MicroLearning (ML) was identified as one of the trends that can profile e-Learning now or in the near future. The author already conducted two experiments, where he tested newly created MicroLearning courses in comparison with "classic" e-Learning courses and got promising results [10]. The paper describes the creation of MicroLearning course "Creation of webpages". The author focuses on design of newly created course taking into account subject matter and concepts of creation of individual ML units using among others step by step instructional design. Mentioned is the way ML learning units for this course were created, also making use of video tutorials enriched with interactions and quizzes. LMS Moodle was chosen for ML course creation with added support for interactive multimedia. This was extended with interactive code exercises "Try, Alter and Execute" (TAE) with pre-prepared HTML codes. The course aims to support more active engagement of students as they try code alterations within LMS and offer benefits of numerous quizzes.

On the testing of fully integrated surface-subsurface hydrological models

Studies employing integrated surfacesubsurface hydrological models (ISSHMs) have utilized a variety of test cases to demonstrate model accuracy and consistency between codes. Here, we review the current state of ISSHM testing and evaluate the most popular ISSHM test cases by comparing the hydrodynamic processes simulated in each case to the processes found in well-characterized, real-world catchments and by comparing their general attributes to those of successful benchmark problems from other fields of hydrogeology. The review reveals that (1) ISSHM testing and intercode comparison have not adopted specific test cases consistently;(2) despite the wide range of ISSHM metrics available for model testing, only two model performance diagnostics are typically adopted: the catchment outflow hydrograph and the catchment water balance;(3) in intercode comparisons, model performance is usually judged by evaluating only one performance diagnostic: the catchment outflow hydrograph;and (4) ISSHM test cases evaluate a small number of hydrodynamic processes that are largely uniform across the model domain, representing a limited selection of the processes of interest in well-characterized, real-world catchments. ISSHM testing would benefit from more intercode comparisons using a consistent set of test cases, aimed at evaluating more catchment processes (e.g. flooding) and using a wider range of simulation diagnostics (e.g. pressure head distributions). To achieve this, a suite of test case variations is required to capture the relevant catchment processes. Finally, there is a need for additional ISSHM test problems that compare model predictions with hydrological observations from intensively monitored field sites and controlled laboratory experiments. One of the major challenges in remote participation in fusion experiments is the control from remote locations of the data acquisition and treatment process. In an optimum situation, the remote researcher should be able to control the data acquisition configuration parameters, and data processing, specifying the results that must be returned to him. The simulation platform presented here, allows the researcher to develop and test complex algorithms in a high level graphical language (LabVIEW), which includes powerful data processing libraries. These algorithms will be downloaded later into the data acquisition system. Furthermore, the platform allows the simulation of hardware data acquisition, which include the following points: (a) simulation of channel configuration from one or several data acquisition cards (channels used, sample frequencies, etc.), (b) generation of buffered simulated data (it is also possible the use of raw data, acquired in previous experiments, as simulated data), and (c) reproduction of hardware behavior (except, of course, in terms of real time behavior and real data). For this purpose, Virtual Instruments (VIs) libraries written in LabVIEW will be provided to the remote developers. These VIs will be replaced later, in the data acquisition system, by their homologous VIs that actually interface with the hardware. This facility will allow remote researchers to verify the correct behavior of their own data processing algorithms before downloading them into the data acquisition system. (C) 2004 Elsevier B.V. Spreadsheets are among the most widely used end-user programming systems. According to some estimates, up to 90% of spreadsheets have non-trivial errors in them (Rajalingham et al., 2001). In many cases, spreadsheet errors have resulted in huge financial losses for companies. Spreadsheets are also in use in Science and Mathematics education in schools primarily because they offer a flexible modeling environment. With widespread adoption of spreadsheets by end users there is a greater need for better auditing tools to help users develop safer spreadsheets. Traditional approaches like code inspection, auditing, and testing might not be really conducive for users disadvantaged by their background, education, learning style or physical abilities. In this context, it is important to develop tools that work with minimal user intervention.

An extending approach to the concept of the product of context and ambiguous. In this article, we present the concept of overlap product, where contextual words are inserted among code words and strings reduced by the common overlapping context. Thus, the concept of code on the basis of overlap product is created, also called O-code. The initial results on the properties and conditions for decoding are the basis to establish an effective algorithm for testing of O-codes with the complexity of n(3).

The main purpose of this effort is to present a brand-new environment for practising some of the most broadly used - both client- and server- side - web technologies. It is about a web-based, access-free, educational platform, which provides a user-friendly interface, illustrative graphics and supporting material, as well. Full stack development platforms are rarely met online, as most of them are usually oriented towards either front-or back- end development and focus on specific programming languages without offering an overview of actual, integrated projects. This research also involves evaluating existing teaching methods, scanning and comparing some of the most popular, educational web platforms and, furthermore, discovering simple techniques and efficient approaches to reach valuable programming resources for both students and self-learners. The paper places particular emphasis on the recognition of the applications' key features and the variety of programming tools that promote learning and skill enhancement. Moreover, it discusses the roles of tutors and learners, while suggesting a learning path for novice developers. Given the fact that computer science courses often require exceptional practices, this study aims at encouraging active, self-motivated and self-paced learning.

Earth scientist observe many facets of the planet's crust and integrate their resulting data to better understand the processes at work. We report on a new data-intensive science gateway designed to bring rock physicists and volcanologists into a collaborative framework that enables them to accelerate their research and integrate well with other Earth scientists. The science gateway supports three major functions: 1) sharing data from laboratories and observatories, experimental facilities and computational model runs;2) sharing computational models and methods for analysing experimental and observational data;and 3) supporting recurrent tasks, such as data collection and running application in real time. Our prototype gateway has worked with two exemplar projects giving experience of data gathering, model sharing and data analysis. The geoscientists found that the gateway accelerated their work, triggered new practices and provided a good platform for long-term collaboration.

Mutation testing actually gives the internal structural analysis of a software system based on the data and operator feasibility. One of such metric that represents the module reliability and responsibility is its cost analysis. This cost analysis can be performed under identification of relevant operator and expression identification. In this work, a cluster effective approach is defined for improving the clustering mechanism. The work is here defined in two main stages. In first stage, the extraction of the particular expression is done using code extraction approach. In this stage, the code division is also performed to form the relative clusters. In second stage, the identification of appropriate cluster is done to apply the mutation operators and data. The experimentation results show that the work has effectively improved the mutation testing by reducing the number of dead mutants over the code. The implementation of work is done with the helpofMuJava Tool. The implementation results show the significant improvement. (C) 2015 Published by Elsevier B.V.
