A lot of studies in the information systems, advertising, and marketing literature have shown that for the past two decades online banner ad click-through rate is decreasing steadily (Idemudia et al. 2007). To address this issue, we develop the visual perception model (VP) for Online Target marketing and then conducted an experiment by manipulating the independent variables (i.e. perceived security of online banner ads and match between web user's need and banner ad contents). The theoretical background for the VP model is the visual perception Theories. The VP model shows that perceived usefulness of online banner ads have a positive and significant effect on the intention to click online banner ads. Also, the VP model shows that both perceived security of online banner ads and match between web user's need and banner ad contents has a positive and significant effects on perceived usefulness of online banner ads. The result provides support for the visual perception theories.

According to human vision theory, the image is conveyed from human visual system to brain when people have a look at. Different from previous work, the study reported in this paper attempts to simulate a more real and complex method for region of interest (ROI) detection and quantitatively analyze the correlation between users' visual perception and ROI. In this paper, a visual perception model-based ROI detection is proposed, which can be realized with an ordinary web camera. visual perception model employs a combination of visual attention model and gaze tracking data to objectively detect ROIs. The work includes pre-ROI estimation using visual attention model, gaze data collection and ROI detection. Pre-ROIs are segmented by the visual attention model. Since eye feature extraction is critical to the accuracy and performance of gaze tracking, adaptive eye template and neural network are employed to predict gaze points. By computing the density of the gaze points, ROIs are ranked. Experimental results show that the accuracy of our ROI detection method can be raised as high as 97% and it is also demonstrated that our model can efficiently adapt to users' interests and match the objective ROI.

Vehicle recognition system (VRS) plays a very important role in the field of intelligent transportation systems.A novel and intuitive method is proposed for vehicle *** method we provide for vehicle location is based on human visual perception model technique. The perception color space HSI in this algorithm is *** color components of a color image and more potential edge patterns are integrated for solving the feature extraction problem.A fast and automatic threshold technique based on human visual perception model is also *** vertical edge projection and horizontal edge projection are adopted for locating left-right boundary of vehicle and top-bottom boundary of vehicle, respectively. Very promising experimental results are obtained using real-time vehicle image sequences, which have confirmed that this proposed location vehicle method is efficient and reliable, and its calculation speed meets the needs of the VRS.

Image segmentation is the basis of image processing and image analysis. However, there are no common method that can be used in natural images, and present methods fail to explain understandings of human's visual system. In this paper, we propose to apply Karklin's visual perception model to extract feature vectors of images, and the features are clustered with K-means method. The results obtained in feature space are projected back to the image space to finish segmentation. A comparison with the Normalized Cuts (Ncut) method is done, and it turns out that proposed method outperform Ncut in texture rich images.

In this paper, we propose to incorporate both spatial and frequency models of HVS into wavelet transform image coding. The process of Wavelet transform decomposition, which splits the spatial frequency domain to several octave bands by dilation and translation of a single basic wavelet, is similar to that of frequency model HVS. Moreover, according to spatial model of HVS, some compact physical features like contours and regions are with high visual perceptive significance to human vision system. Based on the spatial model we develop a visual perception Sensitive Map (VPSM) and use the map to develop a wavelet thresholding scheme in order to achieve a high image compression ratio while retaining a high visual quality of the reconstructed image. After removing the less visually significant coefficients, we develop a adaptive quantization scheme for transformed coefficients at each of the subbands. This quantization scheme is developed based on the HVS frequency model to minimize the visual error due to quantization. In our image compression system, both frequency and spatial aspects of HVS to the image have been taken into consideration. We preserve the highly visual perceptive wavelet coefficients and minimize the visual distortion of coefficients in each of the decomposed band. As a result, a high compression ratio and low visual distortion coder is obtained.

Based on the spatial model, we apply fuzzy logic theory to detect visual significant edge points and based on these edge points to construct a visual perception Sensitive Map (VPSM) for wavelet coefficient thresholding scheme. Only the visual significant coefficients are retained and the rest are discard. This approach can achieve a high image compression ratio while minimizing the visual quality distortion of the reconstructed image. In addition, we develop an adaptive quantization scheme for the wavelet coefficients at each of the subbands. This quantization scheme is developed based on the HVS frequency model to minimize the visual errors caused by the quantization. In our image compression system, both the frequency and spatial aspects of HVS to the image have been taken into consideration. Research on Inkjet Printing Banding Defect Compensation Methods based on visual perception models

This study presents an innovative compensation technique for addressing banding defects in piezoelectric single-pass inkjet printing, a common issue stemming from nozzle malfunctions such as clogging, misfiring, and failure. The technique leverages visual perception models to dynamically optimize dot density and ink droplet size adjacent to the defective nozzle within the halftone image. It incorporates a color difference compensation algorithm based on the CIE2000 standard, ensuring uniform ink coloration across all channels and reducing density and color disparities. By meticulously adjusting the dot matrix for each printing channel at the malfunctioning nozzle, this method effectively minimizes color and density differences, making the banding defects nearly imperceptible. Experimental validation has shown a significant enhancement in the visual quality of printed outputs, applicable to both monochromatic and complex color images. Importantly, this compensation mechanism is hardware-independent, allowing for easy integration into existing digital printing workflows. This approach has the potential for broader applications beyond printing, wherever precise color and density control are critical.

Construction and application of a simulation optimization model of auxiliary guidance signs in enclosed public places

Many enclosed public spaces with multiple destinations often feature obstacles, such as columns within the building space and dense crowds, which adversely affect the recognition and guidance of pedestrian sign. To mitigate this issue, enhancing traffic efficiency necessitates the implementation of auxiliary guidance signs. However, experience-based schemes for positioning these signs often require iterative adjustments to achieve the desired effect. Thus, this paper endeavors to address this challenge by analyzing the relationship between obstacles and pedestrians' visual blind areas. It establishes a mathematical model to describe pedestrian visual perception and its correlation with crowd density and individual visual field function. The model employs the effective aggregation area of the population exceeding a certain density threshold as its primary variable and enhances this variable's function. Subsequently, it formulates an effect function that yields a substantial improvement in various combinations and permutations of auxiliary guidance signs. To exemplify this research, a large subway transfer hall with multiple destinations serves as a simulation model. The study calculates the optimal combination of auxiliary guidance sign placements that align with the enhancement effect function. Based on this combination, an optimized layout plan is derived, resulting in a significant improvement. The results demonstrate that the auxiliary guidance sign layout scheme proposed in this study markedly enhances traffic efficiency in enclosed public spaces. This research serves as a valuable reference for decision-makers seeking to optimize traffic flow in such spaces.

Natural Scene Classification Inspired by visual perception and Cognition Mechanisms

The process of human natural scene categorization consists of two correlated stages: visual perception and visual cognition of natural *** by this fact,we propose a biologically plausible approach for natural scene image *** approach consists of one visual perception model and two visual cognition *** visual perception model,composed of two steps,is used to extract discriminative features from natural scene *** the first step,we mimic the oriented and bandpass properties of human primary visual cortex by a special complex wavelets transform,which can decompose a natural scene image into a series of 2D spatial structure *** the second step,a hybrid statistical feature extraction method is used to generate gist features from those 2D spatial structure *** we design a cognitive feedback model to realize adaptive optimization for the visual perception *** last,we build a multiple semantics based cognition model to imitate human cognitive mode in rapid natural scene *** on natural scene datasets show that the proposed method achieves high efficiency and accuracy for natural scene classification.
