In the paper, the background radiation monitoring system has been developed. It has been built on the arduino Uno microcontroller board, Geiger-Mueller counters, alphanumeric LCD module and high-voltage power supply module for counters. The system measures power of the equivalent radiation dose and accumulated dose and outputs the information via the serial port to PC, and also sends warning signals when the equivalent dose rate is exceeded.

A Standalone Real-Time Gait Phase Detection Using Fuzzy-Logic Implementation in arduino Nano

This paper presents a real-time standalone computing system's design and development using an arduino Nano controller for human gait phase detection. It acquires the lower limb segment angles using 3-inertial measurement units and foot insole-based force data using 2-force sensitive resistor sensors for each leg. arduino ide-based algorithms are designed to get thigh, shank, and foot angles using the I2C protocol. The force information is achieved using an insole that gathers data from the heel and toe regions. A fuzzy logic-based algorithm is developed in the arduino ide for the detection of 7-gait phases. MATLAB's neuro-fuzzy designer toolbox is utilized to obtain a rule base for these gait phases. The results showed that the present system gives a prediction accuracy of 89.65 (± 3)% that is good enough, along with a 20 ms prediction time to make it real-time gait phase detection. This study finds the application of a fuzzy-logic algorithm for real-time control of the ankle–foot prosthesis in an open space using a standalone system with an amputee. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd 2021.

Data fusion has an important role in today's life, especially in the smart world where devices are becoming smarter. Smart devices require reliable and different types of sensory data, fusing them to obtain better information regarding their objectives. Different types of sensors are often fused to acquire information which cannot be acquired by a single sensor alone. Sensor fusion is particularly applicable for mobile robots for object detection and navigation. The sensor fusion techniques that have been developed so far for detecting an obstacle are costly and complex. So a new technique is proposed which can detect an obstacle, judge its distance using infrared and ultrasonic sensor with the help of an FPGA. Here we propose a data fusion technique in which central limit theorem is used as fusion algorithm. The hardware implementation has been done on Papilio One board and arduino ide has used for sensor interfacing programming. The proposed technique aims to make cost effective, faster and less complex system for sensor fusion.

Pressure ulcers, also known as bedsores, are severe complications in patients who have a low level of sensation with limited mobility such as people with quadriplegia, broken limbs, coma, high obesity, and elderly. Bedsores are critical;they can reach bones and muscles which make them hard to recover. The aim of this paper is to provide a solution that reduces the possibility of developing bedsores for long-term patients. Internet of Things (IoT) has a crucial role in healthcare monitoring applications due to its ability to provide a continuous monitoring system, which helps making efficient decisions for patients in real-time that reduce errors, wasted time, and costs. The proposed system is IoT based system, which monitors the patient's conditions depending on body temperature, skin humidity, and body immobility duration, which are the main causes of bedsores occurrence. The system also provides an action towards the patients' measured signs by releasing gentle air with suitable temperature through vents from the mattress of the patient's bed. Moreover, the system has a mobile application to maintain the ability to monitor the patients by the concerned parties remotely.

The article presents a new approach for the design of an Ultra-wideband (UWB) indoor positioning system (IPS) for position control of a mecanum driven robotic platform. The IPS was constructed using Decawave MDEK1001 development kit. The robotic platform, run by an ATmega2560 microcontroller, achieved an X-Y location accuracy of 7 cm. HC-12 Bluetooth modules were utilized for wireless communication to the microcontroller. A software integration of Tera Term, MATLAB, and arduino ide was built to expand the range of hardware and software available to the system. The integration also provides a plug-and-play installation of commercially available UWB modules, allowing for processing and other filtering to occur on MATLAB. Further, the system allows for integration of IoT, multi-robot systems, and different UWB modules in a centralized MATLAB hub.

arduino development boards are often used in high school education environments as a education platform to teach basics of computer science. This often requires elaborate manual installation of supporting software tools, such as drivers, integrated programming environments and compilers. This paper describes architecture designed for remote programming of arduino boards utilizing Raspberry Pi devices as a bridge between cloud platform for arduino development and the arduino development boards. It also describes web interface created for the platform built with this architecture that allows block-based creation of basic arduino applications utilizing Blockly library.

A supermarket is a place with different sorts of products which comes under a same roof, by this shopping becomes easy but there are some issues with this type of shopping method that is traditionally every person in the supermarket purchases the product by collecting them all in a trolley. Upon purchase, the billing process takes quite some time and also waiting in long queue will be even worse on festive season and weekends. To overcome these problems, we could incorporate the advancing technology by introducing a smart shopping cart, this method benefits the buyers as well as the shop owners. Each cart has an inbuilt system of a RFID reader to scan the products instead of barcode, an LCD module for displaying product details and cost of total products purchased by the customers. A webpage for generation of a digital copy of the bill has been created by using ESP8266 Wi-Fi module and a power supply for stepping down the voltage and the system to can be implemented by using the arduino ide, it is a software tool which we have used for programming. © 2023 IEEE.

At present days most accidents happening caused by drunken driving and Drowsiness. These accidents are increasing deaths and economic losses. The cause of drowsiness is continuous driving for long distances and stress levels in working places is reduced in sleeping then it leads to sleep driving. To control these types of accidents, we are implementing this model, in this model blink sensors and M Q3 alcohol sensors are used. The blink and alcohol sensors output will be sent to arduino, and the vehicle will be controlled using arduino output. Based on the drowsiness and the alcohol level of the driver. The sensor will sense the level of drowsy time of sleep and the alcohol sensor defects the consumption of alcohol from the driver if it exceeds the specific value, turn ON buzzer and lock the automobile. Then we reduce the maximum accidents by drunken driving and drowsiness. © 2022 IEEE.

Eyes are the most essential part of the human body. They help us to see the world in a beautiful and colorful manner. Eyes allow a human being to observe and sense the things around and lacking that may lead to many problems and difficulties. The traditional methods for blind people are walking with a dog, walking with the help of guardians, using a fordable stick and so on. According to WHO, about 39 million people are estimated as blind in the whole world. They suffer with a lot of hardships and difficulties. Hence, the ‘third eye for blind’ is an innovation which helps the blind person to move with speed and comfort. This can be done using ultrasonic wave sensors, moisture sensor, buzzer, light sensors, GPS and GSM modules that will help in navigation. Third eye for blind will be a holding device that will help the visually impaired people to move by themselves in any environment. It reduces the work of caretakers of the blind person. It provides the opportunity to navigate the blind person if lost, as the position will be notified with the help of GSM. The development of an obstacle-avoiding robot is a crucial step toward the development of autonomous or unmanned vehicles. These vehicles are used in situations that do not allow for human interaction, such as transportation, surveillance, and rescue. This future strategy will advance humanity’s understanding of unmanned vehicles significantly. This article implements an obstacle-avoiding robot that can detect objects in front of it using an ultrasonic sensor and a microcontroller. The ultrasonic sensor is used in this prototype, and the microcontroller configures the arduino Uno board to measure distances using the arduino ide software. It also encompasses a wireless camera for live video transmission, which can be accessed via an IP address by a variety of terminals including laptops, smart phones tablets, and personal computers. This is accomplished by programming the ESP 32 camera module, which also functions as a Wi-Fi Internet and Bluetooth module. The live streaming camera is an ESP 32 CAMERA module that was programmed with arduino ide software and a CP2102 USB-TTL converter. © 2024, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.
