The three-volume set LNCS 15809-15811 constitutes the thoroughly refereed proceedings of the 11th International Conference on human Aspects of IT for the Aged Population, ITAP 2025, held as part of the 27th HCI International Conference on human-computerinteraction, HCII 2025, which took place in Gothenburg, Sweden, in June 2025.
The total of 1430 papers and 355 posters included in the HCII 2025 proceedings was carefully reviewed and selected from 7972 submissions.
The three volumes cover topics as follows:
Part I: Designing Older user Experiences; Social Connectedness and Psychological Support
Part II: Smart Homes and Communities for Aging in Place; eHealth for Aging
Part III: Older Adults and the (Smart) City; Technology Adoption, IT Literacy and the Digital Divide; Living with AI.

The topics treated in this handbook cover all areas of games and entertainment technologies, such as digital entertainment; technology, design/art, and sociology. The handbook consists of contributions from top class scholars and researchers from the interdisciplinary topic areas. The aim of this handbook is to serving as a key reference work in the field and provides readers with a holistic picture of this interdisciplinary field covering technical issues, aesthetic/design issues, and sociological issues. At present, there is no reference work in the field that provides such a broad and complete picture of the field. Engineers and researchers who want to learn about this emerging area will be able to find adequate answers regarding technology issues on digital entertainment. Designers and artists can learn how their skills and expertise can contribute to this emerging area. Also researchers working in the field of sociology and psychology will find how their experience and knowledgeare connected to other areas such as technology and art/design. Although topics are written by foremost experts from the field, the description for each topic has been intended to be easily understandable but yet comprehensive enough so that it caters not only for the experts but also beginners and students in the field.

For a long time now sociologists have spoken of the domestication of information and communication technologies (ICTs) to indicate their process of integration in everyday life. In this paper, we wish to deal with a crucial aspect of this process, which is the domestication of ICTs at the socio-cognitive level. Our aim is to reconstruct how these technologies have been metabolised in the system of social thought, and the way in which they have been integrated conceptually. At the same time, we wish to propose the methodology of social representations as being particularly suitable for investigating the social meaning of telecommunications. In the course of a telephonic survey of a sample of Italian population of 2,100 persons, 210 interviewees were asked to associate two terms with 10 cue words: telecommunications, fax, television, telephone, computer, mobile phone, radio, video-recorder, stereo, newspapers. The associations obtained were analysed by factor analysis of simple correspondences.

This special issue of autonomous agents and multi-agent systems sought research articles that discuss relevant topics for the current trends in research on software agents and agent-based software systems. Topics of interest included techniques and technologies to engineer agent-based software systems, as well as languages, frameworks, and infrastructures broadly related to software agents and agent-based software systems.

This paper investigates the use of group goals and plans as programming abstractions that provide explicit constructs for goals and plans involving coordinated action by groups of agents, with a focus on the BDI agent model. We define a group goal construct, which specifies subgoals that the group members must satisfy for the group goal to succeed, subject to timeouts on the members beginning work on the goal, and then completing their subgoals. A group plan containing one or more group goals can be dynamically distributed amongst a set of agents and jointly executed without a need for explicit coordinating communication between agents. We define formal semantics that model the coordination needed to determine a group goal's success or failure as updates to a shared state machine for the group goal. We implement the semantics directly as rewrite rules in Maude, and verify using LTL model checking that the intended coordination behaviour is achieved. An implementation of group plans and goals for the Jason agent platform is also described, based on an integration of Jason with the ZooKeeper coordination middleware via a set of generic Jason plans supporting group goals, and the Apache Camel integration framework. A evaluation of the performance of this implementation is presented, showing that the approach is scalable.

We consider the problem of fairly dividing a set of indivisible items. Much of the fair division literature assumes that the items are "goods" that yield positive utility for the agents. There is also some work in which the items are "chores" that yield negative utility for the agents. In this paper, we consider a more general scenario in which an agent may have positive or negative utility for each item. This framework captures, e.g., fair task assignment, where agents can experience both positive and negative utility for each task. We demonstrate that whereas some of the positive axiomatic and computational results extend to this more general setting, others do not. We present several new and efficient algorithms for finding fair allocations in this general setting. We also point out several gaps in the literature regarding the existence of allocations that satisfy certain fairness and efficiency properties and examine the complexity of computing such allocations.

Every discipline struggles to define the knowledge base that could be used toteach its new inductees. In this aspect, the field of Informatics is no different. Informatics, within the context of this book, is operationally defined as a discipline that includes computerscience, software engineering, and information systems to varying degrees. In addition to the variedscope of the discipline, there are additional factors that make it difficult to determine what newinductees should be taught. The two primary reasons for this difficulty can be attributed to thefact that Informatics is a relatively new discipline (compared to some other perennials) and that itis rapidly evolving. The concern for the educational enterprise in Informatics then is multifold.
