Purpose The purpose of this paper is to study a method to optimize the arrangement of the devices on a smart assembly workbench, which help to reduce fatigue and improve efficiency for the worker. Design/methodology/approach The optimization priority is studied based on the users' decisions, a mathematical model of the layout optimization is established from ergonomic perspective and an improved algorithm is adopted to solve the built the mathematical model. Findings Ergonomic software Jack is chosen to simulate the four layout schemes obtained. Through comparative analysis of the simulation results, it is proven that the optimal solution can be obtained using the improved algorithm. Originality/value The mathematical model built on observation comfort, operation comfort and device accessibility, as well as the improved algorithm in this paper, has some reference values for the layout design of smart assembly workbench.

Smart transportation has a significantly impact on city management and city planning, which has received extensive attentions from academic and industrial communities. Different from omni-directional sensing system, as a directional sensing system, the multimedia-directional sensor network holds the special coverage scheme, which is usually used for smart cities, smart transportation, and harsh environment surveillance, for instance, nuclear-pollution regions where are inhospitable for people. This paper advances Virtual Stream artificialfish-swarm based Coverage-Enhancing algorithm (VSAFCEA) as a coverage-enhancing means in multimedia directional sensor networks. Firstly, a concept of virtual streams, based on traditional artificial fish-swarm algorithm, is proposed. Then, the traditional behaviors of fishes in artificial fish-swarm algorithm are modified and expanded with several new behaviors. Finally, the presented VSAFCEA is adopted for coverage-enhancing issue in the situation of directional sensor networks with rotational direction-adjustable model. With a sequence of steps of artificialfishes in virtual stream, the presented VSAFCEA can figure out the approximation to the highest area coverage rate. Based on comparison of these simulation results (results of presented VSAFCEA and that of other typical coverage-enhancing ways in directional sensor networks), the conclusion can be drawn that VSAFCEA could attain higher area coverage rate of directional sensor networks with fewer iterative computing times.

Warpage is the most common quality defect in parts produced by vacuum casting (VC). In this paper, the VC process and mold filling mechanism are analyzed, and a mathematical model of the filling process is constructed, incorporating fluid dynamical relationships. The filling process is simulated using a numerical simulation algorithm. A warpage optimization strategy combining response surface methodology (RSM) with the artificial fish-swarm algorithm (AFSA) is then proposed, in which the main function of the RSM is to fit the relationship between process parameters and warpage, while that of the ASFA is to obtain the optimized process parameters. Finally, the implementation of the optimization strategy is presented in detail, together with a specific example, and simulations and a real experiment are carried out. The experimental results verify the accuracy of the model and the reliability of the algorithm. In conclusion, the optimization method can reduce the warpage of VC parts and improve product quality, providing a reliable new low-cost method for optimizing the process parameters in VC technology.

Water is a fundamental natural resource while agriculture water guarantees the grain output, which shows that the utilization and management of water resource have a significant practical meaning. Regional agricultural water resource system features with unpredictable, self-organization, and non-linear which lays a certain difficulty on the evaluation of regional agriculture water resource resilience. The current research on water resource resilience remains to focus on qualitative analysis and the quantitative analysis is still in the primary stage, thus, according to the above issues, projection pursuit classification model is brought forward. With the help of artificial fish-swarm algorithm (AFSA), it optimizes the projection index function, seeks for the optimal projection direction, and improves AFSA with the application of self-adaptive artificialfish step and crowding factor. Taking Hongxinglong Administration of Heilongjiang as the research base and on the basis of improving AFSA, it established the evaluation of projection pursuit classification model to agriculture water resource system resilience besides the proceeding analysis of projection pursuit classification model on accelerating genetic algorithm. The research shows that the water resource resilience of Hongxinglong is the best than Raohe Farm, and the last 597 Farm. And the further analysis shows that the key driving factors influencing agricultural water resource resilience are precipitation and agriculture water consumption. The research result reveals the restoring situation of the local water resource system, providing foundation for agriculture water resource management.

Thirdly, based on sweden slice method, formula of the safety coefficient of the slope's stability can be as objective function, through artificial fish-swarm algorithm, slip plane can be established. Finally, through analyzing the safety coefficient of the slope's stability and initial point in each time, the structure reliability of slope stability and failure probability can be got. Bandwidth-delay-constrained multicast routing problem is an NP-complete problem. In this paper, we propose a QoS multicast routing algorithm based on artificialfishswarm optimization. Meeting with the Bandwidth-delay-constrained, the proposed algorithm can search the least-cost multicast routing tree quickly. For solving the reactive power optimization problems, the ant colony algorithm in combination with artificialfish-swarm and differential evolution algorithms (FDEACO) was presented. Inspired by feeding, clustering and rear-end behaviors of artificial fish-swarm algorithms, on the basic of the ant colony algorithm, I applied the rear-end behavior of the artificial fish-swarm algorithm to modify the solution of a feasible region searched by ant colony. The velocity of convergence to the optimal solution is accelerated. In the mechanism of pheromone update, the divergence of the differential evolution algorithm was introduced. A random disturbance is added, and the possibility of getting into local optimum is reduced. By reactive power optimization of IEEE 30-bus standard testing systems, and compared with other algorithms, analyzing the results show that the proposed algorithm is efficient and possesses a strong ability of global optimal searching.
