The printing machinery parts have no uniform coding system, which caused many problems in the process of design and manufacture. Its classification and coding can not only improve management efficiency but also enable to accelerate product development. Now, this article is based on the study of existing parts classification system, the combination of chain structure, tree structure and hybrid structure, designing a decimal and ten code printing machinery parts classification, and coding system by using group technology. It is composed of Arabic numerals and letters, and it used T-slot bolts modeling process in order to illustrate classification and coding system for using of each code attributes and specific. The coding system has many advantages, such as simple structure, appropriate classification number links, and easy to remember. It is convenient for the unified management of printing machinery parts. Besides, it has a great role in the establishment of standardized parts library.

Building a networked part resource service platform is indeed considered essential to perform part resource reuse for complex product rapid design. In this paper, a complex product rapid design method is put forward based on general structural model and part resource reuse firstly. Then the overall architecture of the networked part resource service platform is present, and the key technologies of building web-based integrated part resource library are discussed, including the ontology meta-modeling of part resource library based on Ontology Web Language (OWL), the general classification pattern and flexible coding scheme for part resource, and the integration pattern for distributed heterogeneous part resource libraries. This service platform is applied via Windows Azure cloud platform, and its practicability is verified by an example for its application in the rapid design of the conventional beam pumping unit.

Based on Group Technology, a machine tool fixture library management system based on assembly knowledge description is put forward to maximize the reuse of fixture design knowledge and experience. According to GT classification results, fixture parts are divided into standard ones and non-standard ones. To support parametric assembly, a reuse library is used for parametric standard part design. For the non-standard parts, second development technology is used to realize their parametric design based on 3D model templates. Parametric assembly design is achieved based on assembly relation description. SolidWorks platform, VB programming language and Access database are used to develop the system that includes feature-based parameter-driven parts and assemblies for machine tool fixtures.

This paper developed a Portable Agricultural Product Holographic Market Information Collection Terminal(APIC) which collected the holographic market information of agro-products, to address the issues such as undeveloped agricultural information collecting method, nonstandard collection criteria,imperfect classification and coding, as well as the lack of information collection device etc.. Traditionally, all features in a classification and coding system are considered crisp. It has been recognized that more realistically some features should be fuzzy. This paper addresses issues involved in using the classification and coding approach for part family formation under a fuzzy environment. Methods for dealing with major issues such as part coding, computation of similarity between parts, and part family formation are proposed and discussed in detail. This paper describes several organizing principles useful in designing classification and coding (C&C) software in a relational database management system (DBMS) environment. Specifically these software design principles include the usage of Operational Constructors, Meta Models, Dynamic Binding, and Associative Naming to aid the design of full-purpose classification and coding software that can take as input a classification model of part families. These principles aid the software development effort in the following ways. Operational Constructors are universal programming concepts that allow the programmer to take advantage of the graphical user interface (GUI) features of the DBMS, such as list boxes, scroll boxes, subforms, and the like. Meta models represent the structure of the classification model. By implementing any classification model as a meta model, it can easily be instantiated into the software without the need for custom development. Dynamic Binding provides a general mechanism to query the database for part information by dynamically stitching user selections to a general structured query language (SQL) query. Finally, Associative Naming allows the user to retrieve data in a general manner through an innovative table-naming scheme and traversal process. A case study is presented showing application of these principles in support of a C&C system for a purchasing application used for procurement of raw materials, electronic components, and consumable supplies.
