This paper shows results of simulations of single point and complex target signatures of along track interferometric SAR radar. The SAR images of the moving target with motion in along track direction show the typical smearing and displacement of the target signature in case of squint-looking radar. The interferometric image shows the rainbow-like signature for moving target. The behaviors of targets signatures in a good agreement with the obtained experimental results.

A signal may not be detected and identified due to the presence of serious noise. Coherent integration is an important approach for focusing the energy of the signal in pulse-Doppler radar. For moving targets, the problem of migration through range cells (MTRC) will degrade the coherent integration result. This paper presents a new coherent integration method for multi-channel radar system to focus near field moving targets. The envelope correction coupled with backprojection in spatial and fast-time domain is performed, followed with coherent integration in slow-time domain. The simulated results demonstrate the effectiveness of the method in target detection.

Near range microwave imaging systems have broad application prospects in the field of concealed weapon detection, biomedical imaging, nondestructive testing, etc. In this paper, the techniques of MIMO and sparse line array are applied to near range microwave imaging, which can greatly reduce the complexity of imaging systems. In detail, the paper establishes two-dimensional near range MIMO imaging geometry and corresponding echo model, where the imaging geometry is formed by arranging sparse antenna array in azimuth direction and transmitting broadband signals in range direction;then, by analyzing the relationship between MIMO and convolution principle, the paper develops a method of arranging sparse line array which can be equivalent to a full array;and the paper deduces the backprojection algorithm applied to near ranging MIMO imaging geometry;finally, the imaging geometry and corresponding imaging algorithm proposed in this paper are investigated and verified by means of theoretical analysis and numerical simulations.

While many synthetic aperture radar (SAR) image formation techniques exist, two of the most intuitive methods for implementation by SAR novices are the matched filter and backprojection algorithms. The matched filter and (non-optimized) backprojection algorithms are undeniably computationally complex. However, the backprojection algorithm may be successfully employed for many SAR research endeavors not involving considerably large data sets and not requiring time-critical image formation. Execution of both image reconstruction algorithms in MATLAB is explicitly addressed. In particular, a manipulation of the backprojection imaging equations is supplied to show how common MATLAB functions, ifft and interp1, may be used for straight-forward SAR image formation. In addition, limits for scene size and pixel spacing are derived to aid in the selection of an appropriate imaging grid to avoid aliasing. Example SAR images generated though use of the backprojection algorithm are provided given four publicly available SAR datasets. Finally, MATLAB code for SAR image reconstruction using the matched filter and backprojection algorithms is provided.

In the present work, a new multilevel backprojection procedure for both parallel and fan beam geometries based on 1D MRA wavelet is derived and analyzed. It is based on the characterization property of orthonormal wavelets via their autocorrelation functions. The algorithm does not involve any wavelet-based decomposition in the normal sense, yet it uses a multiresolution formula as a crucial element in a CBP type procedure valid for both the parallel and complex fan beam geometries. The algorithm can be used for wavelet based image analysis.
