Simulation output analysis has received little attention comparing to modeling and programming in realworld simulation applications. This is further evidenced by our observation that students and beginners acquire neither adequate details of knowledge nor relevant experience of simulation output analysis in traditional classroom learning. With the advances in the Internet learning environment, web-based computer-based training (CBT) can efficiently and effectively enhance the traditional classroom learning. This research addresses the issue of designing a web-based CBT course to assist the classroom instruction in helping students learn better simulation problem solving. The goal is to provide an effective way to learn the implicit experience of simulation output analysis via an efficient interactive environment. A prototype asynchronous web CBT system with simulation analysis guidelines was built to verify our design through a three-stage formative usability evaluation. The results showed that the simulation analysis guidelines organized by this research significantly improved the test scores and the interactive CBT system maintained students' interests longer than the written format. It was helpful for the learner to calm down, relieve the worry and enhance the study efficiency. With this, It was widely applied in all kinds of places. The web-based course had received people's more and more favors because it provided more study opportunities, the richer the learning resources is and the more flexible learning environment. The second degree program in universities has been commonly recognised by the society and students. This paper analyses the instructional problems in the second degree program and the necessity of developing online learning platforms to support the second degree program. This paper describes the design of a sample web-based course for the second degree program in Shandong Normal University, focusing on its multimedia resource database construction, video resource construction, and platform construction. The use of the online course shows that it could address the common problems existed in the second degree program. Also, the student examination result displays that the students' performance after using the online course has been improved. Suggestions are collected from students' interviews and will be further incorporated into the revision of the course and new development of other courses.

This study investigated online learner participation in the context of a web-based course. The course included seven chapters including synchronous audio discussion and asynchronous blog discussion. Data were collected from synchronous chat room participation, asynchronous blog writing and reading participation, the diagnostic test after each chapter, and the final exam. Content analysis and social network analysis were employed in analysing the data. The result showed that the content of discussion would be the trigger of engagement in synchronous participation. However, asynchronous participation to a large extent, takes place within subgroups due to the close relationship. The present research paved a way forward by integrating synchronous activities into an asynchronous setting. And it also provided teachers with a realistic picture on the possibilities and limitations of integrating blogs and audio discussions into the curriculum.

The mobile internet is a new and fast developing industry, which requires a lot of talent. The computer major in vocational colleges faces the difficulty of recruiting students and a low employment rate of graduates. The solution is to establish new courses in line with the development of IT industry. Android programming is an important technology of the mobile internet. Constructing a web-based course can propagate this new technology to higher vocational students. After analysing the learning characteristics of higher vocational students and the course characteristics of Android programming, this article proposes a framework for the web-based course on Android programming for higher vocational students and discusses how to design the course content by applying project-based teaching. The course embodies personalised learning, project-oriented teaching, mutual aid learning, and mobile learning. The result shows that the course is useful for students to study Android programming and majority of the students engage with the designed learning activities in the course.
