E-learning plays a significant role in educating large number of students. In the delivery of e-learning material, automatic e-assessment has been applied only to some extent in the case of free response answers in highly technical diagrams in domains like software engineering, electronics, etc., where there is a great scope of imagination and wide variations in answers. Therefore, the automatic assessment of diagrammatic answers is a challenging task. In this article, algorithms that compute the syntactic and semantic similarities of nodes to fulfill the objective of automatic assessment of use-case diagrams are described. To illustrate the performance of these algorithms, students' use-case diagrams are matched with model use-case diagram. Results from 13,749 labels of 445 student answers based on 14 different scenarios are analyzed to provide quantitative and qualitative feedback. No comparable study has been reported by any other label matching algorithms before in the research literature.

The demand for higher education keeps on increasing. The invention of information technology and e-learning have, to a large extent, solved the problem of shortage of skilled and qualified teachers. But there is no guarantee that this will ensure the high quality of learning. In spite of large number of students, though the delivery of learning materials and tests to the students have become very easy by uploading the same on the web, assessment could be tedious. There is a need to develop tools and technologies for fully automated assessment. In this paper, an innovative algorithm has been proposed for matching structures of two use-case diagrams drawn by a student and an expert respectively for automatic assessment of the same. Zhang and Shasha's tree edit distance algorithm has been extended for assessing use-case diagrams. Results from 445 students' answers based on 14 different scenarios are analyzed to evaluate the performance of the proposed algorithm. No comparable study has been reported by any other diagram assessing algorithms in the research literature.

Manual assessment is especially a tedious and time-taking process when the number of students enrolled in a subject is large. Since decade, researchers are constantly working on innovative and automatic way to improve the assessment process. MCQ Online exam is one of the successful examples where the whole evaluation process is fully automatic. However, to evaluate diagrammatic answer is still a challenge. diagrammatic answer of given use-case scenario is highly subjective from student to student and still it can be correct. In such situation, if there is a tool which can automatically assess the student answer and generate a quality feedback will be useful for teachers and students. Objective of this research is to know the feasibility of such tool from the appropriate stakeholders. To find the feasibility of proposed architecture for Automatic Assessment of use-case diagram, online survey has been conducted and detailed statistical analysis of the responses is discussed in this paper.

Automatic Documentation of [Mined] Feature Implementations from Source Code Elements and use-case diagrams with the REVPLINE Approach

Companies often develop a set of software variants that share some features and differ in others to meet specific requirements. To exploit the existing software variants as a Software Product Line (SPL), a Feature Model of this SPL must be built as a first step. To do so, it is necessary to define and document the optional and mandatory features that compose the variants. In our previous work, we mined a set of feature implementations as identified sets of source code elements. In this paper, we propose a complementary approach, which aims to document the mined feature implementations by giving them names and descriptions, based on the source code elements that form feature implementations and the use-case diagrams that specify software variants. The novelty of our approach is its use of commonality and variability across software variants, at feature implementation and use-case levels, to run Information Retrieval methods in an efficient way. Experiments on several real case studies (Mobile media and ArgoUML-SPL) validate our approach and show promising results.

The traditional stipulation of software requirement is adopted the method of resolving functions in order to describe the system function, but the method of using case is adopted to require a model, and is a modeling method by the core of a customer. Using case model consists of using case diagram and using case Stipulation. use-cases that describe possible interactions involving a system and its environment are increasingly being accepted as an effective means for functional requirements elicitation and analysis. case diagram is used to stipulate the system's action, and use-case stipulation describes every use-case by the method of document. By the case-based requirement, modeling of bank's system, the benefits of use-case modeling are understood.

Automatic information retrieval is usually used to ease the manual task of certain applications. In data mining, automatic information retrieval is used to retrieve specific data from a specific domain. We use this concept to introduce an automatic tool for data retrieval from requirements of a system, where the tool is used to generate the test cases automatically according to the system's requirements. The tool uses two steps for generating test cases. First, the system's requirements are transformed into a use-case diagram. Second, the use cases are then used to automatically generate the test cases. The tool allows a user to layout the requirements of a system via a use-case diagram in the workspace provided. In the workspace, a ToolBox is used to create, edit and display the use-case diagram. The ToolBox consists of standard symbols and arrows for a use-case diagram such as symbols for an actor and a use case, and arrows for connecting an actor with use cases as well as arrows for extends and uses. The workspace also allows a user to type-in the text for each of the use cases used. Once the use-case diagram has been finalized, it can be saved and edited at any other time. The engine of the tool will take all the use cases from the use-case diagram and search the keywords used in the provided database. Once the use case used matches the keyword inside the database, the engine will automatically generate its respective test cases according to its use case.

Tento text je dokumentací k multiuživatelskému systému pro podporu znovuvyužití materiálů. Rozebírá možnosti struktury v závislosti na funkční specifikaci systému, jeho implementaci pomocí PHP za využití databáze MySQL. Dále rozebírá postup tvorby systému od ER diagramu přes diagram užití až po samotné programování. Tato práce ukazuje jak navrhnout webový informační systém umožňující uživateli definovat víceúrovňové osobní pohledy na obsažená data. Tento projekt by mohl být základem pro komerční projekt, který může prověřit vhodnost použití navržené struktury jednotlivých částí systému.

The “Citizen-Centric Complaint Reporting and Analyzing Mechanism” project is designed to create an online complaint system, called “e-Complaint”, to allow citizens to file complaints related to crime and misconduct in a secure and user-friendly way. Model Driven Software Engineering (MDSE) has become a widely adopted approach in software development industry. Besides other software development phases, specifying requirements formally, is a crucial activity for developing model based software systems. There exist a number of formal languages that can be used for formal requirements specification. However, these formal languages are hard to comprehend and difficult to use for formal specification. Nonetheless, in many researches, abstraction of these formal languages is required and their benefits are tremendous. Z Notation is a formal language which guarantees that the software system must meet regulations and standards by specifying clear and unambiguous requirements. This leads to a high quality software and greater user satisfaction. However, formal languages are not welcomed with UML models because of rigorous use of mathematics. A bridge is required to minimize the gap between UML and Formal Requirements Specification languages. Therefore, we have presented a meta-model of a relatively mature and widely used Z Notation so that it may facilitate the future researchers by providing a reasonable level of abstraction. This paper aims to reduce the overhead of comprehension of formal language i.e. Z notation and to facilitate model-to-model transformations (source model: UML model, target model: Z Notation model). Further, we have validated the proposed meta-model via case study using UML use case. It has been demonstrated through case study that the Meta model facilitates shared understanding among stakeholders and facilitates model to model transformation leading to unambiguous requirements specification but can also be automated for the model based development of such a system which transforms informal requirements into formal Z-Notation specifications.
