3D modeling has been widely used in product design and is able to demonstrate design schemes intuitively. However, the process of developing a 3D model is complicated and users can hardly get involved. This paper proposed a user preference enabled 3D product evolutionary design method, which makes users capable of conducting the design processes. To do so, a series of 3D design schemes of a case product are created through parametric modeling. These parametric schemes are later coded as product chromosomes, of which the product form features are parametrized as product genes. To validate the proposed approach, simulation experiments are carried out involving various user groups with distinct preferences. According to the experiment results, the presented method allows the users without any design experiences to create their satisfied design schemes efficiently.

Focusing on a particular assembly line balancing problem of which the task time is a stochastic variable, a stochastic model is established, which aimed at maximization of assembly line balancing rate, completed probability and smoothness index. Simultaneously, an improved particle swarm optimization algorithm is proposed to solve this problem and a reasonable chromosome coding method which effectively prevent to generate infeasible solution is designed. For this reason, the algorithm convergence rate could be improved. At last, rear axle assembly line balancing designs of an automotive part company is taken to test validity of algorithm. Availability of the algorithm is verified by this example.

In this paper, in order to solve the problem of intelligent test paper, the author puts forward the improvement on chromosome coding, mutation algorithm and genetic operators of genetic algorithm after the study of genetic algorithm in theory and then proposes a multi-objective function optimization algorithm. By experimental simulation, it is concluded that, compared with the ordinary genetic algorithm, the average fitness value of the improved algorithm has increased, moreover the average number of iterations and the time consumption has reduced. What's more, when the improved algorithm is applied to the enterprise appraisal, it is proved by experiments that the advantage of low repetition rate to realize the intelligent test paper, the success rate of test paper is 100%, and the repetition rate is 0.9%. Thus the superiority of the improved algorithm is reflected very well.

The standard genetic algorithm has achieved great success in solving various optimization problems, but in practical applications, owing to the lack of the use of specific knowledge, the results are not satisfactory. Aiming at the practical application of robot path planning, an improved genetic algorithm applied to robot path planning is proposed by adding a prediction mechanism method to improve the chromosome coding method and fitness function in standard genetic algorithm. In the process of introducing map feature information into the initial population, the evolutionary efficiency of the algorithm is improved. And the dynamic parameter setting strategy is adopted, which makes the algorithm have the ability to escape the local minimum and improve the convergence of the algorithm. The numerical simulation results show that the improved algorithm has a significant improvement in the convergence value and the convergence rate.

Evolvable Hardware (EHW) refers to hardware that can change its architecture and behavior dynamically and autonomously by interacting with its environment The paper deals with an EHW completely developed on FPGA (Field Programmed Gate Array), with emphasis on the chromosome coding for hardware circuit and operation plat form of GA (Genetic Algorithm). A LUT-based VRC (virtual reconfigurable circuit) implementation of EHW is proposed in this article with the aim to find a general model fitter for evolving large scale circuit system. And a row-column dual decode architecture is adapt to speed up configuration. Moreover, its performance is illustrated with several concrete designs. All modules compilation and simulation are preformed by Altera Quartus II 10.0 and tested on DE2-115 Development Board. Finally, this article puts forward some questions which remain to be solved in the future design of EHW.
