Since its appearance in May 1990, Microsoft's Windows 3 has rapidly become the operating environment of choice for the IBM-compatible computer. The success of Windows 3 can be attributed to a variety of factors: its easy-to-use graphical user interface (GUI), multitasking, access to larger amounts of memory, integrated applications, networking, extensive hardware support, device independence and DOS compatibility. These factors, which can be categorised into those significant for users and those significant for developers, are discussed by the author. The author then describes LabVIEW, a graphical programming system developed by National Instruments from the Macintosh-based data acquisition and control software LabVIEW. The main features and functions of LabVIEW are described. The future development of Windows is discussed.< >

This paper is concerned by the fact that the health sector represents a major development challenge for emerging countries. However, it faces many challenges that affect the quality of care provided and makes it almost impossible to guarantee an adequate level of accessibility for all social classes of the population. These reasons motivated us to study a medical control system based on the Internet of Things that could significantly improve the conditions of medical care and ensure effective and effective medical follow-up by automating the process of taking during the consultations and by preserving the information thus obtained for restitution in case of emergency or medical follow-up of the patients. At the end of our study, we were able to define the challenges posed by technological tools in improving the conditions of health structures and to simulate the functioning of the system we designed.

The dominance of Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) in the area of physical computing is expected and is unquestionable. As happened to all the emerging technologies after receiving the attention of a significant number of researchers, in order to ensure long term existence, the dissemination of their use must spread over a wider audience through simple and efficient educational projects. The article presents the key aspects of designing and developing a repository of deep neural network models for analyzing and predicting the development of spatial processes based on spatial data. The framework of the system operates on the basis of the MVC pattern, in which the framework is decomposed into modules for working with the system's business logic, its data and graphical interfaces. The characteristics of the developed web interfaces, a module for visual programming for editing of models, an application programming interface for unified interaction with the repository are given. The stated aim of the study determined the structure of the scientific article and the results obtained. The paper describes the functional requirements for the repository as a signific part of software design, presents the developed formalized storage scheme for neural network models, describes the aspects of development of a repository of neural network models and an API of the repository. The developed system allows us to approach the solution of the scientific problem of integrating neural networks with the possibility of their subsequent use to solve design problems of the digital economy.

The benefits of Building Information Modelling (BIM) in the building sector pushed for its use in the geotechnical sector with evident benefits in projects around the world. Standardization, interoperability, and improved data management are some of the benefits of BIM if used on geotechnical data. This work focuses on transforming traditional workflows of handling geotechnical data into a BIM-based workflow that makes geotechnical data available in BIM contexts. For that, a definition of Product Data Template (PDT) for boreholes is proposed. A script is developed using visual programming tools to import data based on PDTs to the BIM platform and translate it into borehole objects. An additional script is used to represent the subsurface layers in 3D. Finally, the interoperability aspects of the information are discussed to ensure proper processes of IFC export/import in this context. Finally, a case study is presented to demonstrate the efficacy of the proposed workflow.

Is it possible to achieve some of the benefits of formal testing within the informal programming conventions of the spreadsheet paradigm? We have been working on an approach that attempts to do so via the development of a testing methodology for this paradigm. Our “What You See Is What You Test” (WYSIWYT) methodology supplements the convention by which spreadsheets provide automatic immediate visual feedback about values by providing automatic immediate visual feedback about “testedness”. In previous work we described this methodology; in this paper, we present empirical data about the methodology's effectiveness. Our results show that the use of the methodology was associated with significant improvement in testing effectiveness and efficiency even with no training on the theory of testing or test adequacy that the model implements. These results may be due at least in part to the fact that use of the methodology was associated with a significant reduction in overconfidence.
