Model-based simulation is a sufficient and cost-effective approach for studying and analyzing the maneuverability of ships involving the maneuvers prediction. One important foundation for ensuring its implementation is the determination of the ship dynamic model with relatively low complexity and high accuracy. This study aims at contributing to this research point from two aspects: one is the simplification of dynamic model of ships through 6 degrees of freedom (DOF) nonlinear and complex ship dynamic model based on reasonable assumptions;the other one is to identify parameters of the simplified model using support vector machines (SVM) and maneuvering data. The artificial bee colony algorithm (ABC) is used to remedy the problem of SVM about selecting optimal parameter values. For the numerical simulation study, a container ship with well-proven dynamic model is applied to generate clean and polluted maneuvering data. Comparison with the first order linear Nomoto model indicates that the simplified steering model can capture more complicated motions and shows better performance. The optimized SVM by ABC is a convenient and effective alternative for identification of ship dynamic models. It is noticeable that the higher level of measurement noise is, the worse influence on identification results is. But in some degree, the filter approach can mitigate the negative influence and in turn improve the identification results.

In this paper, we suggest a game-theoretic approach to alleviate the free-rider problem. In this approach, we model the free-rider problem as a constrained single objective optimization problem. We formally prove that in our proposed model, the free-rider problem can be solved completely. Moreover, we validate our proposed model using a meta heuristic algorithm - artificial bee colony (ABC) algorithm. To ensure the constraint is satisfied, we perform the experimental study using ABC algorithm. The experimental results are consistent with those obtained theoretically.

The Internet provides an excellent extent of useful information that is sometimes arranged for its users, that makes it difficult to extract relevant information from various sources. So that, this paper proposes a hybrid artificial bee colony and Improved K-means bunch algorithmic program provides all types data of data repository and has been terribly successful in dispersive information to users. For the encoded information units to be machine method intelligent, that is crucial for several applications like deep internet information assortment and net comparison searching, they have to be extracted out and allot substantive labels. This paper deals with the automated annotation of Search result records from the multiple internet databases. Search result presents associate automatic annotation approach that initial aligns the info units on a result page into completely different teams specified the info within the same cluster have a similar linguistics. Then for every cluster annotate it from completely different aspects and mixture the various annotations to predict a final annotation label for it. Finally wrapper is mechanically generated by the automated tag matching weight technique.

As the technologies overture, the communication media is upcoming with the need for wired and wireless networking. The wireless technology and portable computing devices enhances the future for wireless mobile networking. Mobile ad hoc network (MANET) is one of the emerging technologies with many applications. MANET is the network with specific characteristics like dynamic topology, wireless medium, and distributed co-operation. However, the nature of MANET makes it vulnerable to many challenges and security issues. In this paper, we give a brief idea about MANET with its challenges, application and overview of routing protocols. We have also proposed an idea of enhancing olsr by a clustering technique in order to reduce the network overhead and increase the packet delivery ratio which is effective in Vehicular ad hoc Network (VANET).

Popular algorithms of global optimization are reviewed. Comparison of two hybrid algorithms is presented. In particular, consecutive and conveyor hybridization of artificial bee colony (ABC) and Gravitational Search algorithm (GSA)is introduced. The analysis of two algorithms work productivity based on spherical function, Rosenbrak, Girvonk, Rastrigin, Shevfel functions is performed. Efficiency of algorithm with conveyor hybridization compared to algorithm with consecutive hybridization is set for determined parameters.

In recent years, logistics industry has received extensive attention with the development of online shopping. Logistics distribution is the core of logistics industry. Scientifically rational logistics distribution can save delivery cost and improve customer satisfaction. Therefore, it is very important to study the two echelon vehicle routing problem (2E-VRP) in logistics distribution. artificial bee colony algorithm has strong global optimization ability and the performance of genetic algorithm depends on the choice of the initial solution. Based on large-scale neighbour search, this paper proposes ABCGA algorithm. ABCGA algorithm makes use of artificial bee colony algorithm for the first time to solve the 2E-VRP problem. Then, genetic algorithm is used to optimize the original optimal solution. ABCGA algorithm has many advantages such as stable effect, high efficiency and so on. This paper experiments on 93 test problems from sett, set3, and set4 data sets. Compared with ALNS algorithm, GRASP+VND and ABC algorithm, the experimental results show that ABCGA has better performance on the test problems with less customers.

Foldable container in empty container repositioning in intermodal transportation network of Belt and Road Initiative: strengths and limitations

In 2013, the concept of the Silk Road Economic Belt and the 21st-Century Maritime Silk Road (Belt and Road)' was initiated by the Chinese government, which involves Asian, European and African continents and their adjacent seas. Logistics plays a core role in such a large framework of economy and trade. In recent years, China, European Union, and Southeast Asia pay much attention to the design and development of the intermodal transportation network towards both economic and environmental efficiency. In this paper, we propose an empty container repositioning model in the intermodal transportation network of Belt and Road (B&R) Initiative by considering both standard and foldable containers. In this model, empty containers are repositioned from the inland of the original area, such as China, to other areas of B&R Initiative related countries and regions, such as European Union and Southeast Asia. We develop a mixed integer linear programming model to determine the optimal repositioning of empty containers via the intermodal transportation network. An artificial bee colony algorithm is developed to solve large size problems in practice and numerical experiments are conducted to show the efficiency of our proposed algorithm. We provide managerial insights regarding the impact on the network performance of foldable containers transportation.

Parameter identification techniques assorted from the system identification technology is a sufficient and commonly used approach for estimating the parameters of ship dynamic models. It is not tough to find an identification method to identify the parameters of linear or nonlinear ship dynamic models, but how to select a suitable parameter identification approach with high accuracy and low complexity for special cases is necessary to be studied. This contribution aims at determining a relatively suitable parameter identification method for estimation ship response models via selecting and comparing one intelligent method with the classic least squares method(LS) from a methodological point of view. Support vector machines(SVM) as an intelligent method is chosen because it is a kind of batch identification technique requiring no initial estimation of identified parameters. For well-confirming parameters in SVM, the artificial bee colony(ABC) algorithm instead of the empirical method is used to optimize the parameters in SVM. With the measurement zigzag test data from a scaled-model ship as training and verification samples, the maneuvering indices of ship response models are respectively identified using LS and SVM, and the verification of the identified models are sufficiently proceeded through comparing the prediction and measurement results. It is shown that the two different categories of ship response models are analytically and numerically consistent with each other. Comparison between the measured and predicted maneuvers demonstrates that SVM optimized by ABC algorithm is also an effective parameter identification technique.

In this paper, we solve the Set Covering Problem with a meta-optimization approach. One of the most popular models among facility location models is the Set Covering Problem. The meta-level metaheuristic operates on solutions representing the parameters of other metaheuristic. This approach is applied to an artificial bee colony metaheuristic that solves the non-unicost set covering. The artificial bee colony algorithm is a recent swarm metaheuristic technique based on the intelligent foraging behavior of honey bees. This metaheuristic owns a parameter set with a great influence on the effectiveness of the search. These parameters are fine-tuned by a Genetic algorithm, which trains the artificial bee colony metaheuristic by using a portfolio of set covering problems. The experimental results show the effectiveness of our approach which produces very near optimal scores when solving set covering instances from the OR-Library.
