The internet has succeeded in emerging as a major component in our daily lives, and its presence in education sector is outstanding. web-based syllabuses have been enjoying an upper hand and have succeeded in getting attention of learners and the instructors. If presentations at international conferences are any indication, the interest in this new instructional medium is indeed commanding. web-basedlearning involves the use of appropriate technology with the corresponding pedagogical approaches managed in the context of today's educational setting. web-basedlearning encompasses all educational interventions that make use of the internet. There are currently three broad classifications or configurations within WBL: tutorials, online, discussion groups, and virtual patients. The distinctions between these configurations are often blurred, and in fact a given WBL intervention might use a combination of two or three, but the implications for teaching warrant a conceptual, albeit at times arbitrary, separation. Therefore the objective of this paper is to understand the concept of web based learning and its advantages along with its use in literature, culture and folklore studies, and the various methodologies to implement it in a class of Folklore studies.

Digital storytelling or DST is a technique which refers to the process by which digital technology is used to combine the conventional tradition of storytelling. Multimedia narratives and presentations can also be produced by the use of accessible media and software. This methodology of web based learning could also be conceptualized through digital documentaries, narratives that are computer based, digital essays, storytelling that are interactive. However a wide range of multimedia is combined along with the art of storytelling like different types of graphics, audio, video, and web publishing. This paper presents the concepts of modeling, a structural design pattern for the mobile software application and technology of a web-based online learning. The instructional media design is extremely important for the design and development of educational systems based on software engineering principles and methods. There are several methods and models that are used in the system design. However, there will be no results to the best technique for a description of these systems, but have been designed to meet the needs. It is important to express a concept of the database and the flow of information at the same time in the design. The design shows the development of the system to work more easily. In addition, users understand the system and developers can flowlessly develop the system without the complexity. This paper presents our ideas to design and develop the structural design pattern of a mobile software application technology for web-based online learning system using Information Flow Diagram (IFD). It is a model of an application structural design, a prototype showing the mobile web-basedlearning. The Information Flow Diagram (IFD) diagram will be the main interactions with users and designers. The paper with focus on developing for the system requirements. System designers can more easily understand the overall system. Other than simplifying the design system our model can reduce the number of symbols and diagrams used. There are Interface Flow Diagrams (IntFD) describing the steps of a graphical interfaces in the system. This objective of our research is to understand the design of a mobile application software for a web-basedlearning system using Information Flow Diagram (IFD) model. Knowledge management (KM) has been recognized as one of the most critical factors for obtaining organizational competitive advantage. New advances in information technology (IT) have supported innovations in KM. In many studies it has been indicated that using knowledge management techniques (KM), which fundamentally consist of tacit and explicit knowledge capturing, organizing and storing, helps to achieve goals in a shorter time, the level of understanding is increased, the problems are solved efficiently and right decisions are taken in many fields. In number of studies it is emphasized that KM to be used as a tool or concept in education. Motivation of this study was to implement such a platform to collect and deliver tacit and explicit knowledge of information security. Apart from other studies, the developed model not only helps codifying tacit knowledge to explicit knowledge, but also serves as a learning object to be used in the construction of other online education systems. The developed model has an environment similar to Distributed Interactive learning (DIL). DIL, in brief, is a type of webbased education environment based on structured hypertext navigation, rather than just delivering linear learning materials such as Word files and presentation files. In the conducted study, information is either explicit knowledge or codified tacit knowledge accessed as hypertext navigation.

The difficulty of web based learning is to provide the appropriate support for the learners so that the learners will not get lost and their learning achievements can be ensured. This paper thus proposes the method for discovering learning patterns of the learners on web based learning particularly for ensuring the learning achievement. The learning pattern is discovered by analyzing the interactions among the learners and the learning objects with social network analysis. Then, the achievement learning pattern is finally determined by analyzing the sets of obtained social network measurements. The interaction data is gathered from online course named introduction to Information Technology in the 2013 academic year, particularly for spreadsheet content module having 10 learning objects. The interaction patterns only of two groups of students including scientific and nonscientific background knowledge who pass the spreadsheet examination are analyzed. Finally, learning patterns ensuring learning achievement for spreadsheet content module of those students having different background knowledge is revealed.

Today, the developing web technologies are involved in the education system, which results in the rapid spread of web based learning environments. The development of web based learning emphasizes that the skill of self-directed learning is the key element of success in the web based learning. This study aimed to present the effect of a webbased lesson on the readiness of nursing students regarding self-directed learning. The study was planned in a quasi-experimental way with a single group in the pretest-posttest order. The study group consisted of 162 second-grade students who were registered to the webbased Patient Education course in a school of nursing in Turkey during the fall semester of the school year of 2011-2012. The data were collected by using the “Information Form”, “Scale of Readiness for Self-Directed learning” during the first week of the webbased lesson and at the end of the lesson 14 weeks later. Majority of nursing students who comprised the study group were women and their age average was 20.28±1.59. All students were using the internet. The difference between the score averages of students regarding readiness for self-directed learning before and after the webbased course was found to be statistically and highly significant. The results showed that a webbased course positively affects the readiness of students regarding self-directed learning. According to these results; it could be suggested to integrate the web based learning environments into education programs in order to develop the readiness of nursing students regarding self-directed learning.

Purpose - With the arrival of the 4th Industrial Revolution and the Education 4.0 era, the inevitability of educators using technology in the classroom has grown. A global health pandemic has hastened the adoption of online teaching. The interdependence of technologies and pedagogies necessitates vigour and variability, along with evolving teaching and learning practices. Past literature has advocated for various roles and forms of technology in education;however, inconsistencies in "blended learning" definitions have posed challenges in understanding blended learning's full potential. Thus, a quantitative meta-analysis was conducted to examine the efficacies and outcomes of blended learning. Design/methodology/approach - A quantitative meta-analysis was conducted to examine the efficacies and outcomes of blended learning. A total of 96 samples were carefully chosen based on established theoretical definitions, relevant to technology use. The samples were then placed into three categories: web-based applications, standalone applications and devices. Effect sizes (ESs) acquired from Cohen's d formula (1988;1992) were used to determine overall effectiveness. The ES of individuals in each of the delivery platform categories was totalled and averaged. This combined ES was then interpreted using Cohen's (1988) benchmark. Subsequently, a combination of ESs was compared based on the similar type of delivery method, as well as the dependent variables in which the average of the respective combined ESs was calculated for interpretation. Findings - Findings show that all three delivery methods were effective in enhancing a learner's performance, especially for language teaching and learning. The study provides insights that can assist stakeholders in selecting different delivery platforms to befit the needs of discrete disciplines.
