To solve the problem that image enhancement of finger vein patterns based on traditional filtering methods fails to intuitively highlight the feature of edge protection, the experimental study model based on the guided filter is proposed. Through adding the comparison experiment between guided filter and bilateral filter, and doing the binary processing to the finger vein image after the process of the guided filtering and bilateral filtering, it can be found that some noises exist around the vein texture. In order to reduce or eliminate the interference, a traditional average filtering method is applied for denoising, which not only highlights the vein texture details but eliminates the interference in the post-processing, and at the same time, adjusting the filter parameters will cause a significant impact on the enhancement of finger vein image. A comparison experiment in false recognition rate between two filtering algorithms is conducted, and visual and numerical evaluations are performed on finger vein image after the process of enhancement and binarization;the result indicates that the guided filter has better edge protection feature and lower false recognition rate than the bilateral filter.

As the advantages of high forming accuracy, fast material removal efficiency and slight machining defects, the ultra-precision grinding using micro-powder diamond wheel has been widely applied to the processing of large aperture and complex surface optical elements. Due to the brittleness and hardness of optical materials, micro-powder diamond wheel is easy to wear during grinding process, which affects the surface roughness and depth of sub-surface damage layer of components. In order to accurately characterize the wear state of diamond wheel in the grinding process, a method based on in-situ micro-observation of grinding wheel and abrasive particle image contour recognition was proposed to detect the diamond wheel. First, based on the grinding experiments, the surface micromorphology of grinding wheel was acquired by in-situ microscopic observation, and the wear forms of the grinding wheel were analyzed. Then the average distribution density of wear particles and average wear area were taken as the evaluation parameters of the wear state of the wheel. After outstanding the edge profile of abrasive particles by Laplacian enhancement operator and binary processing, the edge profiles of wear particles were extracted out. And by calculating the number and projection area of each wear abrasive particles, the average distribution density of wear particles and the average wear area in the measured region on the surface of grinding wheel were obtained. At the end, the wear state of resin bonded diamond grinding wheel used for grinding fused silica optics was tested. The experimental results showed that the diamond wheel states of initial wear stage and steady wear stage were accurately identified by the parameters of distribution density of wear abrasive particles and average wear area.

In this paper, a binary complementary metal oxide semiconductor (CMOS) image sensor with a gate/body-tied (GBT) metal oxide semiconductor field effect transistor (MOSFET)-type photodetector is presented. The sensitivity of the GBT MOSFET-type photodetector, which was fabricated using the standard CMOS 0.35-mu m process, is higher than the sensitivity of the p-n junction photodiode, because the output signal of the photodetector is amplified by the MOSFET. A binary image sensor becomes more efficient when using this photodetector. Lower power consumptions and higher speeds of operation are possible, compared to the conventional image sensors using multi-bit analog to digital converters (ADCs). The frame rate of the proposed image sensor is over 2000 frames per second, which is higher than those of the conventional CMOS image sensors. The output signal of an active pixel sensor is applied to a comparator and compared with a reference level. The 1-bit output data of the binary process is determined by this level. To obtain a video signal, the 1-bit output data is stored in the memory and is read out by horizontal scanning. The proposed chip is composed of a GBT pixel array (144 x 100), binary-process circuit, vertical scanner, horizontal scanner, and readout circuit. The operation mode can be selected from between binary mode and multi-bit mode.

In this paper, a complementary metal oxide semiconductor (CMOS) binary image sensor based on a gate/body-tied (GBT) MOSFET-type photodetector is proposed. The proposed CMOS binary image sensor was simulated and measured using a standard CMOS 0.18-mu m process. The GBT MOSFET-type photodetector is composed of a floating gate (n+-polysilicon) tied to the body (n-well) of the p-type MOSFET. The size of the active pixel sensor (APS) using GBT photodetector is smaller than that of APS using the photodiode. This means that the resolution of the image can be increased. The high-gain GBT photodetector has a higher photosensitivity compared to the p-n junction photodiode that is used in a conventional APS. Because GBT has a high sensitivity, fast operation of the binary processing is possible. A CMOS image sensor with the binary processing can be designed with simple circuits composed of a comparator and a D-flip-flop while a complex analog to digital converter (ADC) is not required. In addition, the binary image sensor has low power consumption and high speed operation with the ability to switch back and forth between a binary mode and an analog mode.

However, manual picking method enhances the fruit farmer's financial costs due to the worker pay raises consistently, and the application of robot in agriculture industry is demanding. Therefore, the intelligent mobile robot picker is launched on the basis of machine visual technology, integrating the mobile carrier, robot arm, picker, traverse mechanism and intelligent module, which achieves the travel route programming of the robot picker, auto-judging the ripe fruit as well as positioning and recognition functions by binocular stereoscopic visual technology.

A standard sample was detected without destruction in this way using individual channel device to realize multi-channels phased control. According to the corresponding the relationship between the arriving time of echo and location of focus, A scan was processed B-mode imaging using signal feature. An approach which the image is binary processed based on threshold is proposed to improve image resolution. MATLAB simulated result shows that the approach can improve image lateral resolution and the accuracy of defect orientation.
