In this work, we propose a new criterion for blind channel shortening based on high order statistical information. This method overcomes the weakness of two existing channel shortening criteria derived from only second order output statistics of the unknown channel. It is applicable to both single-input-single-output and single-input-multiple-output frequency selective channels. The optimization criterion can be achieved through either a stochastic gradient descent algorithm or a batch algorithm. simulation results demonstrate successful shortening of wireless channels that the existing criteria fail to shorten.

In last few years, Proxy Re-Encryption has been used for forwarding the encrypted message to the user, these users are the one who has not been a part of encryption. In the past several scheme were developed in order to provide the efficient and secure proxy re-encryption. However, these methodology mainly focused on features like maximum key privacy, minimal trust proxy and others. In such cases the efficiency and security was mainly ignored. Hence, in order to provide the efficient and secure proxy re-encryption, we proposed an algorithm named as MLBC (Modified Lattice Based Cryptography) is proposed. Our method is based on the PKE (Public Key Encryption) and it provides more efficiency when compared to the other cryptography technique. Later in order to evaluate the algorithm simulation is done based on several parameter such as encryption time, proxy key generation time, Re-encryption time and Total computation time. Later, it is compared with the existing algorithm and the plotted graph clearly shows that our algorithm outperforms the existing algorithm.

A novel deterministic paradigm for creating quantum computing via photon transactions with the electrons of an atom is described. This paradigm is free of quantum logic. The practically focused evolutionary path of quantum computing starting with the classical approach is shown: Memory-Address-Transaction → Electron-Address-Transaction Electron → Address- Quantaction (EAQ). Qubit-vector models for describing functionalities are proposed that differ from the known truth tables in the compactness of description and technological ability of the algorithm implementation for synthesis and analysis of digital devices and SoC components. For example, we consider a memory-driven algorithm for the simulation of digital devices based on qubit-vector forms for describing functionalities with a significant increase in the performance of computational processes. These processes can be utilized for analysis and synthesis through parallel execution of logic operations. A set of comparative estimates of qubit models and methods for improving the efficiency of the algorithms for simulating digital devices is presented.

In this paper, we derive a new improved proportionate normalized least mean square (IPNLMS) algorithm with unconventional minimization criterion that minimizes the summation of each squared Euclidean norm of difference between the currently updated coefficient vector and past coefficient vectors, which is called the improved IPNLMS (I-IPNLMS) algorithm. simulation results demonstrate that the proposed I-IPNLMS algorithm has the superiority of the lower misalignment than the conventional IPNLMS algorithm in the context of sparse system identification with a low signal-noise-ratio (SNR).

This paper studies how to determine an optimal order of recovering interdependent Cyber Physical Systems (CPS) after a large scale failure. In such a CPS, some failed devices must be repaired first before others can. In addition, such failed devices require a certain amount of repair resources and may take multiple stages to repair. We consider two scenarios: 1) reserved model where all the required repair resources should be prepared at the beginning of repairing a device;and 2) opportunistic model where we can partially repair a device with only part of the required resources. For each scenario, we model it using an Integer Linear Programming (ILP) and use a relaxation and rounding method to design an ILP based algorithm. In addition, we also design a Dynamic Programming (DP) based algorithm. simulation results show that ILP based algorithm outperforms DP based algorithm by 10%-20% in systems with less than 200 failed devices, but DP based algorithm can support extreme large size systems with more than 5000 failed devices.

This work describes how feed-forward Artificial Neural Networks (ANNs) can perform Analog-to-Digital (A/D) conversion with a linear and non-linear relationship between the analog input and the digital output in order to eliminate the linearization stage without modifying the analog-to-digital converter's elements and architecture. Adding to that, the speed of this A/D converter will not be reduced due to the unchanged conversion algorithm. simulation for two types of non-linear input has been performed. The results are discussed and a future work is presented.

This paper presents a decentralized moving horizon observer (DMHO) which enables the distributed implementation of centralized controllers. The observation problem is formulated within the moving horizon observer (MHO) framework as a convex optimization problem which depends on the system dynamics and the latest noisy measurements. These measurements are distributed among the observers by an allocation algorithm which guarantees local observability. The communication topology of the observers is represented by a graph and reflected in the optimization problem by additional consensus constraints. A dual decomposition technique is used to derive a decoupled dual optimization problem which is solved by a subgradient method to yield a decentralized algorithm. simulation results of a closed-loop four tank system demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.

In this paper, we propose a symmetrical EEG/fMRI fusion algorithm which combines EEG and fMRI by means of a common generative model. The use of a total variation (TV) prior as well as spatially adaptive temporal priors enables adaptation to the local characteristics of the estimated responses. We utilize an approximate variational Bayesian framework and obtain a fully automatic fusion algorithm. simulation results demonstrate that the proposed algorithm outperforms existing EEG/fMRI fusion methods.

The so-called heuristics have been widely used in solving combinatorial optimization problems because they provide a simple but effective way to find an approximate solution. These technologies are very useful for users who do not need the exact solution but who care very much about the response time. For every existing heuristic algorithm has its pros and cons, a hyper-heuristic clustering algorithm based on the diversity detection and improvement detection operators to determine when to switch from one heuristic algorithm to another is presented to improve the clustering result in this paper. Several well-known datasets are employed to evaluate the performance of the proposed algorithm. simulation results show that the proposed algorithm can provide a better clustering result than the state-of-the-art heuristic algorithms compared in this paper, namely, k-means, simulated annealing, tabu search, and genetic k-means algorithm.

A multiphysical algorithm for modeling and design of magnetic bearings (MB) has been developed. The presented parametric algorithm can be used for designing a magnetic bearing or predict the behavior of an already known system. The presentation includes a detailed description of the computation algorithm, simulation results, and derived design criteria. The simulation results are evaluated by measurements.
