Nowadays, the resources considered unlimited in the past are no longer interminable at all, due to the difficult social and political contexts. Therefore, a significant waste reduction is needed, for economic reasons and so on. In the absence of a national efficiency strategy, each entity must carry out all actions with sustainability in mind. An important parameter through which such actions can be carried out is the consumption of electricity. More than that, as in the public domain the area of digitization of documents and data is at a low level, Realtime Devices Manager wants to combine both perspectives and offer an intelligent solution for the area of servers or laboratories within public institutions. Through a cost-effective implementation and by solving significant issues, efficiency parameters have been reached, Realtime Devices Manager being a suitable solution for the existing problems. © 2024 IEEE.

Nowadays, the common disease of the aging population is complicated disease, rather than suffering from a single disease and the aging population due to the gradual decline of physiological function is bound to cause inconvenience, memory loss and other conditions. At the same time, chronic diseases require long-term medication and the side effects of drugs may be reduced. This system is designed to provide intelligent reminders for patients with chronic diseases. Secondly, this system also designs AI recognition function for the elderly and people with poor vision. Based on this, the conditions of the aging population cannot guarantee that they can independently take a variety of drugs every day. If a large number of drugs cannot be taken in a correct way, it will damage health at the least or accelerate the deterioration of the disease even to the danger of life. In view of this phenomenon, an intelligent drug assistant is designed. This system uses the combination of AI and IoT technology to develop an intelligent assistant medication device. Equipped with multiple auxiliary functions such as real-time monitoring of medication time, synchronizing medication data, voice reminders and automatically generating health records, the device aims to help the elderly better manage their medication. This system takes into account the behavior characteristics of the elderly, and helps the elderly develop a good habit of taking medicine by adjusting the time and frequency of taking medicine. The overall appearance of this system is small, with relatively low production cost, simple and convenient operation steps and other characteristics, according to the experiment proved that it can improve the problem of the aging population taking medicine to a certain extent, with certain market potential.

An embedded system is a system consisting of software code, controller hardware, and I/O (Input/Output) hardware that performs a specific task. Developing an embedded system presents several challenges. First, the development often involves configuring hardware that requires domain-specific knowledge. Second, the library for the hardware may have API usage patterns that must be followed. To overcome such challenges, we propose a framework called arduinoProg towards the automatic generation of arduino applications. arduinoProg takes a natural language query as input and outputs the configuration and API usage pattern for the hardware described in the query. Motivated by our findings on the characteristics of real-world queries posted in the official arduino forum, we formulate arduinoProg as three components, i.e., Library Retriever, Configuration Classifier, and Pattern Generator. First, Library Retriever preprocesses the input query and retrieves a set of relevant libraries using either lexical matching or vector-based similarity. Second, given Library Retriever's output, Configuration Classifier infers the hardware configuration by classifying the method definitions found in the library's implementation files into a hardware configuration class. Third, Pattern Generator also takes Library Retriever's output as input and leverages a sequence-to-sequence model to generate the API usage pattern. Having instantiated each component of arduinoProg with various machine learning models, we have evaluated arduinoProg on real-world queries. Library Retriever achieves a Precision@K range of 44.0%-97.1%;Configuration Classifier achieves an Area under the Receiver Operating Characteristics curve (AUC) of 0.79-0.95;Pattern Generator yields a Normalized Discounted Cumulative Gain (NDCG)@K of 0.45-0.73. Such results indicate that arduinoProg can generate practical and useful hardware configurations and API usage patterns to guide developers in writing arduino code.

In the industrial sector, Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology has been extensively utilized and integrated into educational curricula and teaching methodologies to enhance educational effectiveness and respond to the needs of entrepreneurs. However, due to its costliness, more learning tools and technology are needed to ensure AI education. The arduino board offers a user-friendly and cost-effective solution that enables the study of complex applications involving the integration of artificial intelligence with arduino programming. This study presents a review process to investigate trends of using arduino to enhance AI study. This study highlights the increasing complexity of using arduino boards with artificial intelligence algorithms. Specifically, it explores their applications in domains such as multiple linear regression (MLR), particle swarm optimization (PSO), adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference systems (ANFIS), and Node-RED. The findings of this study will serve as a valuable reference for scholars interested in this domain and as a guide for AI education in the future.

The use of Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) to process Electroencephalograph (EEG) signals has been introduced in recent years with great success in the field of Brain-Computer Interfaces (BCI). Nevertheless, in order to advance towards a CNN-based BCI prototype, they must be efficiently mapped into low-power and low-cost hardware, enabling a real-time, portable and Internet-independent brain-computer communication. This work presents the implementation of an EEGNet-based model into an ARM Cortex M4F microcontroller, available on the arduino Nano 33 Sense. Starting from models trained over the Physionet Motor Movement/Imagery dataset, 8-bit integer post-training quantization has been considered to reduce computing complexity, with a mean downgrade of 2.64 +/- 0.77% in accuracy. Moreover, their computational impact and memory footprint have been characterized by measuring the associated operations and Random-Access Memory (RAM) usage. Finally, a selected model has been implemented on the ARM Cortex M4F, with a latency of 137 ms and an energy per inference of 2.55 mJ, a 40% lower than other EEGNet implementation on the same microcontroller.

The acquisition of experimental equipment has become a problem, due to its high costs. To partially solve this problem, the scientific community has used the arduino data acquisition board (DAB). This board has a low-cost and allows the automation of equipment in a simple and practical way. However, using only the arduino board is no longer enough, it is now necessary to combine it with the implementation of an user-friendly interface. Through this combination, it is possible to develop sophisticated laboratory equipment. The aim of this work is to describe step by step and in a simple way the development and implementation of a low-cost experimental equipment based on arduino for use in higher education. Also, this work tries to encourage users to develop their own laboratory equipment, and solve their equipment needs. The novelty of this work pretends to be that any user without a deep knowledge of electronics and programming can easily assemble their own lab equipment, avoiding high equipment fees. In this work, three simple examples are shown, and any teacher, researcher, or student can easily reproduce them. With the combination of three previous examples, it is possible to develop sophisticated laboratory equipment, for example a Ph Meter with temperature sensor and stirring setup. The commercial cost of this lab equipment is approximately 600 USD, but with this homemade setup, the total cost drops to 75 USD.

Radar technology has been a cornerstone of numerous applications, from aviation to meteorology, offering invaluable capabilities for object detection and tracking. Traditional radar systems, while powerful, often come with significant costs and complexities, limiting their accessibility in various fields. In response to these limitations, this research endeavors to design and implement a radar system using arduino microcontrollers and ultrasonic sensors. This innovative approach leverages the flexibility and affordability of the arduino platform and the distance measurement precision of ultrasonic sensors to create a radar-like system. The research encompasses the development of the hardware, data acquisition, signal processing, and real-time visualization, providing an accessible and cost-effective alternative for radar-based applications. The study explores the integration of arduino technology and ultrasonic sensors into radar systems, with a focus on simplicity, affordability, and practicality. By bridging the gap between traditional radar systems and DIY electronics, this research aims to democratize radar technology and open doors for applications in robotics, smart cities, industrial automation, and education. The step response of first-order systems is vital in control systems and electronics. Understanding this behaviour is key but often challenging. This article uses arduino with PWM to teach the step response in RC circuits, since arduino enables real-time data acquisition and visualisation, connecting theory to practice. The research seeks to illustrate the step response of an RC circuit using arduino, deepen knowledge of first-order systems, and offer a technique for collecting experimental data. All of this, since combining practical experiments with theoretical concepts boosts student involvement and understanding of dynamic systems. The work includes theoretical foundations, experimental procedures, and a brief discussion on the educational value of these activities.

Pollution of the air is a major problem all around the globe now-a-days. Human activities and natural processes are both potential causes of air pollution. Particles and gases in the atmosphere that is harmful to human health. It affects the majority of big cities in both developing and developed countries. That's why it's so important to have a system for constant monitoring of pollution and air quality. Using a simple, low-cost sensor and an arduino microcontroller, we were able to create an air pollution detector. The detector's benefits are its dependability, stability, quick reaction recovery, and longevity. This hardware is suitable for portable measurement and understandable data collecting;it is inexpensive, user-friendly, low-cost, and requires minimal power. It features processing software that can precisely analyze the data it has acquired. Easy air quality monitoring is made possible by straightforward equipment with practical applications in industry. This setup makes use of a number of different parts, including an arduino Uno and a MQ135 gas sensor. When compared to its competitors, arduino offers superior speed and compatibility. The MQ135 gas detection device is able to properly measure the amount of dangerous gases in the atmosphere and display the results in Parts Per Million (PPM). © 2023 IEEE.
