Currently, employees' training and development plays an integral part of human resources management;it is necessary for both, the company and its employees. Today, well-educated and trained employees present a significant value for any company. Competency models are more and more used for effective human resource management. Well-designed competency models can he used by the organizations within the human resource management for various activities. The author has used the MCDM methods;AHP helped to scale down the number of measures and helped to determine the most important competencies, which lead to the design of competency model. TOPSIS method has been used to evaluate employees' performance. From a MCDM application point of view the wings can be a powerful tool for managers in problems that deal with both importance and relationship among evaluated factors, attributes or alternatives. Using wings the managers can combine the weights (importance) derived from AHP or other MCDM method and also their subjective (expert) opinion about the cause and effect of these competencies. By improving those competencies, the overall training and development should improve the employee key competencies.

Mitigating the barriers of industrial symbiosis for waste management: An integrated decision-making framework for the textile and clothing industry

Waste management in the textile and clothing (TAC) industry is a challenging issue due to high resource consumption and pollution generation. Therefore, the adoption of industrial symbiosis (IS) is the need of the hour for the TAC industry. However, the adoption of IS in emerging economies like India, Brazil, Bangladesh, etc. is limited due to various impediments. The present work aims to identify and analyse these barriers and develop mitigation strategies in the context of Indian TAC industry. Eighteen IS barriers have been identified and validated;and the interrelationships among them are studied by applying the 'weighted influence non-linear gauge system (wings)' method, which not only estimates the intensity of influence but also takes the self-strength of barriers into account. The results show that lack of trust amongst supply chain partners, lack of financial incentives from the government, lack of guidance from regularity bodies and industry associations and lack of consumer awareness are the most significant barriers. Additionally, the strategies to mitigate these barriers are developed based on a quadruple helix framework considering academia--government-industry-society as the main actors. The findings of the study will be helpful for the TAC industry, policymakers and other concerned stakeholders in framing suitable strategies to improve the long-term waste management practices of the industry and to achieve sustainable development goals (SDGs).

Climate neutrality in agriculture food supply chain: an integrated wings-GRID framework

PurposeSubstantial pressure from civil society and investors has forced governments around the world to take climate neutrality initiatives. Several countries have pledged their nationally determined contributions towards net-zero. However, there exist various obstacles to achieving the same and the agriculture sector is one of them. Thus, this study identifies and models the critical barriers to achieving climate neutrality in the agriculture food supply chain (AFSC).Design/methodology/approachSixteen barriers are identified through a literature survey and are validated by the questionnaire survey. Furthermore, the interactions amongst the barriers are estimated through the application of the "weighted influence non-linear gauge system (wings)" method which considers the both intensity of influence and the strength of the barrier. To mitigate these barriers, a framework based on green, resilient and inclusive development (GRID) is *** obtained results reveal that lack of collaboration amongst AFSC stakeholders, lack of information and education awareness, and lack of technical expertise obtained a higher rank (amongst the top five) in three indicators of the wings method and thus are the most significant ***/valueThis paper is the first attempt in modelling the climate neutrality barriers for the Indian AFSC. Additionally, the mitigating strategies are prepared using the GRID framework.

Digital Twin (DT) is a technology platform that is revolutionizing the supply chain digitization process by creating virtual representations of physical systems. Agro-food supply chain (AFSC) is one of the most important supply chains that can be made more efficient by widespread adoption of DT. However, the adoption and implementation of DT in AFSC is very limited due to various hindrances. Thus, it is imperative to identify and analyze the DT barriers thoroughly;and subsequently, develop strategies to overcome the dominant barriers for the successful implementation of DT in AFSC. This study identifies the barriers to DT implementation through a literature review and experts' opinions. The interaction amongst the barriers is captured using the "Weighted Influence Non-linear Gauge System (wings)" method. Lack of technology infrastructure, technology immaturity, and high capital investment emerge as the dominant causal barriers. Furthermore, to overcome the identified barriers, a framework based on a triple helix approach is suggested. The findings of the study will be useful for government agencies, policymakers, agricultural institutions, and agro-food industry stakeholders to eliminate the obstacles to the successful implementation of DT in AFSC.

An improved wings-ISM approach with consensus model in group decision-making for addressing critical success factors of collaborative emergency management

Since the variety and destructiveness of unexpected natural disasters and health emergencies, and the weakness of emergency systems around the world, studies on collaborative emergency management (CEM) are receiving increasingly attention recently. The existing literature has proved that with respect to the constraint of limited resources, it's usually unrealistic for CEM practitioners to push forward all influential factors that affect the comprehensive performance of CEM simultaneously. Thus, identifying the most critical success factors (CSFs) is of great significance to promote the effectiveness of CEM practices. To achieve this intention, we proposed a novel multi-granularity extended probabilistic linguistic weighted influence nonlinear gauge system and interpretative structural modeling (wings-ISM) approach with a consensus model optimized by the convolutional neural network algorithm. The new technique specializes in addressing the CSFs of episodes involving CEM characterized by the combination of uncertainty and complexity in group decision-making process. To validate its feasibility and robustness, we mainly investigate 10 CSFs to conduct an illustrative CEM case, the result shows that 'Applicable emergency response plan and regulations', 'Government unity of leadership and coordination' and 'Reasonable organizational structure and clear functions' are identified out of 10 influential factors. Besides, the cause-effect and hierarchal relationship digraphs indicate that the CSFs of CEM are interconnected, and this finding can support CEM practitioners to devote more attention to the most important factors, which may yield more improvements in CEM practices. Finally, some research implications are provided for better improving the effectiveness of CEM practices based on the findings of this study.

Presented paper is devoted to the issue of employees' training and development system based on the competency modeling and utilization of the multiple criteria decision making methods. The objective of the work and used methods is described in the introduction part. First part of the work will be devoted to the theoretical backgrounds of employees' training and development and competency modeling. This chapter will be based on the research of Czech and foreign literature. Second chapter will be dedicated to the description of multiple criteria decision making methods that will be used in this paper. Third part of the work will deal with brief description of the company and the analysis of current employees' training and development system in a specific organization, i.e. middle size company producing automotive parts. Key role will be played by the wings - method for finding causal relations among criteria, in order to find if there are causal relationships among researched competencies.
