A compound chaos encryption algorithm for digital images is designed in this paper. Lorenz Chaotic system and Logistics map are linked in cascade to generate chaos sequences. Then the permutation matrix is constructed to encrypt the digital image. The new algorithm can expand the key space and improve anti-aggressive ability. Matlab7.0 is used for simulation testing of the image encryption. Experimental results show that the algorithm is feasible and it can satisfy the security requirement for image transmission and storage. The compound chaos algorithm can be also used for color digital image encryption.

The problem of resources under the environment of cloud computing has always been the focus of research. In this paper;the Artificial Firefly algorithm is studied, on the basis of which the chaos algorithm is introduced to improve the algorithm with regard to the problem of the subsequent search and optimization precision deficiency cause by the lack of initialization of firefly position in the firefly algorithm. Meanwhile, the updating of luciferin is improved. The improved algorithm is enhanced greatly in accuracy and performance. Through the simulation platform Cloudsim, it is found that under the cloud computing model, the algorithm presented in this paper can effectively reduce the average time spent by subtasks in processing request tasks, and thus improve the efficiency of task processing and achieve a rational allocation of resources.

The allocation of resources in cloud computing has always been the focus of research, and as for how to improve the implementation speed, response time and utilization rate of system, a resource allocation scheduling optimization method in cloud computing based on improved double bee colony algorithm is proposed in this paper To introduce difference algorithm in artificial ant colony and improve its double bee colony can avoid the bee colony to fall into local optimum, while by introducing chaos algorithm, the convergence speed and precision of the optimal solution in the improved algorithm can be accelerated and the best resources in clouding computing can be found quickly to a certain extent. The simulation experiments show that the algorithm in this paper has improved the algorithm performance efficiently, which not only optimizes the resource allocation ability in cloud computing system, but also improves the resource utilization rate in cloud computing.

Over the past decade, several conventional optimization techniques had been developed for the optimization of complex water resources system. To overcome some of the drawbacks of conventional techniques, soft computing techniques were developed based on the principles of natural evolution. The major difference between the conventional optimization techniques and soft computing is that in the former case, the optimal solution is derived where as in the soft computing techniques, it is searched from a randomly generated population of possible solutions. The results of the evolutionary algorithm mainly depend on the randomly generated initial population that is arrived based on the probabilistic theory. Recent research findings proved that most of the water resources variables exhibit chaotic behavior, which is a projection depends upon the initial condition. In the present study, the chaos algorithm is coupled with evolutionary optimization algorithms such as genetic algorithm (GA) and differential evolution (DE) algorithm for generating the initial population and applied for maximizing the hydropower production from a reservoir. The results are then compared with conventional genetic algorithm and differential evolution algorithm. The results show that the chaotic differential evolution (CDE) algorithm performs better than other techniques in terms of total annual power production. This study also shows that the chaos algorithm has enriched the search of general optimization algorithm and thus may be used for optimizing complex non-linear water resources systems.

This paper proposes to optimally coordinate multiple Energy Storage System (ESS) based stabilizers and Power System Stabilizers (PSS) to increase damping in a multi-machine power system using an improved particle swarm optimization (IPSO). The IPSO has the strong and global searching ability and high efficiency by applying chaos initialization and simulated annealing (SA) algorithm in iteration. All eigenvalues, including both electromechanical and non-electromechanical modes, that meet the stability requirements in a wide range of operating conditions have been included in the objective function. In the 4-machine power system, the power system oscillations are effectively suppressed at different operating conditions by multiple ESS-based stabilizers and PSSs coordinated by IPSO, where the damping effect is better with the stabilizers designed by the IPSO than with the stabilizers tuned individually by the conventional compensation method. The results show the validity, robustness and superiority of the IPSO design.

A model of genetic programming with chaos algorithm is established to predict reference evapotranspiration. The model integrates the merits seeking for a global optimum solution by using chaos algorithm and the powerful capacity seeking for structure of model by using genetic programming. Many digital experiments are carried out and the correlative influences of factors on forecasting precision of model are studied. The application of the proposed model shows that the problem of some parameters will be screened out due to the other parameters has not been optimized, and it will be solved by using chaos algorithm. The model is effective and possessing high accuracy.

A mathematical model of roundness error was presented based on least square circles. An improved chaotic optimization algorithm was proposed by synthesizing the merit in SWIFT algorithm and chaos algorithm, and constrained optimization problems were transformed into unconstrained optimization to solve the model. Application example of processing data of measuring roundness error showed that the algorithm can achieve global optimization and can also be promoted to process data of other measuring method.
