With increasing rate of storing and sharing information in the cloud by the users, data storage brings new challenges to the Extensible Markup Language (xml) database in big data environments. The efficient retrieval of data with protection and privacy issues for accessing mass data in the cloud is more and more important. Most of existing research about xml data query and retrieval focuses on efficiency or establishing the index, and so on. However, these methods or algorithms do not take into account the data and data structure for their own safety issues. Furthermore, traditional access control rules read xml document node in a dynamic environment, relevant dynamic query-based keyword research data security and privacy protection requirements are not many. In order to improve the search efficiency with security condition, this paper examines how to generate the sub-tree of matching keywords that the user can access by the access control rules for the user's role. The corresponding algorithm is proposed to achieve safe and efficient keywords search.

Recently, the use of xml for data broadcasting in mobile wireless networks has gained many attentions. One of the most essential requirements for such networks is data confidentiality. In order to secure xml data broadcast in mobile wireless networks, mobile clients should obey a set of access authorizations specified on the original xml document. In such environments, mobile clients can only access authorized parts of encrypted xml stream based on their access authorizations. Several indexing methods have been proposed in order to have selective access to xml data over the xml stream. However, these indexing methods cannot be used for encrypted xml data. In this paper, we define a new structure for xml stream which supports data confidentiality of xml data over the wireless broadcast channel. We also define an access mechanism for our proposed structure to efficiently process xml queries over the encrypted xml stream. The experimental results demonstrate that the use of our proposed structure and access mechanism for xml data broadcast efficiently disseminates xml data in mobile wireless networks. Several languages have been proposed over the past years which support the specification of access control oil xml data. Most of these languages consider read-access restrictions only and do not deal with access rights for updates (such as add, delete, or modify operations). Fine-grain xml update operations are subject to current research. This paper proposes XACU, a language for specifying access control on xml. data in the presence of update operations. The update operations used in XACU are based oil the W3C XQuery. Update Facility working draft. A formal access control model is defined which allows to study propel-ties of XACU access policies. One essential property is consistency: the policy should not;allow the execution of a sequence of updates which lifts the same total effect, as an update forbidden by the policy. Since XACU is a rich language with inherent ambiguities, checking consistency of a set of XACU rules is difficult, and undecidable in general.

xml (eXtensible Markup Language) is fast becoming the de facto standard for information exchange over the Internet. As more and more sensitive information gets stored in the form of xml, proper access control to the xml documents becomes increasingly important. However, traditional access control methodologies that have been adapted for xml documents do not address the performance issue of access control. This paper proposes a bitmap-indexing scheme in which access control decisions can be sped up. Authorization policies of the form ( subject, object, and action) are encoded as bitmaps in the same manner as xml document indexes are constructed. These two are then efficiently pipelined and manipulated for "fast" access control and "secure" retrieval of xml documents.

Chip-Secured xml access (C-SXA) is a versatile and tamper-resistant xml-based access Right controller embedded in a smart card. C-SXA can be used either to protect the privacy of on-board personal data or to control the flow of data extracted from an external source. Tamper-resistance is inherited from the smart card for on-board data or achieved using cryptographic techniques for external data. C-SXA can provide different views of the same on-board or external data depending on the user or application accessing them. Moreover, access control on external data can benefit from on-board storage to enforce powerful, context dependant access control policies. These two features allow C-SXA to address a wide range of applications such as secure portable folders, data sharing among a community of users, parental control and Digital Right Management, in a more secure and accurate way than existing technologies. This work relates the C-SXA experience. We first motivate the interest of the approach and describe different usage scenarios. We then present the internals of C-SXA and show how they tackle the smart card's hardware limitations. Finally, we demonstrate its viability showing how our smart card engine can be integrated in a distributed architecture including the smart card, the server and the user terminal, making the complete chain from the user to the data secure
