Although spherical displays become more and more pervasive, the design of interactive content for these displays still remains difficult as it requires most developers to get familiar with specific tools for managing the output and input. In this paper, we present a framework for developing applications for multitouch spherical displays that makes it possible to create interactive content by programming standard GUI applications, as for example interactive web pages. The principal idea is to adapt the window output and interaction input of classical GUIs outside the application. To this end, our framework consists of two standalone applications where the first one captures the window output and changes the projection via GPU shaders, and the second one adapts the input with a *** server and sends interaction and mouse events. In this way, the same application runs on a standard desktop, and on the spherical display. Advantages of our approach include fast prototyping, and the fact that masses of developers can create applications for spherical displays just as if it were, for example, classical web applications. We believe that our framework will contribute to making spherical displays even more pervasive in the future.

The main purpose of Computer-Supported Collaborative Learning (CSCL) is to improve academic performance through collaborative systems design. To increase the quantity and quality of interactions in CSCL and to reduce feelings of loneliness and burnout during online learning, learner group regulation should be supported. According to the literature, performance and learning motivation cannot be achieved if group communication and interactions are not adequately supported in collaborative learning. However, studies comparing traditional online teamwork and co-regulation guidance are rare. In this context, the purpose of this study is to determine the effects of experimental application designed using agile project management tools to support students' group regulation in collaborative teamwork in online environments on co-regulation, transactive memory, group cohesion, atmosphere, and participation in web programming education. 91 university students participated in this study, which was carried out in the web programming course. The application lasted 17 weeks. Qualitative and quantitative data were collected in the study, which was designed with the mixed method. As a result of the research, there was a significant difference between the co-regulation, group cohesion, and group participation scores of the students in group regulation guidance practices through agile learning strategies, according to the intervention groups. It was concluded that the experimental application had positive effects on the improvement of group dynamics. This study provides an example of how to develop co-regulation practices in online collaborative contexts.

Software mashups - web applications that combine content from multiple web sites to an integrated experience have rapidly become a popular trend. Due to the novelty of mashup development, methods, tools, and architectures for creating mashups are still rather undeveloped, and there is little engineering support behind them, even if the most common architectural requirements for composing mashups can be easily identified. In this paper we present a list of architectural issues and derive a reference architecture to serve as a starting point for the design of new mashups. The long-term goal of our work is to facilitate the development and maintenance of robust, secure, and compelling mashups, and more generally ease the transition towards web-based software development.

In the past ten years, the web has become a dominant deployment environment for new software systems and applications. In view of its current popularity, it is easy to forget that only 10-15 years ago hardly any developer would write serious software applications for the web. Today, the use of the web browser as a software platform is commonplace, and JavaScript has become one of the most popular programming languages in the world. In this paper we revisit some predictions that were made over ten years ago when the Lively Kernel project was started back in 2006. Ten years later, most of the elements of the original vision have been fulfilled, although not entirely in the fashion we originally envisioned. We look back at the Lively Kernel vision, reflecting our original goals to the state of the art in web programming today.
