This volume contains the papers presented at the International Workshop on Tools for Working with Guidelines, (TFWWG 2000), held in Biarritz, France, in October 2000. It is the final outcome of the International Special Interest Group on Tools for Working with Guidelines.;human-computerinteraction guidelines have been recognized as a uniquely relevant source for improving the usability of userinterfaces for interactive systems. The range of interactive techniques exploited by these interactive systems is rapidly expanding to include multimodal userinterfaces, virtual reality systems, highly interactive web-based applications, and three-dimensional userinterfaces. Therefore, the scope of guidelines' sources is rapidly expanding as well, and so are the tools that should support users who employ guidelines to ensure some form of usability.;(TFWWG) covers not only software tools that designers, developers, and human factors experts can use to manage multiple types of guidelines, but also looks at techniques addressing organizational, sociological, and technological issues.

These are the proceedings of the 7th International Workshop on Cooperative Information Agents (CIA 2003), held at the Sonera Conference Center in H- sinki, Finland, August 27–29, 2003. It was co-located with the 4th Agentcities Information Days. One key challenge of developing advanced agent-based information systems is to balance the autonomy of networked data and knowledge sources with the pot- tial payo? of leveraging them by the appropriate use of intelligent information agents on the Internet. An information agent is a computational software entity thathasaccesstooneormultiple,heterogeneous,anddistributeddataandinf- mation sources; proactively searches for and maintains relevant information on behalfofitshumanusersorotheragents,preferablyjust-in-time. Inotherwords, it is managing and overcoming the di?culties associated with information ov- load in the open and exponentially growing Internet and Web. Depending on the application and tasks at hand information agents may collaborate in open, n- worked data and information environments to provide added value to a variety of applications in di?erent domains. Thus, research and development of inf- mation agents is inherently interdisciplinary: It requires expertise in information retrieval, arti?cial intelligence, database systems, human-computerinteraction, and Internet and Web technology. Initiated in 1997, the purpose of the annual international workshop series on cooperativeinformationagents(CIA)istoprovideaninterdisciplinaryforumfor researchers, software developers, and managers to get informed about, present, anddiscussthelatesthigh-qualityresultsinadvancementsoftheoryandpractice in information agent technology for the Internet and Web. Each event of this renowned series attempts to capture theintrinsic interdisciplinary nature of this research area by calling for contributions from di?erent research communities, and by promoting open and informative discussions on all related topics.

This two-volume set (LNAI 8019 and LNAI 8020) constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 10th International Conference on Engineering Psychology and Cognitive Ergonomics, EPCE 2013, held as part of the 15th International Conference on human-computerinteraction, HCII 2013, held in Las Vegas, USA in July 2013, jointly with 12 other thematically similar conferences. The total of 1666 papers and 303 posters presented at the HCII 2013 conferences was carefully reviewed and selected from 5210 submissions. These papers address the latest research and development efforts and highlight the human aspects of design and use of computing systems. The papers accepted for presentation thoroughly cover the entire field of human-computerinteraction, addressing major advances in knowledge and effective use of computers in a variety of application areas. The total of 81 contributions included in the EPCE proceedings were carefully reviewed and selected for inclusion in this two-volume set. The papersincluded in this volume are organized in the following topical sections: driving and transportation safety, cognitive issues in aviation, military applications, cognitive issues in health and well-being.

INTERACT 2009 was the 12th of a series of INTERACT international c- ferences supported by the IFIP Technical Committee 13 on human–computerinteraction. This year,INTERACT washeld in Uppsala (Sweden), organizedby the Swedish Interdisciplinary Interest Group for human–computerinteraction (STIMDI) in cooperation with the Department of Information Technology at Uppsala University. Like its predecessors, INTERACT 2009 highlighted, both to the academic and to the industrial world, the importance of the human–computerinteraction (HCI) area and its most recent breakthroughs on current applications. Both - perienced HCI researchers and professionals, as well as newcomers to the HCI ?eld, interested in designing or evaluating interactive software, developing new interaction technologies, or investigating overarching theories of HCI, found in INTERACT 2009 a great forum for communication with people of similar int- ests, to encourage collaboration and to learn. INTERACT 2009 had Research and Practice as its special theme. The r- son we selected this theme is that the research within the ?eld has drifted away from the practicalapplicability of its results and that the HCI practice has come to disregard the knowledge and development within the academic community.

This book reports on research and developments in human-technology interaction. A special emphasis is given to human-computerinteraction, and its implementation for a wide range of purposes such as healthcare, aerospace, telecommunication, and education, among others. The human aspects are analyzed in detail. Timely studies on human-centered design, wearable technologies, social and affective computing, augmented, virtual and mixed reality simulation, human rehabilitation and biomechanics represent the core of the book. Emerging technology applications in business, security, and infrastructure are also critically examined, thus offering a timely, scientifically-grounded, but also professionally-oriented snapshot of the current state of the field. The book is based on contributions presented at the 1st International Conference on humaninteraction and Emerging Technologies, IHIET 2019, held on August 22-24, in Nice, France. It offers a timely survey and a practice-oriented reference guide to systems engineers, psychologists, sport scientists, physical therapists, as well as decision-makers, designing or dealing with the new generation of service systems.
