Software complexity increases with the increase in functionality. To handle the complexity, unified modeling language (uml) has been used to structure the designs. The model is further used as an input to generate optimized test paths. In this paper, a new test path optimization tool has been generated for the automatic generation and prioritization of test paths. In the first phase, an activity diagram has been created using "Visual Paradigm" software. It is then exported as an XMI file (XML metadata interchange). The aim is to generate adjacency matrix by parsing the XMI file. After creating it, the top-down approach is applied to generate the test cases. An algorithm called firefly algorithm is used to optimize and prioritize the critical paths. The priority to the test paths is assigned according to the values of information flow and cyclomatic complexities of each node. Using this algorithm, the redundancy of the tests paths was removed.

Identifying the right-grained services is important to lead the successful service orientation because it has a direct impact on two major goals: the composability of loosely-coupled services, and the reusability of individual services in different contexts. Although the concept of service orientation has been intensively debated in recent years, a unified methodic approach for identifying services has not yet been reached. In this paper, we Suggest a formal approach to identify services at the right level of granularity from the business process model. Our approach uses the concept of graph clustering and provides a systematical approach by defining the cost metric as a measure of the interaction costs. To effectively extract service information from the business model, we take activities as the smallest units in service identification and cluster activities with high interaction cost into a task through hierarchical clustering algorithm, so as to reduce the coupling of remote tasks and to increase local task cohesion.

[Context & motivation] Many requirements documents contain graphical and textual representations of requirements side-by-side. These representations may be complementary but oftentimes they are strongly related or even express the same content. [Question/problem] Since both representation may be used on their own, we want to find out why and how a combination of them is used in practice. In consequence, we want to know what advantages such an approach provides and whether challenges arise from the coexistence. [Principal ideas/results] To get more insights into how graphical and textual representations are used in requirements documents, we conducted eight interviews with stakeholders at Daimler. These stakeholders work on a system that is specified by tabular textual descriptions and uml activity diagrams. The results indicate that the different representations are associated with different activities. [Contribution] Our study provides insights into a possible implementation of a specification approach using mixed representations of requirements. We use these insights to make suggestions on how to apply the approach in a way that profits from its advantages and mitigates potential weaknesses. While we draw our conclusions from a single use case, some aspects might be applicable in general.

According to requirements provided by customers, the description of to-be functionality of software systems needs to be provided at the beginning of the software development process. Documentation and functionality of this system can be displayed as the Topological Functioning Model (TFM) in the form of a graph. The TFM must be correctly and traceably validated, according to customer's requirements and verified, according to TFM construction rules. It is necessary for avoidance of mistakes in the early stage of development. Mistakes are a risk that can bring losses of resources or financial problems. The hypothesis of this research is that the TFM can be validated during this simulation of execution of the uml activity diagram. Cameo Simulation Toolkit from NoMagic is used to supplement uml activity diagram with execution and allows to simulate this execution, providing validation and verification of the diagram. In this research an example of TFM is created from the software system description. The obtained TFM is manually transformed to the uml activity diagram. The execution of actions of uml activity diagrams was manually implemented which allows the automatic simulation of the model. It helps to follow the traceability of objects and check the correctness of relationships between actions.

The importance and attraction of the Multi-Agent System (MAS) topic are increased, nowadays. The techniques for the modeling of such systems are indivisible part of their software processes. Many software development projects fail because of their inability to deliver the product in a timely and cost-effective manner, i.e. the software crisis. In a commercial airline company, a safety-critical system for preventing a âsingle-point of failureâ needs to be developed and certified. To meet the project deadline an Agile approach was used in developing the first portion of the system. An appropriate software development methodology, i.e. reverse-engineering was then applied to the software system to develop method that would be used in system maintenance and evaluation. The goals of this research study were to develop a segment of one of the uml activity diagrams as a purposeful and systematic methodology for conducting reverse-engineering on complete safety critical systems of the airline system. This was done to capture very high and very low-level designs of software engineering and to verify and validate the source code. The uml activity diagram was developed from a source code of an aircraft-gate assignment system. This was done in order to capture very low-level details of the program code, from which the model was reversed engineered. The diagram was made to represent the entire source code, by going through and analyzing the source code line-by-line. Whenever there is a condition in the source code, the diagram branches out and interacts with other activities. To directly see the flow of the program, the directional arrows in the diagram were assigned. With the data flow of the source code being represented in the visual format of the uml activity diagram, the interaction of each component can be easily understood and identified. The user can see the information that goes into each method, and what each method required. Once the user understands the flow of data within the program, the user can validate and verify that the software was developed with correct methods. Smart mobile pay applications on smart devices have been considered as the most efficient and secure mode of contactless payment. To safeguard customer credit/ debit card details, testing of mobile pay solutions like Samsung Pay is most important and critical task for testers. Testing of all the test cases is very tedious and a time-consuming task, therefore optimization techniques have been used to identify most optimized test paths. In this article, a hybrid genetic and tabu search optimization (HGTO) algorithm is proposed to secure optimized test paths using activity diagram of the smart Samsung Pay application. The proposed approach has been implemented using C++ language on the case study of the Smart Samsung Pay and an online airline reservation system. The experimental results show that the proposed technique is more effective in automatic generation and optimization of test paths, as compared to a simple genetic algorithm.

It is difficult to imagine the development of business processes in a complex environment like the telecommunication market without any form of modelling. Examples are structured texts, informal diagrams or models with more precise structures as formal models. The modelling objective in this case is, to clearly express the requirement of the development of business processes and provide a better base for the analysis of the required functionality. In this paper, the role and the importance of modelling in the development of business processes, in the areas of telecommunications were explored. Based on this research, a model of business processes in the area of telecommunication network has been suggested. The proposed model enables definition and description of a business process through multiple levels of abstraction. At the highest level of abstraction, the model describes the basic functionality and communication between management systems that participate in the realization of service activation. At lower levels of abstraction, the model defines details required for the specification of system support, which is needed for management of service implementation. Finally, the use of formal methods enables the simulation of business processes through the defined system support.

Testing of software requires a great amount of time and effort. The tester's main aim is to design optimized test sequences with a minimum amount of time, effort, and with less redundancy. Testers have used artificial intelligence meta-heuristic algorithms for optimization of test sequences. The model-driven approach is helpful in the generation of test sequences at early designing phase only. The model-driven approach uses uml diagram to represent the system's behavior and design test cases for the system at design stage of software development life cycle. The proposed approach uses natural river system for optimizing favourable non-redundant test path sequences using uml activity diagrams and sequence diagrams. The implementation of proposed approach has been done using python and results show that the proposed approach provides full coverage of test paths with less redundant test nodes compared to other meta heuristic algorithms.

许多网页系统的开发，在考虑到互动性与效能的情况下，常常需结合JavaScript的程式撰写。使用一般Web GUI 的测试，通常不能完整测试JavaScript程式，以及JavaScript和Server端的完整互动。在本文中，我们提出以活动图(activity diagram)来描述测试流程，并自动化产生测试脚本之系统，我们的活动图有两种Node，第一种Node负责描述操作Web GUI与其流程，而第二种Node负责描述JavaScript Unit Test 。程式根据以上两种Node所描述出来的BPMN档案转换成Web GUI 自动化测试码与JavaScript Unit Test 测试档，并且可以利用不同的浏览器来执行测试，可以帮助确认网页功能是否正常。
