the increase of the amount of open services on the web, combining these web services to develop interesting and innovative applications has attracted extensive attention. web services, service-based applications, service providers and consumers on the Internet have contributed to the emergence of the so-called "web service ecosystem". Accurate understanding and systematic analysis of the web service ecosystem is of paramount value. This work takes the service data collected from *** as an empirical dataset and focuses on analyzing the web service composition network. We propose a three-level view model for visualization of the web service network, i.e., the web api graph, the tag graph, and the domain graph. We firstly present the models and the constructing approaches of the graphs, and then analyze their structural characteristics. This work is not only helpful for understanding the web service ecosystem, but also can provide support to service consumers for discovering appropriate services in developing interesting and innovative applications.

Pre-trained models have shown their significant values on a number of natural language processing (NLP) tasks. However, there is still a lack of corresponding work in the field of service computing to effectively utilize the rich knowledge accumulated in the web service ecosystem. In this paper, we propose ServiceBERT, which learns domain knowledge of web service ecosystem aiming to support service intelligence tasks, such as web api tagging and Mashup-oriented api recommendation. The ServiceBERT is developed with the Transformer-based neural architecture. In addition to using the objective of masked language modeling (MLM), we also introduce the replaced token detection (RTD) objective for efficiently learning pre-trained model. Finally, we also implement the contrastive learning to learn noise-invariant representations at the sentence level in pre-training stage. Comprehensive experiments on two service-related tasks successfully demonstrate the better performance of ServiceBERT through the comparison with a variety of representative methods.

web applications increasingly integrate third-party services. The integration introduces new security challenges due to the complexity for an application to coordinate its internal states with those of the component services and the web client across the Internet. In this paper, we study the security implications of this problem to merchant websites that accept payments through third-party cashiers (e. g., PayPal, Amazon Payments and Google Checkout), which we refer to as Cashier-as-a-Service or CaaS. We found that leading merchant applications (e. g., NopCommerce and Interspire), popular online stores (e. g., Buy. com and JR. com) and a prestigious CaaS provider (Amazon Payments) all contain serious logic flaws that can be exploited to cause inconsistencies between the states of the CaaS and the merchant. As a result, a malicious shopper can purchase an item at an arbitrarily low price, shop for free after paying for one item, or even avoid payment. We reported our findings to the affected parties. They either updated their vulnerable software or continued to work on the fixes with high priorities. We further studied the complexity in finding this type of logic flaws in typical CaaS-based checkout systems, and gained a preliminary understanding of the effort that needs to be made to improve the security assurance of such systems during their development and testing processes.

The advent of the web of Things as an application layer for the Internet of Things has led to the proliferation of web services exposing data and functionality of the networked objects. Since resource-oriented architectures align well with the WoT architectures, RESTful services have been the go-to interface to expose the connected devices on the web. However, the heterogeneity of descriptions of devices and services as well as underlying IoT-level protocols has led to a number of interoperability issues. Recently, the growing popularity of semantically-enabled services has led to the emergence of services described with and exchanging RDF. In this position paper, we attempt to frame the challenges encountered in enabling semantic interoperability of heterogeneous WoT services, with the help of a real world production line scenario. We also propose preliminary solutions to the main issues hampering the establishment of true semantic interoperability on the WoT.

web based e-Education systems are an important kind of information systems that benefited from web standards for content, implementation, deployment and integration. An e-Education system requires the collaboration of many actors in a complete ecosystem: public authorities (e.g. Ministry) and knowledge engineers, who build official reference standards;teachers and pedagogical engineers, who build digital pedagogical resources;and IT engineers who build digital platforms for e-Learning. In this article we propose and evaluate a Semantic web approach to support the features and interoperability of a real industrial e-Education system in production. We show how ontology-based knowledge representation supports the required features, their extension to new ones and the integration of external resources (e.g. official standards) as well as interoperability with other systems and knowledge sharing between different actors. Our proof of concept is entirely based on Semantic web technologies and complies with the industrial constraints;we qualitatively and quantitatively evaluated it and performed a benchmark of different alternatives on real data and real queries. We present an in-depth evaluation of the quality of service and response time in this industrial context that shows on a real-world testbed that Semantic web based solutions can meet the industrial requirements, both in terms of services and efficiency compared to existing operational solutions.

Customer satisfaction is one of the most important factors in home building industry for a successful business. Furthermore, customer service is the most important component affecting home buyer satisfaction. Visiting a design center usually takes 5–7 hours for each customer to select all the interior options for the whole house. Time would be saved and frustration avoided if the options could be reviewed beforehand. The goal of this project is to implement a customer portal for home buyers to select options for their homes. Before the web portal can be implemented, a lit- erature review is required about the technologies needed for the implementation. Several technologies are researched about web application framework, application programming interface, user interface design and security. This thesis presents a design and implementation for a web portal using modern technologies. React is selected from the frameworks for the implementation be- cause of its performance and suitability for small projects. In addition, web api is used as the application programming interface due to its evolvability, flexibility, performance and ease of use. User interface design tips and guidelines are given about website design, navi- gation and page design. The page navigation guidelines proved to be the most useful of the tips for this project. The security part of this project reviews com- mon security risks, access control, token-based authentication and single sign-on. The technologies selected for the implementation proved to be appropriate for this project. Thus, they can be recommended for anyone implementing a web application.

With the increase of open apis appeared on the web, reusing or combining these apis to develop novel applications (e.g. Mashups) has attracted great interest from developers. However, to quickly find a suitable one among a huge number of apis to meet a developer's requirement is basically a non-trivial issue. Therefore, a high-quality api recommendation system is desirable. Although a number of collaborative filtering methods have been proposed for api recommendation, their recommendation accuracy is limited and needs to be further improved. Based on the neural graph collaborative filtering technique, this paper proposes an api recommendation method that exploits the high-order connectivity between apis and api users. To evaluate the proposed method, extensive experiments are conducted on a real api dataset and the results show that the proposed method outperforms the state-of-the-art methods in api recommendation.

Due to its importance and widespread use in industry, automated testing of REST apis has attracted major interest from the research community in the last few years. However, most of the work in the literature has been focused on black-box fuzzing. Although existing fuzzers have been used to automatically find many faults in existing apis, there are still several open research challenges that hinder the achievement of better results (e.g., in terms of code coverage and fault finding). For example, under-specified schemas are a major issue for black-box fuzzers. Currently, EvoMaster is the only existing tool that supports white-box fuzzing of REST apis. In this paper, we provide a series of novel white-box heuristics, including for example how to deal with under-specified constrains in api schemas, as well as under-specified schemas in SQL databases. Our novel techniques are implemented as an extension to our open-source, search-based fuzzer EvoMaster. An empirical study on 14 apis from the EMB corpus, plus one industrial api, shows clear improvements of the results in some of these apis.
