A study with K-9 Greek students was conducted in order to evaluate how the declarative knowledge acquisition was affected by incorporating arduino experiments in secondary Chemistry Education. A Digital Application (DA) that blends the use of the arduino sensors' experiments with digital educational material, including Virtual Labs (VLs), was constructed from scratch to be used through the Interactive Board (IB) as a learning tool by three different student groups (N = 154). In the first stage of the learning process, all groups used only the digital material of the DA. In the second stage, the three groups used different learning tools of the DA. Through the IB, the first group used arduino experiments, the second one the VLs, and the third only static visualizations. A pre- to post-test statistical analysis demonstrated that the first two groups were equivalent in regard to achievement in declarative knowledge tests and of a higher level than the third group. Therefore, it can be concluded that conducting arduino experiments in a mixed virtual-physical environment results in equivalent learning gains in declarative knowledge as those attained by using VL experimentation through the IB.

In this research, a control system in the form of a syringe pump has been developed to control the volume and flow rate of a liquid or a solution. The syringe pump is fabricated by controlling the speed and pulse width modulation (PWM) of stepper motors based on the arduino Uno microcontroller board. The tools used are a stepper motor as a syringe driver, the arduino Uno as a controller, a four-digit seven-segment display and a keypad matrix as an input interface. The syringe pump works by pushing the injection pump whose speed has been adjusted to the flow rate. The speed of the flow rate and volume are obtained by setting the delay time of the stepper motor using PWM pins from the arduino Uno. The syringe pump is observed to work in the flow rate range of 0.10-12.00 ml h(-1). The system can be applied to medical settings as the control of volume and flow rate of drug fluids as well as with nanofibres using electrospinning technique.

Overweight and obesity promote diabetes and heart disease onset. Triglycerides are key biomarkers for cardiovascular disease, strokes, and other health issues. Scientists have devised methods and instruments for the detection of these molecules in liquid samples. In this study, an enzymatic biosensor was developed using an arduino-based microfluidic platform, wherein a lipolytic enzyme was immobilized on an ethylene-vinyl acetate polymer through physical adsorption. This low-cost optical biosensor employed a spectrophotometric transducer and was assessed in liquid samples to indirectly detect triglycerides and fatty acids using p-nitrophenol as an indicator. The average triglyceride level detected in the conducted experiments was 47.727 mg/dL. The biosensor exhibited a percentage of recovery of 81.12% and a variation coefficient of 0.791%. Furthermore, the biosensor demonstrated the ability to detect triglyceride levels without the need for sample dilution, ranging from 7.6741 mg/dL to 58.835 mg/dL. This study successfully developed an efficient and affordable enzymatic biosensor prototype for triglyceride and fatty acid detection. The lipolytic enzyme immobilization on the polymer substrate provided a stable and reproducible detection system, rendering this biosensor an exciting option for the detection of these molecules.

The aim of this paper is to present novel highly sensitive and stretchable strain sensors using data analysis to report on human live parameters using the arduino embedded system as a proof of concept in developing new and innovative solutions for health care. The article introduces the solution of textile sensor origination with electrical resistance measurement using the mobile arduino microcontroller in the designed/elaborated textile printed sensor. The textile sensor was developed by the screen printing technique based on the water dispersion of carbon nanotubes during printing composition. By stretching and squeezing the T-shirt during breathing, the electrical resistances of the printed sensor were changed. The measured resistance corresponded to the number of breaths of the person wearing the T-shirt. The microcontroller calculated the number of breaths as a number of electrical resistance peaks, which then led to monitoring human live parameters.

The remarkable technological development observed in recent decades has led to an exponential increase in the production of electrical and electronic devices. Regardless of their field of application or the type of device, electronic boards are a common feature of all these devices. For this reason, electronic boards represent a constant in electrical and electronic equipment waste. Knowing their composition and intrinsic economic value is essential for identifying sustainable disposal and valorization processes. In the literature, several articles report typical compositions of electronic boards, but it is rare to find a component-by-component characterization. This procedure is important to determine the components that need to be removed to increase the recovery yields of materials or to identify components with high concentrations of hazardous substances. For this reason, in this scientific article, we propose to examine the chemical composition of all the components of the arduino(& REG;) electronic board using advanced chemical analysis techniques. arduino is a popular electronic board mainly used to prototype electronic projects rapidly. The chemical composition of the arduino board has yet to be entirely determined to date. The decision to use the arduino board is due to the fact that this board is widespread globally and could represent a reference study.

This experiment is developed with the aim of designing a temperature-controlled sample holder by using a commonly available power transistor as the heating element. Most temperature-controlled sample holders use commonplace heaters, which are made of high resistance materials like nichrome 80/20 (80% nickel, 20% chromium) wire and similar materials. The fabrication of this temperature-controlled sample holder also leads to the usage of high power electronic components, like power transistors and power resistors which are, otherwise, neglected in most laboratory experiments. Moreover, to develop this system, arduino Uno Rev3 and resistance temperature detector (RTD) were used for the purposes of data acquisition and temperature measurement, respectively. arduino is a single board micro-controller and RTD functions as a temperature sensor. This experiment serves as a good example of application and unification of basic concepts of electronics, heat and thermodynamics and offers an insight into data acquisition. The experiment is non-proprietary, and the apparatus is entirely made from off-the-shelf items. Thus, reconstruction and use will be simple and inexpensive. The power transistor, along with the power resistors, generates enough heat to raise the temperature of the sample holder by about 100 K. Also, to exhibit the working of the sample-holder, the energy band gap of the material of a p-n junction diode (silicon) has been determined experimentally using the setup.

The main motive of our research work is security enhancement and light energy conservation. This paper describes a study investigating the potential of a controlled office solution by integrating the Internet of Things (IoT) with wireless sensor networks (WSNs). A prototype of a smart office is developed using a global system of mobile Bluetooth and Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology. The user can turn on and off the fan remotely at any time. This prototype focuses on security and provides human-friendly assistance when in or out of the Office by integrating a mobile application platform. The innovative automated smart Office is designed with intelligent Security doors, lights, alarms, temperature humidifiers, and bright Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) screens for viewing. Our study has opened up virtual possibilities for producing cheap innovative frameworks in this Generation of IoT and the fifth Generation (5G) technology. Therefore, when implemented, this innovation will ease and improve human quality of life. So, this paper aims to provide a low-cost, effective Internet of the things-based automated smart Office.

The automation industry is entirely dependent on closed-loop control strategies to address the inherent and time derived uncertain disturbances. PI control design has been in existence for solving the stability issues raised in any automated process. This research provides one such controller solution for the real-time nonlinear Two Input Two Output (TITO) spherical tank system, which is implemented on the arduino Mega microcontroller. The arduino based PI controller provides a cost-effective PI controller for this real-time system. In addition, the paper also discusses the servo response time and error analysis to assess the efficacy of the designed controller.
