Radio engineering courses are complex for comprehension from the visual point of view. Therefore, this aspect decreases the level of understanding among students that study them. But the problem can be solved by explicit demonstration of inner hidden processes. The paper covers the development of virtual laboratory work based on the unity game engine allowing investigation and discovery of the experience of radio engineers. The article's structure gradually goes through all the stages of the development process. Beginning with a literature review and observation of existing software, it continues with a physical and mathematical basis that lies in the core of the application. Then goes the describing part, which indicates programming tools. Particularly the unity game engine features are shown. After that, the work sheds light on the development process, where each stage and every part of the application is indicated.

Science fiction films are frequent mediums for showing the future of technology. In the film Memory of Water, there is a networked communication pod device that plays an important role in revealing the development of the dystopian futuristic world. The project in this thesis is aiming to design the holographic interface for the pod device. The design process contains the analysis of the film narrative, the research on similar science fiction film subgenres, holographic display technology, and the implementation of the interface visual effects for the pod device. The visual effect graph and the animation system in the unity game engine were used as the primary tool for realizing the interface. The final product is a digital prototype with the interactive three-dimensional interface design of the pod. Furthermore, the prototype design is part of the film pre-production to transfer the words in the script into visuals and interaction. By describing the process of design, the author suggests a possible method of arranging the background study for a science fiction film and using the unity game engine as a platform for generating the visual effects for the film.

Applications of pre-trained CNN models and data fusion techniques in unity3D for connected vehicles

Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) aim to enhance road safety and Internet of Things (IoT)-related solutions are crucial in achieving this objective. By leveraging Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) and Vehicle-to-Infrastructure (V2I) technologies, drivers can access valuable information about their surroundings. This research utilized the unity 3D game engine to simulate various traffic scenarios, exploring a stochastic environment with two data sources: camera and road sign labels. We developed a full-duplex communication system to enable the communication between Python and unity. This allows the vehicle to capture images in unity and classify them using Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) models coded in Python. To improve road sign detection accuracy, we applied multi-sensor Data Fusion (DF) techniques to fuse the information received from the sources. We applied DF methods such as the Kalman filter, Dempster-Shafer theory, and Fuzzy Integral Operators to combine the two sources of information. Furthermore, our proposed CNN model incorporates an Ordered Weighted Averaging (OWA) layer to fuse information from three pre-trained CNN models. Our results show that the proposed model integrating the OWA layer achieved an accuracy of 98.81%, outperforming six state-of-the-art models. We compared the Extended Kalman Filter (EKF) and Unscented Kalman Filter (UKF). In our work, EKF exhibited a lower execution time (0.02 seconds), yielding less accurate results. UKF, however, provided a more accurate estimate while being more computationally complex. Furthermore, the Dempster-Shafer model showed approximately 30% better accuracy compared to the Fuzzy Integral Operator. Using this methodology on autonomous vehicles in our virtual environment led to making more accurate decisions, even in a variety of weather conditions and accident scenarios. The findings of this research contribute to the development of more efficient and safer vehicles.

In numerous instances of Islamic architecture, the geometric arrangement of muqarnas was established using square-rhombus tessellations in their flat projections. Similarly, in Turkiye, square-rhombus projection schemes have been employed in muqarnas designs since the era of the Anatolian Seljuks. This study introduces a computer-aided design (CAD) tool called "Anatolian Muqarnas," which aims to recreate muqarnas schemes with square-rhombus projections. The tool is built upon a novel geometric analysis approach specifically tailored for Anatolian Seljuks muqarnas, drawing inspiration from Ammann-Beenker tiling and supertiles. Users of Anatolian Muqarnas can easily simulate existing or new designs by following predetermined rules. This contribution is expected to enhance discussions regarding the geometric analysis of muqarnas and the interplay between computing and cultural heritage at large.

Some three billion people play video games worldwide, which makes the video games industry an integral part of modern life. Such demand requires game developers to provide increasingly more complex games. Lately, to tackle the problem, many researchers have utilized approaches inspired by the Darwinian theory of biological evolution. The paper presents an overview of optimization techniques and their use in game development, and proposes a method for the computer opponent in the game of darts. Using the proposed computer opponent, the effect of different difficulty levels on its performance is shown.

This paper delves into the capabilities of Large Language Models (LLMs) in supporting beginner programmers in crafting virtual reality (VR) content for gaming and simulation applications. Our research group, comprising both seasoned and novice VR developers, engaged with versions of ChatGPT, including 3.5, 4, and Bard with Gemini Pro, during the development of various VR projects, spanning games to simulations. The findings, reflected through a comprehensive analysis of code quality and usability metrics, reveal that LLMs offer significant advantages for newcomers in the field. However, we also identify several challenges that must be addressed. This study enriches the discourse on obstacles faced in VR development and elucidates the impact of LLMs on coding and software creation, shedding light on both the advantages and hurdles of integrating LLMs into VR game production.

The human body part that is most often represented through icons is the hand. Shaking hands is indeed a sign of greeting and camaraderie, and it can symbolize strength, power, and protection as well as compassion, kindness, and consistency. The hand is an incredible feat of anatomical engineering, both in terms of its structure and function. So, any damage to the hand's supporting structures has the possibility of causing severe impairment. Even the tiniest hand injuries require a good medical evaluation in order to lower this danger. Many injuries and diseases affecting the upper extremities are treated with hand rehabilitation. This covers sudden trauma, Carpel Tunnel syndrome, wrist drop, overuse disorders, and various problems. In order to motivate patients with these conditions a virtual gaming is designed using unity-game engine for the betterment of these syndromic patients. The proposed system gives the most efficient strategy of hand tracking that uses 2D visual information in 3D to make the patient focus on rehabilitation to increase their hand movements, the patient receives treatment while manipulating a physical object that is monitored to assess how well they are doing without the direct observation of an occupational therapist. The gaming module, its fundamental structure and the supporting subsystems are designed in informal way that make it easier for patients and therapists to use. In order to create more gaming frame works that would be used in all rehabilitation clinics for these pushing activities, a preliminary usability test is instigated.

Snappable Meshes is an algorithm that procedurally generates 3D environments by iteratively selecting and linking pre-built map pieces. These pieces are triangular meshes annotated by designers with connectors marking potential links, and bounding volumes indicating where overlaps should be avoided. In this article, we present a method for automatically generating connectors and bounding volumes from generic non-manifold triangular meshes for use with the Snappable Meshes algorithm, minimizing artist/designer work, while encouraging iteration of map piece design, an essential part of successful environment generation.

With the development of technology, the rate of playing games is increasing gradually. The effects of game features on users are investigated and it is aimed to affect users positively (behavior, knowledge, pleasure, etc.). With the popularity of geographical information systems, the use of real-world environments in games has become widespread. In this research, it is aimed to develop an interactive game with a realistic and gamified virtual environment, with this game, the users can learn the city where the game takes place while having fun. In addition, the effect of elevation and texture on learning the city was measured with user tests. The results show that height and texture coatings increase recognizing and learning about the city.

In Egypt, about 33.6% of children with developmental disabilities have Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), social challenges are particularly acute for those with Asperger syndrome, often leading to marginalization and limited opportunities. This project proposes an innovative solution: an Android application featuring an interactive virtual pet companion powered by augmented reality (AR). Developed with the unity game engine and MediaPipe for pose estimation, the app aims to provide a safe and engaging platform for children with Asperger syndrome to practice social interaction, develop emotional learning skills, and combat social isolation. This project targets children aged 5-12, seeking to improve their social skills, emotional regulation, and engagement with their surroundings through playful interaction with the virtual pet. By addressing the unique needs of children with Asperger syndrome in the Egyptian context, this project has the potential to foster their social integration and well-being, paving the way for a more inclusive future. Evaluation reveals promising results (software-wise), with a 92% effectiveness rate in guiding users toward goals, 93% efficiency in resource utilization, and manageable technical performance.
