thousands of times better compared with 4G. In this paper, the evaluations of puncturing and non-puncturing for turbo code depending on the minimization of penetrating of efficient pieces are discussed. It also provides penetrating of equality pieces considering additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) Channel with 16 quadrature amplitude modulation (QAM) to attain high spectral efficiency. In addition to this, the super encoder encodes the separated progression with a code speed of 1/3. The code block association progressively connects the yields from the super encoder. The sign mapper employed in this paper adjusts the progression using a 16-QAM balance. Also, the mapper takes effective pieces, one uniformity bit from the upper encoder, and the deinterleaved equity bit from the base encoder. The Orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) mapper parts into more modest equivalent channels, named subcarriers and the information is sent on these equivalent channels at a reduced rate.

Stochastic resonance in parallel concatenated turbo code decoding

In an array of threshold devices, we examine the effect of noise in improving performance of turbo code decoding. Such a phenomenon of noise-enhanced effect is termed stochastic resonance (SR). When signal is subthreshold, SR is observed by using Gaussian noise during iterative decoding. That is, the minimal bit error ratio (BER) is achieved at some non-zero noise intensity level. Besides, the larger the number of threshold devices is, the more remarkable the SR effect becomes. Especially when noise intensity is nearly optimal, BER approximates to zero after a few decoding iterations. Moreover, when Gaussian mixture noise is utilized, suprathreshold stochastic resonance (SSR) occurs in turbo decoding. These results show the beneficial effect of noise in channel coding and decoding. (C) 2016 Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved.

Error correcting RLL codes using high rate RSC or turbo code

A construction method of error correcting run-length Limited (EC-RLL) codes using a high rate recursive systematic code (RSC) or turbo code for storage system is proposed. The EC-RLL codes can be constructed by a concatenating conventional modulation code and RSC or turbo code with puncturing. The benefit of the scheme is the utilisation of soft decision and iterative detection algorithms for decoding.

Construction of turbo code interleavers from 3-regular Hamiltonian graphs

In this letter we present a new construction of interleavers for turbo codes from 3-regular Hamiltonian graphs. The interleavers can be generated using a few parameters, which can be selected in such a way that the girth of the interleaver graph (IG) becomes large, inducing a high summary distance. The size of the search space for these parameters is derived. The proposed interleavers themselves work as their de-interleavers.

Space-Time turbo code is an effective method for the enhancement of link capacity and maximizing the link-budget by balancing the coding gain obtained via turbo codes and the diversity gain obtained through multiple antenna transmission. A study on an antenna selection scheme for Space-Time turbo code for OFDM systems is presented in this paper. In the proposed method, the systematic bits and the punctured parity bits are sent from the selected antenna for each sub-carrier, while data transmission is suspended from the antenna experiencing poor channel conditions at the receiver. Simulation results show that the proposed method yields a 2.2dB gain in the required TxE(b)/N-0 relative to the conventional method, and makes the channel estimation accuracy more robust. Moreover, the proposed method reduces transmission power by about 4dB compared to the conventional method.

Unitary space-time modulation(USTM) fits for rapid Rayleigh flat fading channels as it can realize wireless communication when neither the transmitter nor the receiver knows the channel state information(CSI).However,an intrinsic problem is that only when the signal-to-noise ratio(SNR) is high can it give an ideal bit error rate(BER) *** existing bit-wise processing scheme of the combination of turbo code and USTM improves the BER performance and results in an unacceptable calculation complexity,storage and time delay *** this paper,we propose a multiary processing scheme and its corresponding multiary MAP decoding *** results verify that our scheme can reduce the system complexity while keep a good BER ***,we present the first analysis of the reason for the BER performance deterioration of the combination scheme at low SNR with the help of the definition of USTM.

A d-dimensional irregular compact interleaver design for turbo code

Our paper presents a new irregular interleaver design based on the sphere bound (upper bound of the maximum spread value) of a d-dimensional turbo code;in addition, a new normalized dispersion measurement definition for random and irregular interleavers is proposed. The estimation of the normalized dispersion that is used to be chosen by intuitive guess then verified experimentally with heavy simulations can now be estimated directly using analytical formulas developed by our method. Furthermore, we have found a new characteristic parameter that we named "interleaver dimension" that simplify the analysis and the conception of interleaver structures starting from any desired value of normalized dispersion. The dimension parameter is the main variable in our proposed experimental formula giving the normalized width parameter of the d-dimensional irregular compact interleaver (DIC).

In this paper presents a variable step-size algorithm for modified decision feedback equalizer structure with turbo coded for direct-sequence code division multiple access (DS/CDMA) digital communication systems. The main objective of the proposed equalizer is to minimize the bit error rate (BER) of the data due to the disturbances of noise and intersymbol interference (ISI) phenomenon on the channel. By the proposed technique, the performances of the proposed adaptive equalizer cooperate with the attractive Soft Output Viterbi Algorithm (SOVA) algorithm of turbo decoder for the DS/CDMA system. It provides a good statistical in non-stationary channel condition scenario. The simulation results are shown the superior bit error rate performances of the proposed adaptive equalizer over other equalizers.

In this paper, we present a scheme combining a parallel turbo code and a space-time block code for multiple input multiple output ( MIMO) systems. The space-time block code is represented by the full rate Golden code characterized by the Golden number 1 5 2 -+. The turbo code consists of the parallel concatenation of two recursive systematic convolutional codes and an interleaver. For the purpose of demonstrating the interleavers efficiency and importance, three different types of interleavers were used. Compared with the similar scheme that uses a nonrecursive non-systematic convolutional code instead of the turbo code for BER= 10(-4) a 3dB coding gain is obtained.
