In this work we present a free web api for single and multi-text summarization. The summarization algorithm follows an extractive approach, thus selecting the most relevant sentences from a single document or a document set. It integrates in a novel pipeline different text analysis techniques - ranging from keyword and entity extraction, to topic modelling and sentence clustering - and gives SoA competitive results. The application, written in Python, supports as input both plain texts and web URLs. The api is publicly accessible for free using the specific conference token(1) as described in the reference page(2). The browser-based demo version, for summarization of single documents only, is publicly accessible at http://***/demo.

In the mashup ecosystem, web apis often form cooperative communities which evolve with time. Understanding how these communities form and evolve with time is very important to help develop strategies for improving ecosystems of web apis. This paper empirically studies the evolution of web api cooperative communities based on the data of web apis and mashups from Programmable web. It is found that 20% of web apis account for half of the connections in their communities. The web api communities identified in terms of mashups seem to be stable. Every two years, there is a 27% growth in the number of new communities, 10% dissolve, 30% tend to expand, while 5% become smaller. It is a key stage when a web api community becomes medium sized because in this stage, there is a high probability that a web api community reduces its size or even dissolves.

The rapid increase in the number and diversity of web apis with similar functionality, makes it challenging to find suitable ones for mashup development. In order to reduce the number of similarly functional web apis, recommender systems are used. Various web api recommendation methods exist which attempt to improve recommendation accuracy, by mainly using some discovered relationships between web apis and mashups. Such methods are basically incapable of recommending quality web apis because they fail to incorporate web api quality in their recommender systems. In this work, we propose a method that considers the quality features of web apis, to make quality web api recommendations. Our proposed method uses web api quality to estimate their relevance for recommendation. Specifically, we propose a matrix factorization method, with quality feature regularization, to make quality web api recommendations and also enhance recommendation diversity. We demonstrate the effectiveness of our method by conducting experiments on a real-world dataset from ***. Our results not only show quality web api recommendations, but also, improved recommendation accuracy. In addition, our proposed method improves recommendation diversity by mitigating the negative Matthew effect of accumulated advantage, intrinsic to most existing web api recommender systems. We also compare our method with some baseline recommendation methods for validation.

Mobile Cloud Computing is gaining more popularity in both mobile users and enterprises. With mobile-first becoming enterprise IT strategy and more enterprises exposing their business services to mobile cloud through web api, the security of mobile cloud computing becomes a main concern and key successful factor as well. This paper shows the security challenges of mobile cloud computing and defines an end-to-end secure mobile cloud computing reference architecture. Then it shows web api security is a key to the end-to-end security stack and specifies traditional api security mechanism and two multifactor web api security strategy and mechanism. Finally, it compares the security features provided by ten api gateway providers.

The growing popularity of smartphone users causes more applications produced which each requires maintaining good quality. Most of these applications use mobile thick client architecture. A mobile thick client application can be used offline, thus compensating the bandwidth requirement that is needed by most mobile applications. web api is also popular to be used as data source. These facts implicates the need to measure mobile thick client that uses web api quality objectively and practically so that developer can build high quality application that can compete within the other mobile application. Unfortunately, there has yet to be a research that discusses quality measurement specific for mobile thick client that uses web api. This research propose a quality model for mobile thick client that uses web api. The model is developed based on ISO 25010. Goal-Question-Metrics (GQM) method is used to characterize the metrics. The proposed model provides technical steps to measure the metrics. It comes with the tools to get the metrics value. This model focuses on performance efficiency and reliability quality characteristics. Thus, it is suitable to use by developers who wants to build robust and lightweight application.

With the advance of service computing technology, the number of web apis has risen dramatically over the Internet. Users tend to use web apis to achieve their business needs. However, it is difficult for users to find and select the desirable ones due to the plethora of web apis. To address this problem, some collaborative filtering-based web api recommendation methods have been proposed even though their performance is still far from satisfaction, since they only rely on Mashup-api interactions and feature interactions are not considered in the recommendation model. To further improve the recommendation performance, this paper proposes an interactive web api recommendation method via exploring both Mashup-api interactions and functional description documents of Mashups and web apis. Specifically, LightGCN is employed to derive the node representations for the Mashup-api interaction graph, and BERT model is used for the text representations of functional description documents. Furthermore, the two presentations of both the Mashup and web api are concatenated as the input of ANFM (Attentional Neural Factorization Machine) model, in which low and high-order feature interactions are fully modeled and the weights of feature interactions are trained by attention mechanism. Solid experiments are conducted over a real-world dataset and the experimental results indicate that the proposed method outperforms the baseline methods.

Nowadays, hybrid solutions that manage the interaction between desktop platforms and web applications and mobile devices are steadily gaining more and more importance. In this context, the use of web services stands as the development technology to use. In this paper an automatable approach for the conversion of code from a desktop application to a web service is presented. In order to demonstrate this approach, a real-life based scenario is presented, in which the services of an ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system were made available, automatically, via web services, using the web api (Application Programming Interface) framework from Microsoft.

With the development of service computing technology, the number of publicly available web apis online has increased dramatically. Developers tend to use web apis to implement their software development requirements. However, due to the large number of web apis, how to select the appropriate web api from the huge resource library for Mashup development has become a challenge. To solve this problem, some researchers have proposed web api recommendation methods based on collaborative filtering or matrix factorization. However, the web api recommendation performance is still limited due to the reliance on Mashup-api interaction and the ignorance of Mashup and web api description documents. Moreover, the Mashup-api interaction matrix is extremely sparse, resulting in low accuracy in matrix factorization and collaborative filtering. To further improve the recommendation performance, we propose a novel joint matrix factorization method for the Mashup-api interaction matrix by incorporating the Mashup-Mashup similarity matrix and the api-api similarity matrix. A set of experiments are conducted on a real-world dataset, and the experimental results show that the proposed method outperforms the baselines.

With the extensive applications of web apis, to monitor and analyze personal web api invocation behaviors is becoming more and more important. However, due to the fact that the users' web api invocation behaviors are highly heterogeneous, it is extremely challenging to provide a unified framework. In the paper, we introduce a predictive web api Invocation Behavior Monitoring System (AIMS). AIMS automatically analyzes the predictability of users' invocation behaviors and for the user whose behaviors can be predicted, an adaptive strategy is applied to generate the predictions in an adaptive way. In addition, a context-aware K-nearest neighbor classifier is applied to detect the anomaly of user's invocation behaviors. Experiments on both a real-world dataset and synthetic dataset show AIMS is efficient in analyzing personal api invocation behaviors.
